Log:The Correlian Extraction
Who doesn't like a good hostage negotiation? These guys, apparently.
OOC Date: May 11, 2020
Location: Consoliev-Waterghost Insurance Company, Correllian District, Nar Shaddaa
Participants: Kael Greystorm, Kryll, Nerys Arda, Nubri, Sion, Tara Sur
Hostages were taken at the Consoliev-Waterghost insurance company. A team was formed to storm the building and rescue the hostages. Down the Stairs, in team Zerek, Nu is attaching the charges to the door, looking at the Datapad "Right. So, we know where the foes are in this room. The rest has no video feed... four hostiles." meanwhile on the roof, Tara sniped the roof guards, and the sky lights down to the next room are clear. Three hostiles are seen, to be taken out, preferably simultaneously by Aurek, followed by getting down the floor.
-
Nerys' gloved hand hit the flat of the back plate of the powered armor of the man standing just ahead of her. If Kael had been looking in her direction, she might have given him a thumbs up, but he wasn't. Regardless, it was her signal that she was ready to follow his lead. They were storming the castl--er, building. As was their usual, it was the big bounty hunter leading the way and his sidekick trailing behind. Nerys had her bow armed and charged, the hilt of her sword peeking out behind her back as she moved at speed to patch the pace he was setting.
-
Tara steadies the barrel of her carbine on the railing, smoothly double tapping the trigger. The first shot's a graze, but the second one pops one of the guards over the skylight's head. <<"One target down. Ready to boost in.">>
-
Kryll is in position nearby Tara, and takes aim at the second guard on the rooftop, Tara takes her shots, and Kryll fires in sync with her trigger pull. His shot creating a not small tunnel through the guard's used to be head. <<"Kryll, contact two down.">> he gets up from his position to secure the rest of the rooftop, and makes his way to the building edge, drawing his S5 pistol in his left hand in preparation. <<"In position.">
-
Kael had arrived with Nerys. He's looking around at the team that gets assembled for the stairs... He looks over at Nerys and nods some, "For those of you with internal helmet comms set them to internal and on freq <blahblah> for Team Zerek chatter." He toggles his comms over his voice no longer escaping the power suit and just going over comms <<"Comms check.">> He unholsters the blaster at his hip and checks to make sure that the sword over his shoulder is loosened for a speedy draw if needed, <<"Our goal is 100 percent hostage rescue, zero friendly fatalities and all enemy threats neutralized. Any questions?">>
-
Nerys did indeed have internal comms, which, sadly, she often left on a hot mic. At least she wasn't saying anything offensive...yet. <<Comms are good.>> She advanced as she as directed, paying only half her attention to the reports, such as they might be receiving, of the work of the team on the roof. <<No questions.>>
-
An airspeeder is no uncommon sight here. But this airspeeder bears the markings of a local taxi service, and pulls up next to the roof. It's a pretty good distraction, so any sniping on the roof goes unnoticed. The one guard who sees it approach lifts his weapon and heads that way. No instructions were given, after all, about taxis. The window opens on the passenger side, and an attractive woman with dark hair and well-tanned skin gestures the guard over. "Excuse me! Do you know where 216B Crocker Street is?" she asks with a bright smile. The guard blinks in surprise and starts to answer... and then gets shot in the face as he steps up to the door! "Never mind," the woman answers the space where he was. "Here will do." Saluting the driver, she steps out onto the roof, shutting the door and waving the taxi away. <Zerek, this is Aurek. Roof is secure.>
-
Down on the stairs, Nu sets the charge off. It catches an unfortunate Hostage Taker and pins him to the ground. 3 Hostiles. <"Aurek? Zerek here. Door breached. According to the plans, we will meet in the last room."> she nods at Kael <"After you, Chief. Sorry for interupting you."> she yells, just as three guards aim their weapons at them, right in front of the door, holding a scatter gun, a second to his right, pistol and one to the left, with a repeater, a similar layout repeating for Aurek. The hostages are looking at them with fear, a few of them wearing.... explosive vests. None of the takers seem to hold a detonator.
-
The glass shatters with the impact of Tara's armored boot, and the jetpack equipped Mandalorian drops down, twin pistols blazing. One mook goes down with a shot to the throat, the other one collapsing in pain from a gutshot. <<"Two down, moving to clear!">>
-
Kryll looks to Tara and nods, standing at the edge of the rooftop with his back to the fall. He readies his pistol, and carbine, and then hops off, dropping down out of sight. He counts, then activates the gravity belt on his armor, causing his descent to slow drastically. Once he reaches the floor, he fires his blaster through the windows, hitting targets inside the room and making a new entry point before using his S5 to fire a cable into the room and haul himself inside, setting down onto the floor of that level. <<"Kryll, breached.">>
-
Kael barrels into the first room his blaster sighting in on one head... squeeze the retort of the blaster firing and then the body dropping. The pistol slides over and repeats on the next enemy head that the sight lines up with dropping both enemies and then his left hand rises with another pistol in it squeezing off another shot but it hitting where the enemy wasn't at any more.
-
Nerys, not far behind her mobile power shield aka Kael, had learned the art of shooting around the big man, and as he swiveled to take out two of the guards, in perfect synchronicity, Nerys' moved in the opposite direction, her bow thrummed, and a bolt took out the third. She skipped ahead, though, jockeying as they often did, holding up the line as she took a good gander at the way ahead. <<Trigger wire, around the door. Rigged to blow. I think that's you or the Doc.>>
-
She slips her cutters from a pocket on her suit, carefully clipping the wire. <Old trick, but lots of folks don't know to look for it. Open the door, pull the wire, something bad happens. This one's taken care of,> she says, straightening and stacking up next to the door, her S5 ready. <On you.>
-
Kael Greystorm nods as he walks up to the door and carefully pulls out a knife from his kit to snip the wire disabling it from going off when the door opens, <<"It looks like they're using simple traps keeps your eyes open.">>
-
Nubri nods, before kicking the door in. Both teams are welcomed by the same sight. Six men. Again, trapped hostages. Two scatterguns, two cheap, rusty DL-18s and a pair of rickety repeaters <"Next room our paths join.">
- <<"Thanks, I owe you one.">> Tara grimaces a bit inside her helmet. If she'd hit that tripwire... Not a lot of her going back to her clan. Bad way to die. Into the next room, and a shot from Tara's sentinel burns a hole straight through one of the scattergun wielders. In her dive to avoid return fire though, the DL-30 goes wide.
-
Kryll scans the remains of the room after the initial fire and adjusts to the new threats, his body pivots in place <<"Kryll, engaging five.">>; firing once, twice, and three times at the targets in the room according to threat assessment. The hostile with the scattergun is put down with a clean headshot, and then two repeater wielding hostiles are dropped with a shot to the left leg and then the torso. <<"Two hostiles remain.">>
-
Kael steps through the burst open door following Nubri's breaching of it to take the brunt of any shots fired as his heavy power armored self comes through Series III sighting in on enemies squeezing the trigger and dropping two of them rapidly his third shot missing completely though.
-
Everyone in Aurek is dead, leaving just the final connecting door and a pair of pistol in Zerek. Would it be worth waiting for the other team though? That, issue is solved as 3 more hostage takers armed with pistols storm in to attack the roof team from a side room.
-
Nerys, being in a bit of close quarters as they breached did not quite get a good enough shot to even touch one of the guards now inside. Four stayed four. And that made her angry. And nobody liked a redhead when they were wee and angry. The bow collapsed back into itself as she drew her sword, charging in like a small ball of death towards the two with the pistols.
-
With Tara and Kryll taking care of the scattergunners and repeaters, Sion hangs back a bit to take down the pistoleers, one shot apiece. And an extra, owing to a nervous trigger finger. <Aurek, we're clear...> she says, pivoting around the doorjamb.
And then suddenly a side door bursts open! Three more pistoleers charge in! <Um, hold that thought!> Sion exclaims, sidestepping /back/ through the door she'd just come through, to regain cover. <Three more troublemakers!>
-
Nerys Arda. Full time Space Nerd. Part time Murder Bot. All the time Gives Zero ****s. Nerys charged ahead, keeping her body small and low as she dove in, making the most of her smaller size as she charged one of the pistol wielding guards, the edge of her blade glistening that odd, shimmering green as she cut him down in two swift strokes, before she pivoted to try to sight her next target.
-
<<"More incoming!">> Tara spins, pistols blazing, and drops three new pistoleers who tried to rush her group. <<"Okay, final room. STack up people, prep to breach. We'll want to sync this just right.">>
-
Kael looks around as Nerys charges into some of them. He sighs a bit and then brings both pistols to target the last enemy firing off round after round although one smacks the guy in the head the other two miss completely. <<"All tangos down prepare to breach next room."
-
The threat becomes a non-threat: Tara's fast pistolwork takes down all three of the intruders in a hurry!
Sion hears the shots, but doesn't realize they're kill-shots. Back to the wall, she nervously sidesteps to the doorjamb and pivots quickly around it... catching her suit on the doorjamb at the hip and loudly *RRRRRRRIIIPing* the seat out. She doesn't notice. <Where's..? Oh. Wait for me!> she calls, hurrying to stack up with the others, her white underpants showing.
-
Nubri takes position, nodding at Kael, before kicking the door down. Inside.... one Tango awaits them, holding a detonator up "NO FUNNY STUFF, OR I WILL DO THE JOB!" he cries out, det high above his head to show it. He wears a bomb vest like the hostages. Nu turns "EVERYONE, ON THREE-FOUR! FOUR!" and then, she squeezes her trigger
-
Kael enters with the rest of the Zerek team and looks around as he spots Gruber and the bomb vest. The Sentinel IV comes up as the others start shooting he squeezes off one round seeing it strike home he reholsters his pistols looking around for any other threats. But letting the folks who don't look like giant killers take care of the hostages.
-
<<"You forgot to arm the detonator, shabuir.">> Before the incompetent terrorist has any chance to do anything about it, Tara's already pulled the trigger on her EE-3 twice, having switched to it for a precision takedown after the breach. Kind of hard to turn on a detonator with no head now, isn't it?
-
Kryll makes his way into the room with the others, but, instead of shooting him after seeing the explosives, he blasts out the windows behind him to help allow any blast to disperse more outward instead of potentially blowing back onto them. Yea, that is exactly why no bolts hit the mad man with explosives that everyone else was shooting.
-
Oh good. Everyone was dead. That's nice. Nerys, who did not resheath her sword, moved over towards the hostages, "Not to worry. They're not here for you. Well, they are, but in a good way. Now everyone hold still while I try to trace these vests and find out how to get you all out." She took a knee, checking over each of the vests, her free hand tracing the air around each of the hostages as she worked her way from the first of them towards the middle, "Okay, a single trigger, I'll need some help getting this deactivates so we can get them out."
-
And the bad guy gets shot. Repeatedly. If she had to guess (and she does), Sion would call him dead. But there are still lots of bomb vests to defuse. She holsters her pistol and moves into the room, into the middle of the hostages, turning this way and that to address everyone. "Hi! Um, everybody stay calm? We're here to help you, promise! Just try to stay still so we can work, and get these nasty bombs off of you. If it was my choice, we'd take you all out for ice cream after, but I'm not the team leader. But if I was, sundaes all around! Triple scoops for the calmest folks!" She still has no idea the seat of her suit is missing. But the hostages and the team probably do by now...
-
And so, the day was saved by a bunch of bounty hunters and their sidekicks. Nobody needed to die. Well, nobody who wasn't a terrorist. And they had it coming, frankly.
