Phyllia Hart

Race: Human
Sex: Female
Profession: Combat Medic
Homeworld: Ralltiir

Background

Phyllia grew up on Ralltiir, during the days of the New Republic. She was from what would be considered an upper middle class family, living a fairly comfortable life. From a young age she studied martial arts as a hobby, a skillset that would be useful later in life. She did well in school, and went into secondary education to study to be a doctor.

Everything changed when the Sith Empire attacked. The war turned hard very fast. She dropped out of medical school to enlist in the army as a medic, driven to do her part to defend her homeworld. This did not go well. Years of ground combat chewed up her people, and ate away at her. She quickly lost count of how many people died under her hands, and even more quickly learned to try to not think about it. The war was lost, and the planet fell under full imperial control. She was one of the ones that managed to evacuate off world, as the empire was not expected to follow the rules of war concerning prisoners of war or in dealing with surrendered enemy combatants.

She wanted to be a doctor before the war started and that mindset still lingers. Reality makes that an impractical, if laudable goal these days. Not only can't she save everyone, she's had to take lives. And she'll probably have to take more. She's not in the best place mentally since the war, and she hasn't had the inclination nor opportunity for therapy. Instead she tries not to think about it when she can avoid it. This goal is helped mostly by distracting herself, either with work, drink, or in stranger's beds. Money helps too, she's not exactly greedy but a girl's gotta eat, right?

She never finished medical school and she's a combat veteran, her skill set now lends itself to a more mercenary career path. And where that takes her largely depends on who's hiring. What's left of her people is either under the imperial boot or scattered across several quadrants, so she's on her own with no support network, family, or real friends. She doesn't have her own ship, either. So she's looking for work to keep feeding her food and shelter addiction. And drinking money too, of course.

And so after all of that she eventually drifted out to Nar Shaddaa, with the rest of the listless and criminal element. She's got a serious grudge against the empire, but that war was lost. Sure, there's some people still trying to rebel and keep fighting the Sith, but at this point she's too depressed about the subject to think that's really feasible. She's trying to make money and not end up dead in an alley somewhere. Since the war, her life has been a series of short term plans and jobs.
