Talk:TIE Fighter
From Star Wars: Age of Alliances MUSH
I will update this with pics as I can find them.
I will update this with more info from the Visual Dictionary when it arrives courtesy Amazon on Thursday.
Enquiring minds want to know:
- how many missiles can it carry?
- how will it get statted in the game system?
- how does it land without a grapple?
- is everything I wrote (culled from Wookiiepedia, largely, and interpolated with educated guesses) true?
- It's not in the Visual Dictionary. We only know they can have missiles because Poe tells Finn one of the fire controls handles shooting missiles.
- We have no idea yet. Space battles right now, as far as I know, consist of competing +taskrolls, so the stats may only matter for speed getting around and for time spent in hyperspace.
- No clue. Maybe it has crazy-extensible landing gear? Having seen the stormtrooper stun 'baton' extend from nothing into a giant electro-mace, I can believe anything.
- I didn't see major inaccuracies on my first reading. The main thing you don't mention is that you are referring to two different models of TIE Fighter, and you switch back and forth without explanation.
- Thanks for writing this up! - Stavros (talk) 19:54, 4 January 2016 (PST) (Hux!)
- I noticed one thing! The turret the gunner controls appears able to face either forward _or_ back. Finn fires it forward when destroying turrets on the Finalizer during the escape sequence, and then fires it backwards to knock out a missile while they fly towards Jakku. The turret is below the main cockpit, so it is feasible that it rotates, and given the movie, it seems highly likely. - Hux Stavros (talk) 20:49, 4 January 2016 (PST)
