Specter of The Order II

OOC Date: January 20, 2019
Location: Tython
Participants: Jedi Order: Rey, Syrus, Zandra naMuriel, Yuun, and Elrych Cometburn

The ruins of the Jedi Temple, thousands of years of history, artifacts, knowledge... It had all been protected by that of the Twi'lek's here on Tython. Preserved for those who wished to come and learn about the ancient order. The walls are as kept as ruins could be, many generations of natural erosion seeing to its slow decay. Only recently have the care-takers gone about renovating what they could. Mostly the storage place for what artifacts, books, or what else might have remained here and survived robbers or nature which wasn't much. Still, this place is probably the best intact ruin of the Order that anyone from the the nascent Order who now treks into the temple.

Elrych has a haversack filled with different odds and ends which is strapped across his shoulder and hanging towards the back of his hip. Tetan sun-glasses on, he scans through some information as they all climb the stairs. The Rangers giving them odd looks from a distance, but do nothing as they have permission. "Man what a place... They said it was pretty much picked clean though. Not sure if there's anything we'll find to help us."

The winds whistled and howled through the hollow halls of this massive construct. Dark except for the work lights that lead up the stairs to what was once the Library.

"Indeed," Syrus says, following after Elrych. "It's...strange seeing a temple in such good condition. I'm used to feeling like I need a shower as soon as I step foot in one," the large Kiffar muses, looking around the area and tugging the strap of his bag tighter across his body. Rey stays near the back of the others and she just trails after them with her hands holding onto the strap of the satchel around her torso. She looks forward to the others talking. "We just have to remember that the point of coming to these locations is not the possibility of finding lost artifacts... but to further establish our knowledge of the Jedi Order as a whole. Remember that Knowledge itself is the second pillar of the Jedi's foundation." She shows a faint smile then, her eyes drifting off to the side.

"Not to sound boring, of course. I know that the prospect of an actual physical relic of an item is a bit more exciting, on a romantic idea of adventure. But... a Jedi is not meant to crave such a thing. As Master Yoda's holocron likes to say."

Zan perhaps hasn't seen many such temples, or not realized what she was seeing at the time. She follows along quietly, curiously. The book from the Elder is with her, in case they need it, and she's read through, as much as she could. Just ahead of Rey. She glances back at Rey and then she can't help but add, "True, but he is old. I bet he thought a bit differently when he was young."

Elrych stops inside the great hall and shines a light up the stairs before doing the same down each Hallway. "We should stick together, I think. Where do you guys want to go first?" He asks, mainly to Syrus who is the experienced and learned one in this field.

Many Symbols of the order line the walls of the temple. The Jedi were vain in this manner, as Aryn had explained to him on a trip to the Temple on D'Qar once. The Halls remained silent for now, perhaps occasionally echoing the tweet or flutter of an Avian's wings as it took off out the shattered glass of a window.

"Yeah, Master Yoda was pretty old when he made that thing." The Corellian shrugs as he continues to look around with the light he's pulled from his haversack.

"We should apparently steer clear of the relicquary," Syrus offers with a smirk to the young Elrych. Hands rests comfortably on the strap of his bag.

"Perhaps the library? We've our fair share of texts, but...and I may be biased; one can never have too many." The man big man smirks, postiviely giddy at the idea.

Rey has to smirk at what the other's say. "I think it would be wise if we didn't disregard the wisdom of someone who lived nine times the lifetimes that any of us will likely get to experience. Just because someone is 'old' doesn't mean that their experiences should be ignored. Quite the opposite, if you ask me. I'd rather learn from their mistakes to ensure that they're not repeated."

She gives a glances over to Syrus then and nods softly toward him, stepping past one of the broken windows she looks back outside briefly. "If anything has survived, its likely the vault. I've read that most Jedi temples have a vault of some... variety. Generally hidden, but also generally close to the library area also."

Zan pauses and she shrugs, not saying anything further. She simply steps back, letting Rey move forward and waits for them to decide what they want to do. There is a thoughtful look on her face. She closes her eyes briefly, and her expression manages to remain serene.

"Oh no, I wasn't saying that Rey-rey. I always think listening to Master Yoda is probably the best thing to do. Though I know when you're older you're kind of biased against some things and you might realize it." Elrych says as he ascends the stairs, turning his head back just in time for something to startle him. He jumps slightly but doesn't drop anything and it's no more eccentric than a normal reaction he is known for. IF they can be considered normal, he is a wiry fellow. "Ah..." He clears his throat, not wanting to say anything to the others.

The library is lit with those work lights and the shelves are... ostensibly bare. A book here, some old pottery there depicting some Jedi in a battle. There is no obvious sign of a vault. The room seems about ten degrees colder then that of the rest of the temple.

"A bunch of children arguing the merits of old age," Syrus says, grinning at the rest of them and pushing 40, himself. Stepping into the library, Syrus's hands fall to his side and he begins his slow, plodding look around. But he's hardly made any progress when, out of the corner of his eye, he spots a figure; be-shadowed and wispy, moving quickly past the door. His dark eyes squint and he moves out towards the door to investigate.

"Right..." Rey says softly with a light exhale chasing her words. She doesn't continue the lecturing, often telling herself that it comes off as nagging more than it does hoping to inspire the others. She glances down for a moment as the progress ontward toward the library but its the sudden change in 'atmosphere' that gets her to look up again.

First Rey's eyes go toward Syrus' back and then she follows his line of sight toward where she sees a hooded figure, who appears to... be illuminated?

"Is that a hologram?" She asks, out of reflex, not expecting it to be anything else of course--because why would it be? Anything else isn't exactly common place in every day life!

Zan is quietly following along. She looks around, sees what is there, and manages a brief smile for Syrus' comment about children. Fair, that. She looks over to Elrych, and then to Rey before she simply starts looking away from the group, expecting that if there is any trouble it will come from there, not from her companions. She catches sight of the shadowy, whispy figure and frowns at it as well. "Looks like it," she says softly. Just that, as she turns away now to look at the pottery. Elrych narrows his brows as he can see his breath now, the temperature seeming to lower more. Though, as the others turn to follow the 'Projection' Elrych is almost left behind. "Hey... wait up!" He announces hurrying towards the exit of the Library.

As the group exits the notice that cloaked and hooded figure, with a slight bluish hue, step around the far corner at the end of the second floor hallways. "It's... It's gota be but... Where's the power coming from? I don't see any projectors." Elrych starts down that way, hungry for answers. "I mean there's that bridge down the way with the platform for one but... someone took it. Maybe they re-purposed it here." It's all just conjecture from a young man, however.

"Hrmmm," Syrus offers. Pensively. The Kiffar follows after Elrych, saying, "I'm not so sure. Holoprojectors tend to be localized. This...phenomenon doesn't seem to be anything of the sort." The big man squints, obviously more than a little confused as to what exactly it is they're following.

Rey has seen a lot with the traveling she's done in the past year, she knows the Force is capable of projecting to people in a wide array of ways. "Be careful." She warns the others. "And lets try to stick together. I'm not going to chase shadows in this place and end up getting one of us harmed in the process."

She certainly continues to look over in the direction that she saw the figure, but her goal is to further explore this location. "All the same, stay focused and observant." She glances over to Elrych and then to Syrus. She doesn't want to instill in any uneasiness about 'spirits' or the like, as that won't aide them in this by any means.

Since Elrych and Syrus are heading out after the shadow, Zan follows, and she blinks. "It went around the corner, I think." Well, so much for the pottery but she might have that piece she was looking at in her hand at this point. She looks at Rey, and then back over to Syrus. "The Holocron I saw had an image that was similar, when we found it, but it wasn't - didn't - give us any lead in clues. It was just in one big cave."

As They round the corner into another long hallway, it might be noticed that there are doors only on the outer-wall. The wall where the Library would rest against is completely void of rooms. The Figure stands in the middle of this hallways, creepily still, facing the barren wall. It's head turns to reveal longer white hair peaking out from inside the hood as well as one eye that glows yellow and the other a normal hue of blue.

"Hey." Elrych says as he rounds the corner, shining his light on the figure. The Photons emitted from the torch seem to pass right through, there is no shadowing. "Woah... she's hot!" Really Elrych? "Hey... listen we're just here to help... wait where are you going?"

The figure then proceeds to walk right through the wall. No door, no hallways. Just right through the solid wall. The group is left alone once more.

Smacking Elrych (softly) on the back of the head as he passes him, Syrus approaches the wall through which the mysterious figure disappeared. "Some sort of molecular displacement?" Syrus asks of himself, reaching forward with leather gloved hands to press against the mortar.

Pensively, the man stares once more. "Hrmmm," he adds. A final once-over and the Kiffar presses in on what seems to be a false panel. There's a click. It begins to open.

Rey continues to walk about and search the area, though the specter has certainly made her a bit on-edge. She picks up an old armored chestplate that was resting on a table, its got a scorch mark straight through its middle and she lifts it up to peer right through it to the table beneath, she sees a family of small rodents had been hiden beneath it and now they're scattering to the wind without their home...

So with huge eyes, Rey quickly places it back down where she'd found it. "My apologies." She says after then and then looks back to where the mention of 'hotness' was proclaimed and she walks toward the others with a frown briefly showing on her lips.

But its Syrus' actions that draw her attention. "Did you find something?" She asks the older historian/archaeologist.

Zan is totally not watching where Syrus is. She looks behind them - nothing - except maybe some cobwebs. Yuk. "Remind me to wash my hair," she murmurs, because that is on topic. And then there's the click and the something happening, which catches her attention. Okay it's Rey asking if they found something that brings Zan around with a swift movement, eyes widening.

There is a rumble and the door that was previously unseen now pushes back, making it's outline more apparent before it starts to raise up slowly. It is a loud thing, stone moving against stone. Though, once it opens completely is is quiet once more. It leads to a winding stair well that is more than completely dark.

Elrych comes up behind Rey and the others, rubbing the back of his head that Syrus wacked. "Is this the vault you were talking about, Rey?"

It may just be some audio matrixing from the Ambient sounds of the temple, but it may sound like whispers are coming from down the creepy old stairway. The figure is nowhere to be seen.

"Very unsettling," Syrus offers as he steps through the door into the Chamber of Secrets. His hands move once more to the strap of his bag and his eyes survey the area.

Rey glances over to Zandra and she flashes her a brief smile before she looks forward again to watch the old creepy stairwell reveal itself from Syrus' discovery of the doorway. She stares down it for a moment before she sweeps her gaze over to Elrych. "Maybe." She replies to him, moving her eyes forward again as she starts down the stairs. "But it could lead to anywhere, really."

As Rey was about to move past Syrus she stopped and looked over at him. "Have you seen anything like this before?" She asked the oldest of the group here, since he referred to this as unsettling.

Either way though, she reaches into her satchel and pulls out a handheld light, she flips it on and starts down the stairs.

Zan shrugs. "When we found the cave, we accidentally fell through a hole, into an underground stream that carried us to the cave. I'm absolutely no help here," she says. She arches a brow as Rey starts down the stairs, and follows, finding her own little light out of her own bag, tucked by the book she has.

The stair case is a spiral and it seems to go down a really far way. They're on those steps for a good three or five minutes. "What do you mean Zandra? You're keeping me company, I'm afraid of the dark don't you know." Elrych says to Zan with a smirk. Once they near the end of stairs, it no long is a cramped boor, instead it opens up into a vast room. There are books upon books covered in dust on shelves. However, what is far more interesting is the sheathed Katana that sits on on a pillar raised by a Dias. It seems to be a center piece in this room of ancient knowledge. The Pillar is triangular, with three sides, each depicting a different symbol.

"Wow..." Elrych exclaims, "I guess it was."

Stepping into the chamber, Syrus looks over his shoulder at Rey and says, "Nothing quite so specific. Just...a feeling." Jedi have lots of those. The librarian tilts his head as he regards the symbols. He stares long and hard them all, the gears in his head whirring away as he rummages through the things locked away deep in there. Finally, the man lifts a hand. Gesturing to each of them, he'll translate them in turn. "Bogan. Darkness? Dark. Ashla. Light. And..." He pauses, trying to remember the phonetics. "Bendu. Or Balance."

"It would appear this is indeed the vault." Rey says while shining her light around, sending its white beam across the various objects down here. She gives a glance back to Zandra. "You're here to learn as much as the rest of us, Zandra." She reminds the similarly aged young woman.

The sword doesn't mean a lot to Rey at the moment, because there are books... precious, sweet, books. "Be careful opening any of these, they may not have been properly stored and could 'dust' the moment you touch them." She's had it happen, its always depressing.

While moving to a shelf to search for labels, she glances over to Syrus. "Those are the ancient descriptors... for light and darkness." She just says, and her eyes sweep the room again. She reaches out for a book then to try to carefully open it.

The Book Rey picks up is written in the language of the root words for light and Dark. Though a few words can be picked out. It seems to be a work regarding certain gardening techniques and herbal remedies for injuries incurred by a force infused weapon. Elrych gravitates his way towards the sword. Because it was cool. He reaches out towards the blade and picks it up only slightly. Visibly he freezes and it's a good moment before he drops the sword and steps back abruptly. His eyes are wide. Loosing his balance he falls to the group, dust puffing up from the impact. "What the heck was that!" He looks more than slightly horrified.

"Mmmhmm. Je'daii," Syrus offers back to Rey. Still studying the pillar, Syrus kneels down next to it, specifically the Bendu side. "I would imagine it has some sort of curse or puzzle associated with it," Syrus offers as Elrych hits the ground. The big man smirks softly. Then he's lifting his hand and pressing his hand to the symbol. Once the book seems to be safe and not suffering from being stored improperly she moves to pick it up fully. "Right." She replies to Syrus without looking at him. "I have issues with that word being so close to Jedi itself. Its made cross-referencing issues a dreadful nightmare as they're each used incorrectly to describe one another so very freque--" Rey cuts herself off from looking through the book when she hears Elrych and looks over to him.

She sees him on the floor, sees the blade he'd disturbed dropped and she looks around the general vicinity in question. "What was what?" She doesn't seem to notice anything. "The hooded figure?" She questions further.

As Syrus presses the Bendu Symbol, the room starts to darken then, and the group is brought into dark. Soon, The planet Tython renders into existence sitting there peacefully in the dark It glows in the force. Soon it starts to pulse, sending out ripples through space and time. Two Moons orbit Tython, one dark and the other light. Each labeled respectivly with Ashla and Bogan. Tython its self is labeled and Bendu, the symbol over-layed againt the world.

A rumble is heard and nine Triangular ships or otherwise diamond shaped come from different directions towards the world. They enter the atmosphere and scatter across the world. Each location glows and then shoots towards one central temple. The group is summoned there as a hammer strikes the blade. It is a forge. A man in armor pushes the force into it and it starts to glow. He raises it into the air. A mantra repeats, There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no fear, there is power. I am the heart of the Force. I am the revealing fire of light. I am the mystery of darkness. In balance with chaos and harmony, Immortal in the Force.

Suddenly on the plains, a massive army clashes. Ratakans and Je'daii fight. The landscape becomes scarred and cracked. The planet falls away into fire and unbalance. Perhaps more metaphorical than historical.

There are several hooded figures boarding ships, leaving. Each going in different directions. Others stay and conference to reevaluate their beliefs. The group is covered in blackness again before they return to the room. Quiet once more.

"Oh," Syrus says, looking up at the show that begins unfolding in front of them. Eyebrows knit together as he watches the scenes. Then, they're back where they're supposed to be. Breathing a breathy chuckle, Syrus looks over at the rest of the group. "Not quite what I was expecting," he says, moving to stand. He slides the glove off of his left hand and reaches out to grip the handle of the katana.

His body goes stiff in an instant, his eyes rolling back into his head, only reavealing the whites of each. His lips wrap themselves around unspoken words as he watches what seems like an eternety unfold. A few more moments pass and he says, "Val Dondos."

Rey continues to stand there with that book in her hands opened about a quarter of the way into it. She also watches the 'show' as it unfolds around them and when it finishes she just sort've stares blankly at where the planet itself had been displayed. When Syrus moves, she moves as well, though she's moving more in a slow walk around the perimeter of the room while she seems to almost even be keeping her distance from that sword for whatever reason.

The book is eventually closed and she slips it back onto the shelf near to another similar book. She doesn't say anything outloud.

When Rey opens another book a piece of paper slips out. It's similar to the image of the temples leading to the Forge. Instead of a Force Image it's an actual physical map. "Woah... I wonder what that was all about." Elrych says, "Some sort of war with some really creepy alien dudes and then... This Je'daii order fractured or something?" At least that's what he got from the vision. He glances to Syrus, dusting himself off, "Val Dondos? Yeah... that's. I saw him when I touched it."

"You'd be surprised how many times this Order of ours has torn itself apart, young Elrych," Syrus says, looking down at the younger Jedi. Sliding his glove back on, the Kiffar reaches out to lift the sheathed weapon. Turning it over in his hands. "Perhaps relics are not the goal, but..." He tucks the thing closer to his body and smirks at the others.

Yuun is with the group having kept to the rear to watch over them. Nothing pretentious, just something he's been doing a lot of lately, just guarding. He's been pretty quiet, taking in everything as they moved through the ruined Jedi Temple. Though once the scene unfolds, the young Jedi Initiate watches in wrapt suspension. Taking in everything that he sees, watching as everything unfolds. Once the vision ended, Yuun blinks a few times and he moves through the vault looking around to see if there was anything else, that could be found.

Rey continues to listen to the others, but she otherwise just looks to the book she gathered up. When the map falls out, it lands near silently between her feet. She feels it lay against her right boot so she crouches and picks it up. While crouched she unfolds it and realizes it a map. After studying it for a moment she raises back up and looks to the others.

"I believe I know where we're headed next." She announces to the group, and then turns the map around to display it to them. She quickly looks back around at the vault. "Seal this room up. We'll come back for the items here later." She tells them then. "If... we even can. We'll have to talk to the matriach in the village first."

Zan looks to Rey and nods her head. "Right, learning I can do, but giving clues ahead of time? Not likely," she clarifies. If they were to stop by the village, the Matriarch would allow them to take the sword but the books had to stay. The room is now known and would be studied by others and protected by the rangers. Their next journy would lead on a long trek across the valley and through the forests where the dangers of monsters lay. Here they would test their medel and their more 'knightly' skills as Jedi.
