Participants: Jedi Order, Yuun, Zandra naMuriel, Ban Iskender, Elrych Cometburn, Bizz Bliptettjupp, Aryn Cole
It's finally time to embark on this journey, the Jedi Zan's ship. With the coordinates provided, the trip isn't a long one, everyone was on Arisnar doing various training or having come at the call to go on this journey. It's not long until the group make it Denon, as the ship lands on the landing pad and the public ship yard. It's an open port for those coming and going.
Yuun gets up from where he is sitting and he looks out the window, as the ship came through the clouds and the sky, it's a bright and sunny day, from the readouts, it's warm with a breeze. Yuun looks at everyone, "Now the little bit of information I have, this holocron was auctioned and moved around, this is the last place it was reported at being at." Yuun says as he moves to the landing ramp, "Hopefully there will be no need to fight, but we still need to keep our heads on a swivel. HOpefully some of the more diplomatic of us can help if we need to talk to whoever has the holocron, if not and we need to go spulunking, I hope eveyrone is ready to get dirty." Yuun smiles as he walks down the landing ramp.
Aryn is quiet for most of the trip, seated at a table and looking out a window when they were in hyperspace and entering the atmosphere. Yuun's words stir her, and draw Aryn from the depths of her thoughts. She rises to follow him out, sweeping a cape into place over her shoulders and clasping it with a white gold broach of Alderaan. She leaves the hood back, for now, allowing the warm breeze to shift her bright blonde hair. She pauses at the foot of the ramp to see who else is coming, but she speaks to Yuun. "Are we meeting a contact somewhere about this?"
Elrych Cometburn strolls down the ramp with the others, lenses in his thick rimmed glasses transitioning to a much darker shade as yhey hit the light of Denons sun. "So its been publicly auctioned as a holocron. Im surprised tye Knights or worse didn't get to it yet." He pauses a momement. "Ah crap... this migjt be a trap." He groaned.
Zan certainly is okay with flying folks there, since she has a ship and all. And it's even a reasonably speedy one. She's quiet though, once they land. She makes sure the ship is good, refueled and with any maintenance done before there's trouble. Just in case. She looks over at Aryn speaks, and smiles, before her attention goes to Yuun. It's a good question, it is. Finally she says, "Wait, did you say spelunking?" She looks over at Elrych, an eyebrow raising. "Anything is posisble. They might be just a touch disjointed though."
Ban Iskender exhales slowly through the nose when Aryn and Elrych speak. A nod to the latter. "It may at that, master Cometburn. If nothing else, the potential danger of such should aid any attempts at persuasion, though for same of cleanliness I hope it is as simple as descending a cave."
Bizz Bliptettjupp is the resident historian and is hunched over a book. It is a physical book, and contains physical pages, some missing. "These auction house records are incomplete. But it does list the noble who bought it. But how the Artifact got to Denon..." The rotund monk is just talking to himself while polishing off a nutritious cup of beer. Then when the ship lands he hops up and grabs his walking stick, waddling after Yuun.
"It's not advertised as an holocron. Just an old artifact." he says as he remembers the information he gathered after speaking with the holocron of Luminara Unduli. Turning to look at everyone, "From what I was able to gather and what I was able to get from Bizz, a Noble by the name of Rin Praji." he doesn't speak loud, though he does move in close to speak with everyone so that they can hear him without anyone eaves dropping on them.
Yuun takes a moment and looks to Bizz as he speaks and nods his head, "I don't know which auction house had it, but this was a while ago, so we will need to maybe check antique shops and such and see what we can find out." Yuun tells them. Shaking his head, "I'm sorry, there is no contact person. This was years ago, and I'm just hoping it's still here."
"I'm hoping we can find it soon, but there is no rush. I don't think this is a trap, but we have to be wary. This is a big place. If we are going to start looking, we can just ask around but I think we should start with some antique shops and so on. Maybe we can find some leads." he offers.
Aryn grows quiet as a name is given. She pulls out her datapad to see if she can look up this noble. Her first search renders a famous chain of refueling stations, and her second search across the holonet renders a chain of establishments based in Nar Shaddaa that have Aryn's cheeks flushed within a second of looking at it. "Can you spell this noble's name? I'm having a poor time researching them." Her hand rises to guide her hair back behind an ear, content to lose herself in this research.
Zan pulls her datapad and quietly does some research, at the same time as Aryn does. She frowns a bit, shakes her head, as her first check comes up negative. But she keeps going, and then she glances up. "Oh. Hey." A pause. "There's a district out there about an hour away that might possibly have some info. There's a shopping area there that handles antiques and that sort of thing. I don't know if it will or not, but it's worth checking out? What do you all think?" She turns her datapad, random one she picked up, around so the others can see the info on the shopping area.
The planet is one massive city. Without a clear starting point, Ban seems to be suffering a degree of decision paralysis. "Are we to just.. pick a direction and *guess*?" the gentleman wonders aloud. Looking about himself, brows drawn in a baffled frown, the noble soldier-turned-initiate voices toward the nearest sentient, "My good sir, might you direct us toward the nearest Republic embassy? Or, failing that, perhaps a member of the constabulary?" He gets nothing but a suspicious look and the local hurries away from the weirdo in robes. "I think," Ban voices to Elrych and Zan with a short sigh, "You're on a far better trail than I."
Bizz just wanders along like a tourist. He isn't the best at Holonet research and prefers physical records. He is an on-the-ground archaeologist, accustomed to having his nose in the dirt. He disappears into an antique shop seeking leads, but reappears a few minutes later with nothing but a peltogyne xellwood figurine of a duck. For the orphans back home.
A Torguta female mechanic walks over to the group, "Hello, who is the owner of this fine vessel?" she asks. "It would be a Hundred Credits to park and do you need any refueling or any work to your vessel?" she asks as well. Her BB-Unit rolls up next to her, it's a sky blue droid, the Torguta has her datapad in hand and looks to the group.
Yuun looks to Zan as the mechanic asks her questions. "Yeah Aryn I can help." he smiles. He offers her the correct spelling of the name Rin Praji. Yuun than looks to Elrych, "That's true we always do, but hey this is how we do things." he chuckles a little bit. Looking to Zandra as she speaks up, "Ok looks like we have a direction." he says. "Ban when going to look for things like this, most of the time we have to go places no others will go." he says.
A third search ensues, but to no avail. Aryn had mistyped it yet again, despite Yuun's direction. When Aryn has corrected it again, she hits search and is overwhelmed with the amount of data that is pouring in. "Lord Rin Praji.. us very popular here. I'll update you all as I read." Aryn glances up to see the picture/direction that Zandra has offered. She nods, and gestures. "I'll follow you all. Just don't let me get lost. I hate big cities.."
"Says here, Lord Praji's estate was accosted by master thieves. The item, the relic in question, was stolen."
Elrych Cometburn glances towards Ban, "And yeah sometimes you gota go to a random planet and feepmyour way around. Answers aren't always obvious and the Force works in mysterious ways." He raises and eyebrow as he looks towards aryn, "So we should be looking for criminals..." He looks back to his datapad. "Not seeing mucu on the holonet bazzar but... there is a high priced artifact being sold in the diatrict Zandra Mentioned... Called 'Notaproblem'." The Corellian pauses. " Wgat kind of name for a store is that?"
Zan looks at the Togruta, and she smiles. "Hi there. She's just fine thanks. I'll certainly pay for parking though, but I just had her looked at. If I let someone else do that, my mechanic will desert me, and then what am I going to do?" she asks, sounding both like she means it and like she's sharing a secret with her. "But hey, while you're here, is there a speeder or a taxi or something that'll get us over to this place?" She shrugs sheepishly, and then adds. "If we seem like tourists, it's because we are." She laughs and then turns back to the others. Her ship's locked up. She's not letting anyone on it who isn't with them, but she does pay the parking fee, so they have a docking space for a bit.
"Somewhere no others go," Ban echoes, skeptically. Turning a look around at the dense cityscape, he mutters, "Perhaps an art museum?" he guesses, disoriented and sounding uncharacteristically snide. Elrych's commebts draw a short nod and exhale. "Yes, of course. Pardon my slipped temper." A sniff of dry humor greets the name of the discovered shop. "The.. legally dubious kind, master Cometburn." A nod to Zandra's efforts in securing them a ride.
Bizz puts his souvenir in his satchel and stands on his tip-toes to read off Aryn Cole's data device. "Thieves stole his artifact, and now they are auctioning it? By the FORCE, they are bold ones!"
"Yes ma'am." the torguta mechanic says. She begins to walk away and she heads off after the payment is made. Yuun turns and looks Aryn as she speaks up and he nods his head listening to her, taking in the information she provides. After a moment or two a speeder pulls up with the Torguta mechanic in it. "I like your ship, so consider this on the house. It should hold all of you." she turns off the speeder and tosses the comm codes to Zandra.
Yuun looks to Aryn as she speaks up about Rin, and than later the thieves. His attention goes to Elrych and he nods his head. "We will see, though it has been years. So hopefully they still have it or someone else. We want to get it back peacefully." he says to them all. He looks to Zan and Ban and nods his head. "Well Bizz, we've never said they would be." he smiles. "Looks like we have a ride." he chuckles.
With the speeder in play now. Aryn moves to one side to find a seat. Preferrably one with restraints! She reaches for the handle of the door, opening it, and stepping on board. She brushes her cape over her lap, then closes the hatch behind her. A twist of the upper body, and Aryn pulls the strap over torso and clips it in. She's ready!
Elrych Cometburn hops into the transport and sots as lazily as possible, plugging in an earbud attached to his datapad in order to listen to some sweet tunes.
Well, in that case, Zan catches the keys, and flashes a grin at the Togruta. "Thanks," she says easily. "much appreciated." She gets into the driver's seat, because it seems someone has to. "Flying speeders - yeah, sure, why not? Shall we?" she asks. "Come on, let's go." There's a wicked grin on her face, as she looks happy to be flying something different, yet again. "As for what's in the shop, I guess there's only one way to find out."
Ban Iskender gives a small dip of his head and shoulders to the Togruta, before joining the others aboard the speeder. He takes the opportunity of the speeder ride to blindly attempt that terribly abstract 'feeling the Force' nonsense the others had made mention of. "As you say, mistress naMuriel."
