Log:The Irregulars: Shala no Hutta
The Irregulars get handed a very important mission.
OOC Date: July 20, 2020
Location: CRV Kima, in ordbit above Chandrila
Participants: Jax Greystorm, Dyannah Nerus, Nerys Arda, Nova Korell, Qadira Suuryet, and Sajin. With Special Guest, Pyretta Blaze
CRV Kima Crew Area
Located off the main corridor, this rectangular space plays double duty between crew mess and recreational center. Running from back to front, the entire room is paneled in gray armoplast, much lighter than the rest of the ship, and with bright glowtubes running along the ceiling to give it a warm cafeteria feel. Long durasteel tables with integrated benches provide ample dining space for the ship's crew, and a line of autochefs along the starboard wall allows for the dipensation of meals and beverages along with a series of recycler bins.
The port wall is broken up with display screens, usually showing a view of space outside, but easily cycled to show any kind of desired data or alert statuses. To fore of this, accessible through an archway cut through an armoplast divider, the final ten feet of the room has been turned into a lounge. The floor has been covered in dark blue carpeting, and the lights here are warm and low.
A ring of comfortable chairs surround an a large holotable in the center of the room, and all along the outside of the space are comfortable acceleration couches - save for the center of the starboard wall, which hosts a pair of holographic gaming tables and a small bar governed by a droid.
The Crew Area of the Kima was probably the busiest place on the Starseeker Corvette other than the Command Bridge. It was where all the eating and recreation was done. It's also where all the meeting were held for up coming missions. The stuff they were going to discuss was not trusted of holocomm, not with the First Order out there lurking.
Sajin was noisily reaching into a foil bag of crisps, shoving them obnoxiously in his mouth, and chewing loudly as he looked rudely over the shoulder of a shorter blond women who was sorting through a case of datafiles. She was lithe, blue eyes, and wore a smuggler outfit that was in style out Socorro way. Her blue eyes turned rapidly towards Sajin, a fire in them as she scolded him wordlessly. The Giant King of Drik's eyes widened, his mouth slowing to a halt. He stepped back slowly, obviously not wanting to press his luck further. He backed into one of the benches that served as a table and fell onto the seat.
The Blond women smirked and went back to her files, "Worse than my brother..." She offered in a deemingly normal female voice, if not a bit of spunk behind it.
Pausing in the doorway of the Starseeker's crew area, Nova has to stifle a smile, seeing the mighty King of Drik backing away from a small blonde woman with scorching eyes. "I've never had a brother, but I'll take your word for it," she says, giving the blonde a quick smile and moving to find a seat. "Good evening, Your Majesty," she adds, with a certain degree of irony to the King.
Nerys, despite her inclusion in the group of ragtag do'gooders, was very rarely aboard the command ship, but she had come as they'd been directed, and she managed the directions of how to get about well enough that she was not exceedingly late for the meeting. Her best droid and (near)constant companion rolled along at her side, as the pair slipped through the door and headed for what appeared to be a free seat, "Everyone. Evening."
"Jax was sitting at the large table with feet propped up and relaxed. It wasn't his meeting and he wasn't running it. "I had one. I miss the kid but when he pulled stuff like that I would say they're over rated." He nods to Nova and Nerys. Then puts his arms behind his head looking at peace as if he thought about things mulling things over.
The crew exhibits the full range of eating manners from the maw stuffer - the King of Drik, eye rolling judge - his last target in the form of a blond woman, to those capable of eating with the galaxy's royalty - Dyannah. She knows which fork to use first and does not drink the finger bowl water which is more than might be said for some. The little by-play between Sajin and the woman has her smiling as she pincers up the last of her bowl of rice with her lacquered chopsticks. Nova earns a grin.
"Yes. Well. I have two. She's not wrong. Evening to Nerys," she adds, putting her bowl aside and pulling her datapad to her.

"Yes. Well. I have two. She's not wrong. Evening to you, Nerys," she adds, putting her bowl aside and pulling her datapad to her.
"I had sisters... too many." Sajin adds to both Nova and Dya's interjection. He narrows his brows, casting a dubious glance towards the newcomer aboard the Kima. His hand reaches into the bag of crisps, noisily grabs a handful of the treats before shoving them defiantly into his mouth. He chews hard.
The Blond turns around, the datapackets in her hands. It looks like there's one for each person who's shown up to the meeting. He eyes fall on Sajin again, a look of confusion, perhaps concern on her face. "Why is he?" She glances to the others, closing her eyes as she shakes her head. "Nevermind..." She clears her throat. "This is everyone I take it? Okay... so. I'm Special Agent Pyretta Blaze with New Republic Intelligence. Some of you may know my brother, Elrych." She pauses. "Or you might not..." She looks to Sajin once more who is practically squinting at her as he stuffs crisps into his mouth, chewing loudly, bits of the chips stuck to his now chubby and greasy cheeks. Still adorable but in a very innocent way.
"I'm your liason for your new mission on Courkrus. I'm knew at this kind of thing but out of all the people the Republic has, I know the Invids the best other than Kavil who isn't leaving his very secure prison any time soon." She steps forwards and starts to pass out the Datapackets. "In these packets are name of leaders, the gangs they run, and where on the planet they like to hang out."
"Nice meeting you, Agent Blaze," Nova replies, accepting her own datapacket. "I'm looking forward to working together." Of course, she's not ignoring her friends. She smiles readily at Dyannah. "Missed you, Countess. It's good to see you could make it. You too, Nerys, Jax. I've kind of missed dealing with things quietly."
She tosses Sajin a two-finger salute. "Always a pleasure, Kingy... no, don't answer that out loud," she adds hastily. "I shudder to think about the mess that'll make. If you just nod, I'll figure you're just as honored by my company as I am by yours."
You've received a +nom from Nova Korell. +nom/pending to review.
"Thank you," Nerys offered, as the datapad was passed over to her, taking a few moments to flick through the information before she piped up, not pointedly ignoring the shenanigans going on, but sort of yes, "I'm sorry. I feel as though I might have missed a meeting. Why are we attempting to eliminate this gang again?" She frowned, glancing over towards Jax, "Is this the Snack Cakes Gang?"
"Elrych's a jedi knight and a member of Rogue Squadron." Jax explains to Sajin. "Hey King come sit next to Nova and the Countess. That way the nice Special Agent doesn't get twitchy and taze you." He shrugs as Nerys as him the question, "Snack Cake Gang? Nah, I ran down the last of the pirates to Ryloth. The Carith thing has caused a mess of that but we'll be moving on that soon. It'll require a light touch. They're held up in a village. I've brokered an arrangement with the local with more common sense than the local males to keep the villagers out of the fight. So we can deal with the pirates. This is something new, Didn't get ran through me or regular channels first. So I'm learning as you guys are."
Kadi is late. But then, she doesn't fly fast, and well, she's got a business to run, twins to look after and a husband who - well, let's not go there. She slips in, glances around and quietly takes a seat, hoping nobody notices her. She manages to not trip or anything, but she now has absolutely no idea what is oing on. For the moment, she doesn't ask.
Attentively, Dyannah watches Special Agent Blaze introduce herself. Dipping her head in welcome, "Happy to have you here. We're looking forward to your briefing." She clears her throat and looks faintly embarrassed for Sajin's fist fulls of chips. It takes all kinds and greasy face or no, he's not half bad to have at one's side in a fight.
Dyannah accepts the data packet, opening it immediately to plunge into the list, glancing from time to time at their liaison. A faint smile warms her violet eyes as she looks up once at Jax talking to Sajin.
"Too many lightsabers..." Sajin grumbles as he stands and hobbles his way over to where Jax told him to sit his large self. The bench creaks when he does so and as soon as he sedentary he goes back to drigging for more treasure in that bag of crisps he has.
Pyretta gives a nod to Nova, then to the others, as well as Jax's observation of who her brother is. "Half brother mind you..." She finishes handing out the Datafiles. IF they were to open them the Irregulars would see pictures of Gang leaders and some of the members as well as popular hang outs. With Nery's question, Pyretta Elaborates: "The Invids are a Pirate Sydicate or Consortium located on the Outer Rim near the Bysis system occupying the worlds of Courkrus and more heavily Suarbi. THey are lead by a women who has proclaimed herslef a Moff by the name of Leona Tavira. She obtained the title through marriage and... less dignified manners." She brushes a bit of hair behind her ear. "She used to have a personal guard of Force Users but the Jedi took care of that." There is a bit of hesitation, a pause as she reflects on that fact. He breath hitches. She finds her voice again eventually. "Anyways, we have no direct knowledge of them being involved with the First Order and their Pirates turned Privateer but we can only guess it's a tempting enticement for the Moff. THe New Republic is busy dealing Carida and policing its trade routes. THey see Tavira as enough of a threat that they want her organization taken out. That's where you folks come in." He opens the Datafile, the holoscreen flickering to life. "Your mission is to sew chaos and discord amongst the various Invid pirate gangs. They are tenious alliances held only together by the Iron fist of the Moff herself... along with her Imperial Star Destroyer and few other picket ships she has. What means you use to do this is up to you but one thing is clear... the New Republic has complete deniability."
List of Gangs: Blackstar Pirates, Laser Lords, Khuiumin Survivors, Riistar Raiders, and Shala's the Hutt's men. Prominant Leaders are listed as Shala the Hutt, a small time Hutt lord who's fallen in with Tavira. THe other Gangs have some names marked as leaders but none as prominante as Shala the Hutt. "There are several Cantina's they hang out in, one Prominantly called the Warran, shared by the Raiders and the crew of the Red Nova. Blackstar hangs out in the Brothel and gambling house called The Mynock Hole. THe Survivors hang around The Crash. That's likely where you can find Captain Jacob Nive, formerly of the Backstab who escaped from Black Squadron after they destroyed the CR-90 in the Vergesso Asteroid fields."
"Well, have to give this Moff Tavira credit for being ambitious," Nova ways, looking over the file. "But all these pirate gangs aren't something we can take head-on. Maybe we can do some well-placed sabotage and make it look like some of the others are doing it?"
Nerys frowned, thoughtful, not displeased, as she divided her attention between the data she was reading through and the report she was being given by the Intelligence Officer. She did not even bat at eye at the mention of plausible deniability. That was, after all, what the Irregulars were for. "Let me be the first to say that spycraft is not my forte. But my first thought is, if these gangs are competing for business with each other, be it spice running, slaves, salvage, is there anyway we can make it seem that toes are being stepped on? One gang swooping in to snatch up a shipment another gang was hoping to steal, for example?" She nodded to Nova, who seemed to be thinking along the same lines.
"Her own band of Force Users? What's her status in that reguard? Folks like that usually don't just work for people who can't use the force without good reason." Jax looks to NOva and Nerys noding. "Start moving money around make 'em seem like they're striking each other. Make them lose respect of the 'Moff.'" Jax does finger air quotes. "It would take some work but could start a civil war on her. This is is not a little thing."
Kadi listens quietly, curiously. She's not been in too many of these, and finds it quite fascinating, all things considered. "Pick one, steal somethign from them, drop it off in a random one's warehouse?" she ventures. she too is thoughtful, a little bit hesitant. "That sort of thing?" Cause who knows exactly what they are thinking. "And then maybe we can try all the ideas - there are certainly enough of these gangs."
"I've heard some stories that have made the rounds about how a Jedi from Rogue Squadron infiltrated the Invids. They had his wife, I believe." Dyannah's gaze travels over the group, "It is quite a story from what little I've heard about it. The got the 'rogue' Jedi around her out. But I didn't know that she had escaped or am I confusing her with someone else?""
At Nova's proposal, the Zeltron nods appreciatively, "Good idea that, as is Nery's expansion of it. And I agree with Jax. We will have to plan this campaign out very carefully to keep them from finding out who we are." Smiling at Kadi, "That's the ticket. Simple and something that could get one group in trouble with another easily."
I've heard some stories that have made the rounds about someone infiltrating the Invids." Dyannah's gaze travels over the group, "It is quite a story from what little I've heard about it. Are the force users still with her then?"

Simple and something that could get one group in trouble with another easily."
"The Jensaarai. The Jedi took care of them though so it's a none issue. If you want to know more you'll have to talk to my brother." Pyretta offers Jax. It's clear the woman knows more but doesn't wish to expand further on it. She looks to Nova and gives a nod, "Probably the most obvious approach." She regards Nerys and nods. "While they don't compete of prizes, they /are/ very territorial. Especially over their hang outs. The may become jelous if one gang thinks the other is being favored more by the Moff."
Sajin blurts out, "Yeah I mean... you all can do that but like, why don't I just sit on top of a skyrise and kill 'em with my bowcaster." Pyretta just stares at Sajin for a long moment, "You're not very bright are you..." Before the hapan can respond she moves on, looking to Kadi. "Yes, they might take offense to one gang stealing anothers things. Very Territorial."
Her head turns to Dyannah, "It's possible. THe Invids have been around for a long time but not... The Jensaarai are no more." She looks down, a sad look as she clears her throat.
"So, make the gangs think Tavira's picked a new bunch of good kids, and it's not them and never will be them?" Nova asks, giving it some thought. And giving Nerys and Dyannah nods, of course. It's their idea as much as hers. "So, this just might involve going undercover, too? I guess I'd better brush up on my disguise skills." She turns her attention to Pyretta, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "Did you have friends among the Jensaarai?"
"I think if it were that easy, King," here Nerys used his codename, despite the fact that they were all known to each other, "We'd be handing you boxes of bolts and not sitting around having a meeting." She glanced back to the group, still clearly pondering, "What about intercepting their electronic communications? Would it be possible, in addition to actually trying to move cargo or steal shipments to spoof comm chatter between the groups or their associates and allies? Sow suspicion that way?" Nerys was polite enough not to pry into talk of the force users. But perhaps her mind was simply on another track.
"Going undercover is possible. Though a number of us are a bit recognizable." He nods his head at Sajin. "Infiltration will require time and comitment. It can weigh on the soul but it would make things easier." He nods, "I'll try to catch Elrych, soon." Jax shrugs, "When does the New Republic want us to make a move?"
Kadi smilss at those who speak to her, then goes quiet, listening. "I can probably sabotage ships," she puts in wryly. "If I can design them, fix them, I should be able to break them too, right?" She looks through the info packet, but she'll take more time in a bit, when there's no conversation ongoing. That will help her concentrate.
A blue eyebrow lifts at Nova's question, curious as well to know what prompted Pyretta's moment of sadness. "The most dangerous move would be to put us on their radar and try to integrate into the group to work from the inside. When I say dangerous, I mean, it will involve us attacking our own side at times to make ourselves appear real." Dyannah is unconsciously shaking her head no at the thought of turning guns on New Republic shipping or even going head to head with the military in some form or another.
"Perhaps I am too cautious, I like the idea of spoofing communications and planting material in their warehouses to make one group look bad."
Tapping her finger thoughtfully to her chin, "We might be able to plant one or two of us among them. I'd go." Shrugging, mouth tugged into a wry expression, she nods and spreads her hands. "I would."
Pyretts glances up to Nova. She hesitates in her responce settling for a deflection instead. "Something like that." It's a small glimps into who she is, what she might know about the force user cult and their destruction. "If you're going to set up a surveillance network, it might be prudent to start with that... then with what information you gather assume the identity of the pirate crew who's the new kid on the block. IF you want to get noticed by Tavira I have it on good authority that a certain Tionese is making moves soon. Show up and you might just catch her eye." There is a nod of approval to Dyannah, "And that's the down side of doing the full undercover thing. You might have to make that hard choice. It might just be best to keep a low profile, listen in, and then stealthily do the dirty work... or make yourselves look like a rival gang." The might have been thinking too deep into it.
Sajin looks to Jax, a small glance. "I was a Pirate once you know... I was prety good at it too. I mean, cleaning the deck and stuff..."
Everyone here was now dumber thanks to Sajin.
Pyretta responds to Jax, "As soon as you're able. Not a day goes by that patrols arn't responding to Invid assults on convoys, especially out Naboo way. The sooner the better." A nod to Kadi, "It's a decent investment at any rate."
Nerys' head popped up, as she listened to Dyannah, "Republic shipping. What about..." she frowned, chewing on her lip, "What if we created 'shipments' and fed the information to the pirates, but when they tried to secure the goods, they found them already gone?" She looked at Jax, "I don't mean to sacrifice ships, but to feed false information, and the goods are gone when they get there, and then the goods show up somewhere else?" She shook her head, "I am a legitimately terrible spy."
"I'm worried about that too, Dya," Nova says. "It's a chance worth taking, though. Someone'll have to be watching those pirates to see if they take the bait. And I'm probably the least recognizeable person here, if it comes to blending in."
Her attention returns to Pyretta. "Not that I have anything against that plan, but we'd end up being a pretty small pirate crew. We could barely crew a medium transport, let alone a warship any pirate crew would take seriously."
Nerys' head popped up, as she listened to Dyannah, "Republic shipping. What about..." she frowned, chewing on her lip, "What if we created 'shipments' and fed the information to the pirates, but when they tried to secure the goods, they found them already gone?" She looked at Jax, "I don't mean to sacrifice ships, but to feed false information, and the goods are gone when they get there, and then the goods show up somewhere else or appear to?" She shook her head, "I am a legitimately terrible spy." She looked to Nova, "Or me. I could probably fit in somewhere that someone with a different face might not. And with enough work, I could change my face. I know a good doctor. Though...that's a deep dive into undercover."
At the mention of a certain Tionese, "Please tell me not Ektor. I get more and a more of a bad feeling about this." Jax sits up steppling his fingers, "It's alright buddy. I hear you did a good job of it. Never heard Hex and Kasia complain about your janitorial talents. The Blue LIght also was the cleanest Nar Shaddaa Dive bar on the whole planet under your watch. Well also find something for you to desroy soon." Jax says considers, "We're too small of operation and many of us have too famous of faces for full deep cover. The Kima is a pretty legit Warship though." He considers, "What your suggesting Nerys is a good idea. Though I think it something we can only use once and it migh take a bit of a set up to get the pirates to fall into a trap of a sting. I think it would be best for us to start some fights posing as rival pirate gangs and sloppy raid some pirate holdings posing as a gang. If we play it right we could even attack a ship and pirate the pirates. Posing as another gang. We're just going to have to be smart and stay one step ahead."
Kadi now has said her bit, and she shrugs listening. "Just tell me where I can help, I'll be there," she says easily. Gadget and Button, of course. She packs up her info packet, so she can consider it in solitude. She is a good engineer, but she's new at all this irregulars stuff and she's not crazy enough to think she knows what is what. "I don't think I'd ever be a good person to go undercover," she adds wryly, thoughtuflly.
"The first move is to find out where they are." Dyannah holds up one pink finger.
"In the meantime, work on spoofing transponders. Why not plant cargo in the meantime?" said with a glance at Kadi before turning to Nova.
"I wonder how they recruit, Nova. It wouldn't have to be a big crew. They need to get more pilots from time to time. I get myself blacklisted among the traders, and I will have a reason for looking for someplace new to fit."
A grin spreads across her face at the mention of Ektor. "I had heard he went home. Hah. That pirate!"
Her smile disappears as she listens to Jax's proposal. "We are going to have to disappear completely, Jax. They will be on our trail with a much larger force than we have. How many fighters do we have? Unless we change the Kima's transponders after every engagement, we will still be caught red-handed."
Sajin glances to Jax, giving him a nod and shoving more crisps into his mouth. He answers Dyannah with a full mouth, still chewing. "You got Yellow Squadron and my YZ-775 whenever you need it." He raises his brows at the mention of Ektor and possible piracy. "I'll take the details on that." His hand raises high in the air as if trying to be called on by a teach in a class room.
Pyretta rolls her eyes, "Fine I'll give you the information before I leave."
Sajin pumps his fist, "Yes... guna kill some bad dudes!"
Pyretta sights yet again, holding the bridge of her nose. "So... plant the Survielence. Give them a heads up on some Cargo that doesn't exist. Plant that Cargo in the rival warehouse... Listen in, rinse and find something else to blow up. Let's go with that first." She gives a thumbs up. It looks like there was some traction finally on the Invid problem.
