Catch The Light: Finale

Participants: Rey, Ax, Nora Frayus, Yuun, Zandra naMuriel and Vega

While others had decided to settle on Tattoine while they were recovering from having their religion banished, Vega had returned to Ahch-To for a bit to see how the Mining Island was coming along. She was also there to offer assistance in getting things in final working order so that they'd have one less object on their list while they searched for a new home. Everyone in the Order had a hand in the end of this journey in the end.

There is a message sent out to those of the Order that their Kyber source was no longer an issue.

Now all that was left was the final reveal!

The mining elevator took the group down to the main chamber that had been cleared out and was no longer covered in dust. The main walkway lead through to the underwater tunnel that lead to the crystal cave's domed top. The other two corridors went to a work area that might someday be a lightsaber crafting area, the other corridor seems to be unknown for now. It could be decided down the line. There is the soothing glow of water that ripples on the other side of the thick glass, passing fish and other sea creatures can be seen swimming from the main chamber. It was neat looking!

Vega's been running around down in the corridors and tunnel making sure that everything was set to go and that nothing had sprung a last minute leak.

Because that would be bad, mmkay?

Nora Frayus is a member of the party of Jedi on the elevator descending into the mining tunnels on Ahch-To. As many of her fellow Jedi are likely willing to attest, it is not often that the young noblewoman is quiet. In the moments that the Jedi Order reaches the bottom and begins their journey down the hallway with the heavy, reinforced glass, Lady Nora is well and truly speechless. Her head turns in all directions, eyes squinting as pupils attempt to adjust to low light to make out the various forms of sea creatures that swim and flit all around. Something's got to give, however, and thankfully (at least for now) it isn't anything in the corridors springing a leak.

"It is beautiful down here," Nora says. It's more to herself than anyone individually, though certainly loud enough for those with her to hear.

Ax hadn't exiled himself to Tatooine, as he had a wife and children and a home on Chandrila. Fortunately, he had fast ships and could get to most places quickly when the need arose. When the call went out that all the work on Ahch-to had shown progress, he was quick to make his way here. "You've definitely accomplished a great deal, Vega," Ax says. "Color me quite impressed. I know that a lot of us chipped in, but this is hands down a testament to your skill and dedication," he adds with a smile.

Ax's eyes drift towards the viewports, watching the sea life progress. "Any signs of our serpentine friend lately? Did she take her eggs and depart, or is she still around? I'd really like to bring the twins here to see her through the safety of the glass one day."

Exiled, honestly how he never thought that would be something that he would ever have happen. But then again, is it really? Standing on the lift going down, Yuun smiles, he's impressed with the work Vega has done. "This is amazing." he says as he looks around. Yuun looks out the large glass at the fish that swims past. He looks up at the doomed ceiling, a show of wonder shows on his face. "I'm speechless." he chuckles as he looks towards Vega.

"I agree Nora." he says hearing her comment, he then looks to Ax, a brow perks up. "Yeah have you seen it while you've been working down here?" he asks.

With the lift arriving at the base of the shaft, Rey takes a step off after some of the others do. She glances her eyes around at what lies down below, and then just starts to explore. Dio's head pops over her shoulder, peering over it with his little search light going on the side of his conical shaped dome.

"It's still spooky." Dio says from behind Rey's right arm.

"Oh, I dunno. It seems like it's precisely what we were hoping for." The young woman says as Dio vanishes behind her back, then reappears in his backpack and peers over the other shoulder. "Hoping for spook-spooky.... bad idea, R-Rey." He warns her.

Zandra quietly moves along with the crowd, looking curiously over the results and noting what has changed since she was last here. She nods to what the others say, and then eventually adds her own, "I think this shows how guided team work can work really well. But I do think it definitely needs a good guide."

Vega gives a bit of a smile, "Not all my doing. Not by a long shot. We had a lot of help and thankfully a lot of materials here." the white haired woman states with a dip of her head to the others. "The younglings and others were helpful with plans as well." she muses to that. Bizz's orphan's might have been around at one point, who knows. "Please feel free to wander, this place is for everyone in the Order. And it turned out far more beautiful and peaceful than I thought it could be." the black robed woman motions to them.

"If you go down that main tunnel it'll take you through to the cave where we released Chione and they've started to mine down into the surface, that's where the main veins and offshoots of kyber are." she explains to them. Ax gets a look, "She's been around. I think her eggs hatched though so we'll have little ones of hers. I'm hoping that they don't get too bitey on the things surrounding us." she chuckles. "But that means life is prospering here and it is good to know." she admits.

Down the tunnel there is the opening to the cave that has been emptied of water, leaving the sides of it lined in shallow pools where corals are growing underneath. Stalagtites are dripping from the ceiling, casting shadows in places. The lights from the water reflect in blues, pinks and greens, giving the cave a beautiful lighting. The path widens, following the dip in the ground where the entrance doors to the kyber mine are.

"Master Skywalker, did you want to be the first one in?" a few people ask as they part the way, allowing Rey to move to the front if she chooses.

Nora continues to look around the cave tunnel as the group moves into the central chamber, but stops just at the point that it widens into the entrance. She glances over her shoulder and looks to Yuun beside her, offering the man a soft nod and a smile to his words. When the question is asked to let Rey in first, Nora's feet stop just short of the widening of that chamber into the main mouth of the cave. Still, she's already able to see those glowing crystal formations scattering beautiful, luminescent like in the dark. Her lips purse. She's used to seeing so many beautiful things. Breathtaking vistas. Exotic locations. And yet? Things in the galaxy still manage to surprise her.

She steps out of the way to allow the Jedi Paragon to move towards the front and, should she choose, be the first to enter.

Ax smiles to Vega. "While you didn't do all the work, you were the lead on this. That allows you to take a good bit of credit, and gratitude from the rest of us."

He looks about a bit more and steps to the side when Rey is offered the first look into the crystal cavern. "I look forward to bringing new recruits here to pick out the crystal for their first saber. That was one of my favorite things to do before Ilum was destroyed."

Yuun smiles to Nora and he looks up at Vega as she speaks about the work that has gone into this place. "I agree with Ax." he says about taking credit for the work she's done. Though when Vega speaks about Chione having come around, "I hope to see her again and her little ones." he chuckles. He looks to the others and when it's asked for Rey if she wanted to go first, he steps aside as well, standing next to Nora. "I can't wait to explore all of this place, I like the feel of it here."

"I agree with Ax." Rey softly says as she advances a little further. Dio peaks around to the person offering them the first chance in to the tunnel, two which he answers for both he and Rey.

"N-no, thank you." He says before Rey glances back at him, then forward, and nods once. "We'd love to." She says as the droid goes back behind her head to look back at the others, or hide.

Rey moves forward in to the chamber where crystal deposits are to be found, and she looks in to some of the pools of still-standing water.

"If is... exactly what I envisioned we'd find. Or, at least, Hoped." She says as she advances in further, first. "This will give the Order a bit of easier breathing, I should hope. Less need to ... scour the galaxy for them now...."

Zandra settles in to look out the tunnel at the sea life just out there. She listens to the conversation still, quiet and meditative. Contemplative. Her gaze stays on the fishes swimming by outside their tunnel but a smile crosses her face. "So much to do, so much to learn," she murmurs. "Getting our crystal or crystals is of course important, though scouring the galaxy does have its moments. But perhaps not for the younglings so much - maybe it's a bit more of an advanced task." Says the woman with the purple saber crystals.

Vega gives a smile to the group and a bow to them, "The children from Devaron were very helpful. Little rocks need to be moved the same as the big ones." she admits. She then gives a look back towards the tunnel that can be seen when a shadow passes over, "We've got a few shark friends that have been curious of the views, but so far nothing violent. I think we can be assured that the glass is thick enough not to break unless we're under bombardment or there is a long pressure put on things." she tells them.

Then she quiets to watch Rey go into the mine tunnel a smile on her face. Dio gets a grin, "Nothing's going to hurt anyone, Dio." she whispers. Then she steps back to allow others to go visit the mines and look at the crystals.

Because it was a pretty sight!

Nora Frayus meanders into the central chamber of the cave only after Rey Skywalker makes her first steps in. Following a short ways behind the Jedi Paragon, Nora breaks off to go exploring about the cave in the dark and in the quiet. It's unusual for the young woman to be as quiet as she is today, but perhaps the magnificence and splendor of the cave speaks plenty for her. As she approaches one of the clusters of luminous blue crystals, she reaches out towards it. Her fingers never quite touch the lattice of the crystal, however. Just... barely over the top. Less than an inch away, and following where lattices form sharp, clean edges. Her lips purse.

"And these are what focus the energy of the saber's beam, yes? And give it their color?" she wonders out loud, but with her location, that voice might be a bit far off for others to answer directly. She closes her eyes briefly and inhales. The sound of crystalline harmonics twinkle like windchimes in her head, but for a moment, they resonate into one, pretty tone. She opens her eyes and smiles, finally reaching out to tap that light blue crystal.

"Pretty thing," she says.

After Rey goes in, Ax is soon to follow. "This is amazing," the Echani smuggler and jedi says with a broad smile. "One day, I will bring the twins here and let them choose their own crystals. I look forward to that day."

He looks about, taking it all in before looking to Nora. "That's a simplification, but yes," Ax says. "Few crystals have the right structure to handle the amount of energy pouring through them, which is why these are so valuable, and why the enemy destroyed Ilum."

Quirking a brow up as Vega mentions the children from the Devaron helped, "That's great. A good way to continue training and doing something new and fun." he smiles. He watches Rey walk into the main central chamber as well and he waits a few moments and follow in after her and Nora. His eyes scan the area, he only gotten to see Illum once and it was very brief, but now this is something totally different. He tires to work his mouth to make words but Yuun is stunned to silence. The crystal chamber is amazing, he's in a trance as he walks along the side looking at the kyber crystals that are here.

His first crystal was given to him, but this time he hopes it will be different. Upon hearing Rey, he looks to her, "I didn't know what I was hoping for really, with everything that we've been dealing with." he pauses, "Amazing." is all he says. Yuun looks over to Zan seeing her looking out through the window, he nods his head agreeing with her. He turns around as Nora and Ax speak. "How are the twins Ax?" he asks. Yuun steps through a puddle, as he continues looking around.

Rey spends a moment to look up to the windows that were put in to secure the place and keep it as dry as possible. "You know. It might not be a terrible idea to stow some suits here in the cave, in something that can keep them in good condition. Just in case... something were to flood the chamber, while people were here." She notes before she continues to explore a little herself.

She hears the others, and looks to where Nora is. She smiles toward her faintly.

"If one calls out to you, Nora... claim it as yours. Typically that is how the Jedi chose in the past. A strong bond with your saber crystal, leads to a better talent with the blade it'll produce... OR so they say."

Rey walks up a small incline of rocks toward a shimmering vein in the wall, Dio shining his light upon it for her.

Zandra waits until the others make their way in, and then she follows along. She stops to look over at the shadows that move over the tunnels, but also nods to Vega, accepting her word on things. Certainly, this sort of building is not Zan's strong suit. She pauses once she gets into the crystal area, before she moves out of the door and just stands there soaking in the atmosphere, the beauty and the coral. Metaphorically speaking. "They are," Zandra says softly, replying to Nora. "There are other rarer and stranger crystals as well, which some folks have been and will be lucky to find. Still they generally so far as I know work in the same way." She flashes a grin at Rey as the Paragon goes for the more practical note. "And always what Rey says," she puts in. "Should a crystal call to you."

Vega gives a smile as she looks over how the unveiling is going. "I'm going to go let the young ones and the initiates in if you guys want to make sure they don't get too handsy." she states. Then the black robed woman turns to head back up the path to RELEASE THE YOUNGLINGS!

They come hurrying down into the main room, looking over everything in awe.

Vega stays in the tunnel that connects things, her hand going up to touch the glass as one of the sharks swim over, "Just keep swimming." she muses to herself as she lets others enjoy their new kyber home. They needed the momentary joy.

Ax looks to Yun, "The twins are getting big. I swear, last week I was feeding them from a bottle and changing diapers, now they're picking out their own clothes and Blossom even makes her own sandwiches now. If only they'd clean up their rooms it would be great."

Ax looks to Rey. "Not a bad idea. At least have some inflatables on hand, just in case." Then, to Vega. "For what it's worth, from an initiate, you did well, Vega."

Nora turns to look over her shoulder at the others. Though some distance away, their voices echo off the cavern walls, amplifying their sound. When Rey speaks, it sounds as if she's standing right behind her. Nora laughs a little and turns her head. "How should I know if one calls to me?" she asks, as if the question itself is silly. But, then... a lot of this would probably have seemed silly some short time ago. So the young noblewoman from Alderaan closes her eyes, inhales through her nose, and exhales again.

Like before, there's the sound of crystals. Ringing, tinkling like windchimes. Distant and discordant and far off -- like in a dream. But the more she focuses, the more she can single out... one. One little sound -- a ringing, pretty sound threatened to be lost in the chorus of all the others. But one deserving of recognition. Of being heard not only as a part of a whole, but entirely on its own.

Without realizing it, her feet have carried her a few steps away from that light blue cluster she'd spotted earlier and towards another. Her feet step lightly and when she opens her eyes, it's before another cluster. A slightly darker blue. And seated at its center -- a fractured crystal, ready to take. She frowns, reaches out, and takes it between her fingers. Resting in her palm, she peers down at its structure, pink hair slipping from her shoulder and framing her face.

Yuun stops where he is just standing there looking in wonderment at the crystal chamber. He looks at everyone and a part of him is elated and he knows how big this is for them. A resolve comes over him as a need to make sure this place stays hidden from the New Republic and Sith. For now he thinks on what they cna do to further to protect this place.

A smile shows on his face as he hears Ax, "They won't, I know I didn't when I was a kid." he laughs. He looks to Vega, "Sure and Rey I will go look for more suits just in case." he says to her.

Zan watches as Nora gets a crystal and smiles. "Very well done," That to Nora, and then a nod to Vega. "Ax is correct, you have done well," she says simply. Then she's surrounded by younglings all asking her questions. Which she patiently starts to answer, kneeling down to speak with them.
