Jedi Order: A Lost Relic Pt: 3

[20:38:06 Yuun

Denon is a bustling city planet similar to Couruscant, but on this particular day the Jedi have arrived in search of a very old artifact, a Jedi Holocron. Having found a lead, they venture to the merchant district to an old antique shop. Upon going inside the group encountered the shop owner as well as an Ysalamiri which they felt the force being taken away. Though feeling something was off, the shop owner did speak with the Jedi but at the same time he triggered his alarm which started pumping out poison. He tried to escape down a tunnel behind the counter, but Elrych caught him within the Force before he can get away, Ban began Mediation as well.

Yuun moved in behind the counter and switched off the gas to keep them from all being taken out. "Alright, alright...I said I would talk now let me down!" the old Togruta says as he looks at the Jedi.

[20:53:57 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender glances aside to Elrych with one black brow arched, before regarding the Togruta with an even stare. "We know that you are awaiting rescue, sir, so do pardon me for being brusque: where is the puzzle cube. And I pray you: *answer truly*." Ban attempts to add the weight of compulsion to his appeal for honesty. "Once that is done, I will say again that calling off any of your violence-inclined comrades would be best for you /and/ them."

[20:55:32 Zandra naMurielr Zan turns to look at those who have the situation under control, her gaze going to Rey thoughtfully, nodding at Rey's comment that they need to move fast. She stays away from the lizard, but has moved over to where she can help Yuun keep an eye on the hole in the floor in case someone comes up from below. She concentrates, giving a long look around the store, continuing to pay attention, as best she can, while Ban works on his mediation skills.

[20:56:27 Ben Solo

He's late. Or he wasn't supposed to be here at all, and got bored waiting on the ship. So, when Ben comes through the door of the shop and sees the commotion inside the little antique parlor, his eyes widen slightly and he just sort of stands there staring from the doorway, taking it all in. The notes of poison in the air. The suspended old man. The weird void in the Force on one side of the room, centered around a stupid-looking lizard. Majestic.

"You made me wait on the ship when all this was going on?" he questions Rey in a flat, serious voice, his eyes lingering on the dopey reptile, not liking the lack of sensation over there one bit. "Something's wrong with that," he says, nodding towards the Ysalamir, frowning in its direction. "I can't feel anything. What is that? Ask him what that is."

Rey's stare goes over to Zandra and she nods softly once to her before Ben appears and he draws her stare. She looks to the lizard then, having backed away from it to as comfortable a distance as she can get inside of the store, enough to have felt the flow of the Force through her again. "It's a Ysalamari. They're capable of creating gaps in the Force, they're exceedingly rare. I read about them in Master Luke's journal. He ran across them once in one of his adventures." Rey nods then to the shop owner further inside that the others are dealing with, She fills Ben in. "He's threatening us, his store is rigged with traps and gas." She motions to the walls. "Look, blaster marks on the walls. I think this man is a Jedi hunter, of some repute, at the least."

[21:18:16 Yuun

The Togruta was lowered and now facing the Jedi, the trap door is wide open and it leads down into a dark abyss. There is a ladder that is built into the inner walls of the trap door. Ol Os'car is looking directly at Ban who uses the force and there is a bit of a glaze in his eyes as he stands there. The Jedi would sense danger all around them, something coming from deep below the shop and leading north, northwest.

Yuun isn't the one who uses the force to affect others minds or anything, so he crouches down to look down the trap door, but before he does this, he sees Ben coming into the shop, Yuun bows his head to Ben giving him a sign of respect. He looks to Zan who is near him, with Ban, Elrych, Rey and Ben on the other side of the counter.

Ol Os'car looks to Ban after Ban ask him to answer truthfully about the holocron. "It's down below, where we keep the more valuable pieces we have." he says. Os'car tries to shake his head clear as he hears what he is saying, but than again he has quite a few Jedi surrounding him. "My boss has it, but you have to go down into the caves which leads to our base." he grumbles.

[21:31:25 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender gives a terse exhale at the Nautolan's answer, and turns to regard Rey. "What say you, mistress? I know you had voices the desire to depart swiftly, yet now we find that the artifact exists, but lies behind looming danger. Do we depart, or remain?"

[21:35:18 Zandra naMurielr Zan looks to Yuun and smiles. "There's danger, some of it down below us," she murmurs, in case he doesn't know. Then a brow arches as she listens to the group. "Seems a good reason to go," she offers. "If only to prevent others from falling into this trap."

[21:43:50 Elrych Cometburn Elrych Cometburn takes a deep breath and looks to the others. "Lets take it easy, yeah?" There is a moment as someyhing changes, "They're moving away?" He waits for Rey or someone to make the choice tongo into the depths or try another route. His lightaber returns to his hand but unlit for now.

[21:47:45 Ben Solo

Ben stops staring at the lizard for long enough to glance over at the conversation occurring between Ol Os'car and Ban, nodding at the shopkeeper's story. "He's telling the truth." No more information than that is offered, just confirmation that the mind trick did its job. "What is that?" he repeats again, disturbed enough by the disruption in his senses to engender ongoing suspicion and disbelief despite Rey's explanation.

"I thought you came here for an artifact. If you have any interest in securing it, perhaps you should consider going down there to face whoever this boss is." The rest of the shop is finally starting to come into focus, now, as he peers around into the corners. "If they are Jedi hunters, they've likely been out of work for quite some time. Competition is stiff."

[21:52:24 Rey Skywalker

Rey's eyes go from the shop owner to the hatch that looms open, with the threats of danger below. "Send him first." She says of the Shop Owner who started all of this, she starts toward the hatch and glances back to Aryn. "Aryn, stay up here and keep our backs covered if you can? We'll contact you via comm-link if we need to meet up elsewhere." To Ben, Rey looks then. "We're here for a Jedi Holocron. They're important, they can teach us things that books and journals cannot." She pauses now near to the Shop Owner and points to the hatch. "Lead us." She tells him. "We'll follow."

Her gaze levels and she has a calm, serene, but serious expression on her face. "We did not come here to rob or harm you. We're keepers of the peace, not thieves. We'll pay you for this item, a fair amount. But we need it if it exists. A Jedi's holocron is linked to this site, and you've been nothing but shady since we've arrived. Something hides down below and it best that we find out what."

She motions to the hatch then. "So go. You're first." Her lightsaber is pulled from her belt. "No more shifty stuff. We're more capable than you might believe."

[22:01:40 Yuun

The Nautolan nods his head as he looks to Rey who states that he has to lead them down, he nods his head. There is a grimace on his face as he listens to her and he looks to everyone here. He than will go down the trapdoor. Yuun moves in behind him and begins climbing down, Yuun nods his head to Zan who informed him of the danger below, "Thanks." he says to her and he waits for Os'car to head down further, then he moves down next following the old Nautolan, though he's trying to keep quiet as best he can as he climbs down the ladder.

The Nautolan is making his way down also keeping quiet and the decent is a long one, it's also dark as well and narrow. There is a light towards the bottom that shines faintly illuminating the bottom enough for everyone to see. There is no one at the bottom.

[22:10:21 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender adds to the treacherous shopkeeper, "Best of luck," as the descent begins. Taking his own turn after Yuun, the young man sets booted feet on the ground, and takes his unlit training sword in hand. Quietly, "I confess I did not expect a peaceful descent." A shrug to Elrych, before he regards the Nautolan, again. "I suggest you inform your superior that we wish to barter for one of his prizes."

[22:14:37 Zandra naMurielr Zan takes her own turn going down the ladder, pausing to let her eyes adjust. She's lucky enough to see something, and she frowns. "There's someone down the tunnel - something big, with metal. Maybe it's someone with a big blaster rifle?" she hazards a guess. The young initiate speaks very very quietly, but she does speak up, making sure the team knows what she's seen. Her own hands go to her lightsaber, so it's in hand, ready to go, but not ignited.

[22:17:31 Elrych Cometburn

"Could be..." Elrych says after climbing down into the tunnel. His shades had slowly turned transparent of the course of being in the shop, becoming normal glasses now that help him correct his nearsightedness. He still had trouble at times though. "Herm..." He looks towards the foot steps in the dirt. "I certainly hope hey're running away and that the Holocron is down here unharmed and easily taken." Things were never that easy, but a Jedi could wish for a simpler end. "Stay frosty... They might try to box us in this tunnel."

[22:23:38 Ben Solo

"I know what a holocron is," Ben replies tersely to Rey, the Ysalamir still bothering him, but he follows in after the others towards the trap door. It doesn't take him long to descend the ladder, plopping down into the passage with a twin boot-thud. His lightsaber and the blaster pistol he carries both remain in their place on his belt. At the bottom, after the others have made their assessments, he points off in a general northerly direction. "I got a bad feeling about something off that way, so I'd say it's a safe bet that's where your puzzlebox is." Hands fall on his hips as he squints towards whatever Zandra is describing. "I hope it knows something good."

[22:28:14 Rey Skywalker

Once at the base of the tunnel, Rey gives a glance up the way they'd come and then adjusts the bag strapped around her torso. She looks on ahead and listens to what the others say, the lights on the walls at least keep this place somewhat traversable. "Keep your wits about your." She warns everyone as she passes on further ahead, her unlit saber at her side held in her right hand. "If they had one of those Lizards, they could possibly have more. At the slightest hint of your connection to the Force dimming, let us all know."

Rey presses onward though, now moving up toward the front of the pack, on edge to say the least, but she's keeping ready for any surprises to come while reaching our with her senses to hopefully see them before they come!

[22:42:17 Yuun

Hearing that he needs to do something because Os'Car knows the people he works for and knows that this may not end well for him. Looking around and seeing the containers, "It's me Ole Os'Car, don't shoot, I have some people who just want to talk!" the Nautolan calls out loudly hoping that his people will not shoot. He looks back at the Jedi, "Please this could not go well for me, they would probably kill me..." he stammers out looking nervous now.

Yuun unclips his lightsaber from his belt, taking it into his hand. Yuun is looking down the hall, having heard Elrych call to them to stay frosty. That's what he does, "Use the containers for cover." he tells the others. He nods his head to Zan, "Thanks for the heads up Zan." he says to her.

A human male is looking down the corridor, he sees the group along with Os'Car. A sneer creases the mans face and he hears Os'Car, he shakes his head knowing that he's in a bad position becuase the others went back into the main hideout. "Nah, you ain't coming no closer!" he growls towards Os'Car and the Jedi.

[22:49:21 Ban Iskender "Refreshing to hear that a Jedi might know something 'good', sir," Ban notes to Ben Solo with a wry note to the words. His eye follows Zandra's point, and he nods to acknowledge Ben's warning. As they proceed and approach a guard, Ban asides to Os'Car, "Trying to kill people without provocation or s an organizational habit, then?" When commanded not to come any closer, Ban stills his steps and answers, open hands shown at his sides, "We are not thieves. We have come to negotiate for a item in your superior's possession. We are prepared to bargain fairly, but the attempts to kill us have grown.. tedious. Your associates would be wise not to repeat them."

[22:53:56 Zandra naMurielr Zan does take cover behind one of the crates, a thoughtful look on her face, as she gazes from one to the next of the two folks who seem to be down here. "I don't like this," she murmurs, which is probably no surprise. She isn't completely in cover, wanting - needing - to see what is going on. Ban's words are taken in with a little smile. Zan can do intimidation - well, okay, the lightsaber can, so she usually keeps quiet unless she thinks it's needed. She lets Ban go right ahead though she drifts to the closest container near him, so she can get a better look, still have some cover and be ready to move if need be.

[22:56:31 Elrych Cometburn

Elrych does have his Lightsaber in hand but it still isn't lit. A precaution to be armed just incase blaster fire came or there was a sudden attack. As they come upon the man 'counting', Ban who is just ahead of his speaks. Elrych adds to the plead for a peaceful resolution. "Listen, we just want what we came for. Literally have offered to /pay/ you for it and ya'll are still trying to kill us. Come on, now. Let's be reasonable."

[23:03:16 Ben Solo

"You realize if you offer to pay me for something I don't wish to sell, I'm not obligated to sell it to you, right?" Ben points out from the sidelines, his large frame not really lending itself to hiding behind cover, so not much of an attempt is made. The dark clothes he's wearing may assist him in blending in a little bit but it doesn't seem like that's his play here. "And if you take it anyway, it's still stealing, even if you leave money behind. I just feel like that bears being said." His weapons stay where they are. "Maybe it's not theirs by rights to begin with, but I doubt they see it that way."

[23:07:27 Rey Skywalker

Rey lets the others do the speaking as she observes from the side of the corridor, her eyes glance to Ban and Elrych, then go to Ben. "It's all a matter of point of view. The item belongs to the Jedi Order regardless of whether they see it that way or not. But the compensation will be fair." She looks back ahead again, then adds in a muttering voice. "As much as we can make it at least."

Finally she speaks up, her turn. "We're members of the Jedi Order, we're not here to cause a fight or a tussle with you or your associates. We come in peace, searching for relics of our lost Order's heritage. We need them, we can't leave without them, but we don't intend to harm anyone to get them. We're here to help you profit, if nothing else. Lets deal in reason over this item, if it's even here at all."

She glances back to her companions then and raises her right eyebrow slightly for a second before looking ahead again.

[23:15:09 Yuun

The human shakes his head, "I don't care who any of you are.." he laughs, "You're not getting anything nor are you getting out of here alive wannabe Jedi." the human says. "Don't be stupid, they are the real deal Kash, and I'm here..." A blaster bolt hit's Os'Car right in the chest and he wasn't wearing any armor. The Nautolan drops to his knees and falls face first on the ground dead. A laugh escapes him from the opposite end of the tunnel, "Who's next!"

With what happens Yuun ignites his lightsaber and tries to intercept the blaster bolt, but misses and he looks back down the corridor, and he begins moving quickly down the hall using the durasteel containers as cover, having to get into range before he can attack.

[23:18:16 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender gives a slow exhale, "You assume we would take it by force? Telling, sir," Ban returns to Ben, an indignant sniff punctuating the observation. Back to the guard. "Those who hold such relics as we seek have come under deadly assault by those who will not bargain, as we do. They will simply exterminate-" he does pause and do a slight double take to Rey's declared view of the situation. A short clearing of his throat. Back to Ben: "My apologies, it seems some of us *are* brigands." Then, the shooting starts, and Ban voices a sighed curse as he recovers and ignites his sword.

[23:22:54 Zandra naMurielr Zan startles as there's a shot fired. Poor nautolan dude was in over his head. At the words spoken, she draws her own lightsaber. It's already in hand, so it doesn't take much to extend the blade. She stays with cover, but begins following after Yuun, because he can't go there on his own. "We stick together," she says. Ben's cynicism - ignored. "Fighting and war isn't always the answer, but that doesn't mean it's never the answer. Sometimes, it's the last resort." Now she has the light saber, and she gives big and stupid a long look. "You are in way over your head. You really should just drop the weapons and give up." she offers him a last chance.

[23:23:06 Elrych Cometburn

"Except it was listed for sale on their advertisment... Or at least up for auction a while ago." Elrych responds to Ben, "So yes... it was for sale. Aparently, this was a lure? I don't get it either. Honestly, my brain hurts thinking about it so I'm not going to anymore." He glances to rey, pointing his unignighted saber at her, "Yeah... yeah. What... What she said. That's it." Someone asked a Combat Pilot who was kind of an adrenaline junky to be diplomatic and it went just about as well as expected. Of course, there's a groan from the Jedi as they dig in and choose the way of combat. "Alright. See, I was /trying/ to be good." His Blue blade comes to life, held open at his side. "Come on fella's last chance, really. Real Sabers, Real Jedi... real... well... I'm sure you can guess the rest."

[23:34:20 Ben Solo

Ben's expression furrows into a frown, his lips pursing together. "Hold on," he mutters to the others, who've already activated their lightsabers, and steps out into full view into the center of the hallway. His hand swings up and out towards the other man, probably more forcefully than necessary, and he says with a voice of command, not suggestion, "Drop your weapon."

The rifle clatters to the floor.

His fingers curl in and push out again, and all of them can feel the pressure in the atmosphere from what he's doing. "You don't want to fight. You want to take us to your leader so we can make a deal."

"I... don't want to fight. I want to take you to my leader so you can make... a deal." There's growing panic and distress on the loutish man's face.

Ben's hand drops and he lets out a puff of air, his eyes falling to look down at his palm. "...A lighter touch next time."

[23:38:14 Rey Skywalker

Rey's eyes glance to her friends again as they start to activate their weapons once Os'Car drops to the ground. She'd felt the desire to flip her saber on as well, but they were heading down a literal shadowy path here, a lot of unknowns still lay ahead. She's about to speak again when Ben interjects and performs his mind trick upon the shooter. She draws in a light breath and starts to walk forward now, passing by Os'car on the ground she glances toward him before back toward the one Ben had just reached out to convince. "The Holocron, an ornate box. We're here for it, and only it, then we'll go."

[23:47:46 Yuun

The human male gestures for you all to follow him, he shakes his head and his rifle stays on the ground. He looks back to Ben and waits for him and the others to join him, "The Boss is this way, his has your shiny box." he says in a bit of a slurred voice. Yuun moves from behind his cover and deactivates his weapon, he sighs as he shakes his head. "A lesson is learned Ben, thank you." he says to Ben Solo and he begins following the human male.

If everyone follows, he leads everyone out of this tunnel and into a larger cave, voices can be heard heard and in certain places you don't feel anything at ALL! The man continues walking until you find a rather large human woman sitting on a large container, "Kash you brought us company, who are they and what they want!" she says as the other men an women around her face the group of incoming Jedi.

[00:00:45 Zandra naMurielr Zan also disengages her lightsaber, giving Ben a nod, also learning. Clearly. Though she looks thoughtful, her lightsaber still in hand, if not all lit up like a holiday tree. As they arrive, she takes in the number of people around, and the rather large woman. "We came to buy the puzzle cube," she says with her best smile. "As we saw it offfered on the holo, and wanted to come negotiate a fair price for it." She figures she might as well get started with the discussion, starting off on a hopefully good foot.

[00:09:52 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender adds after a slow breath, "More directly, this relic places its holder in considerable danger. Even the rumor of Jedi artifacts has drawn destruction on whole worlds, madam, and if we have found you, so too can those with less discretion. I pray you," he bids with a short dip of the head and shoulders. "Let us reach some agreement on the matter that will see you enriched and this relic borne away."

Elrych takes a look around, reaching out with he force, or attempting to. His voice deep and even, commanding. "You will accept our terms..." He felt some resistance, which was usual for more strong minded individuals... "OR I' mean... heyyyyy." His voice becomes lighter, recovering from his mistake and letting his betters in the field of negotiation deal with the situation at hand.

Ben lingers in the back of the group, letting the others deal with the situation now in terms of the actual agreement to secure the holocron, doing his level best to avoid sticking out too much despite the fact that he's easily the tallest person in the group. He keeps looking over his shoulder at the way they came and those spots where the normal connection to the Force was disrupted, already dreading walking back through them.

As Rey walks she clips her saber to a small hook on the bottom of her bag that she pulls around and starts to dig around inside of while walking. She pulls out her leather bound journal and flips to a specific page that while the others talk, she continues to keep her nose buried inside the book flipping pages. She comes to the proper one and lifts it up, then turns it to display it, before she taps it with a finger. "One of these." She says, indicating to a well drawn look at a Jedi Holocron. "We have credits. We'll pay handsomely for it, and yes, being rid of it will help keep you safe from others who are far less agreeable than us." She glances to her companions then.

[00:23:29 Yuun

The woman looks to the group, and she looks to her own people. She thinks for a long moment before she says something. She reaches into a nearby box and pulls out an ornate cube, it's gold and silver with clear plasteele inlays. "Yes I do..." he stops as Elrych speaks up after Zan and Ban. Her eyes narrow slightly at him, her gaze goes back to Ban and then Rey. "I don't want no fight and if you have teh credits it's for sale." she says. "I'm wanting 100,000 credits. This is old and yes it's a Jedi Holocron, you can't fake these and I'm sure you're able to tell." she doesn't jest, she is straight and to the point. "If you have the credits, this is yours. But once you get this, you leave and don't come back."

[00:32:01 Ban Iskender Ban Iskender inclines his head with a tight smile. "Under the circumstances, I will forgo the traditional haggling after cost. Please, do not be offended," he notes in deadpan humor. "One hundred thousand credits, with our immediate departure, and no further meddling on either side. These terms are acceptable, madam. If you will hand over the cube, we can provide your price."

[00:35:45 Zandra naMurielr Zan simply falls back, letting Ban keep going now, as he's got things well in hand it seems. She does eye the cube in the woman's hand, trying to verify if it is real or not. And her gaze goes to the folks who are here, but there's no need for anyone else to die, not this time. Not - if they can help it. She glances at Ben a time or two, thoughtfully, but this is not the time or place to say more, and so she stays quiet. She'll help with credits if need be, handing over whatever is in her pockets if needed.

Elrych wanted to scoff, to pffft, to laugh at such a low offer on such a precious item... Then again, he was kind of flush in cash with nothing to spend it on. He had everything he needed right on his ship. He wilingly gave money away. So perhaps, it was ironic he thought of it as a low price or maybe he just thought it worth more. Either way, he reaches into his cloak and pulls out a few credit chits. "Should be about a quarter of the cost right here."

[00:44:28 Yuun

The Jedi all gather up their funds and Ban is handed the money. The woman gets up with the Holocron and walks over to the group and holds out her hand, and at teh same time offers the holocron to him. Yuun keeps an eye on her people who are watching them, weapons aren't drawn but ready for action if action is needed. Once the exchange is done, there is a look of relief coming from the woman, "Alright now leave back the way you've come." she tells the group and she backs away not turning her back on the group. Yuun nods his head to the mercenaries and he backs away as well allowing the group to leave with their prize. They aren't followed and once they leave out of the shop and get back to the starport. Everyone is able to leave and now a new Holocron has been collected for the Jedi.
