Tracking a Blood Moon
OOC Date: November 30, 2017
Location: Nar Shaddaa
Participants: Qadira_Suuryet, Ax, Nezlani_Bebarv, Jax_Greystorm, Sesti_Greystorm, Waywards
Finally. It took a while, because these Blood Moon guys are actually rather good at covering their tracks, but Nez was finally able to track down the crew that attacked the Hangar. Or at least, one of their warehouses. It seems that the pirates store their goods here before selling them out into the market of Nar Shaddaa. Where is here? We're looking at an underlevel of the Corellian District.
The full crew, Nezlani Bebarv in his Wayward Scout Armor with his E-11 at the ready, Ax wearing his Jedi Knight gear, Jax, Sesti and Kadi doing their things, step off of the rental air speeder and into the streets. Only moments ago, Nez gave a briefing into the tactical situation. Now, they have a plan. They'll make their way through the streets and come up and under the warehouse. The goal? Cripple their operations and gather intelligence in the process.
"Just up ahead a little ways. Seems there is an entrance to the warehouse they didn't know about. Which works for us, we might get the drop on 'em." Nez explains as he leads the charge. "As always, Kadi keep to the rear with me. Sesti when we get inside, you'll take point followed by Ax and then Jax. Any thought you guys have before we make it to the Warehouse?"
Ax stretches, trying out the new armor after spending most of the day resizing the damned stuff to fit properly. He checks the energy cell on his blaster, keeping it drawn, though his lightsaber is hanging from his side within easy reach. After all, it's been great in the past for making doors where there weren't doors before. "Keep my wife safe," Ax says towards Nez. He moves to Kadi next, leaning in to give her a kiss. There's a bit of a deep breath afterwards as he tries to focus his mind on a protection 'charm' of sorts.
Like any ground combat, Jax actually was quiet on the ride over. The hood of his Wayward scout armor pulled up. Though he maintains himself at a calm. The Corellian working quickly and quietly checking his weapons. Then at Ax's order to Jax then adds, "And Keep out of mine's way, if you like to keep your limbs." He says giving Sesti a grin. Then falls silent once more.
If Kadi has to shoot, it's trouble time. Seriously. She knows she's here in case there's engineering skills required - to get through a door quietly or the like. She does have armour on, though nowhere near the heavy stuff most fighter types wear. She stretches up to return Ax's kiss, with a whispered, "you better keep you safe too." And then a bit louder. "Everyone stay safe, okay?"
Sesti's got her usual blades on, and a medpac strapped to her back, walking briskly, but alertly, next to her husband. At the mention of her taking point once they enter, she gives Nez a look, and then looks to Jax. "Alright," she replies. She keeps a hand near one of the shorter blades at her hips as they move towards the door.
As the crew makes their way through the steets, they are given a moment to plan and prepare any additional details they think will be useful for the coming fight. Fight- Because there is sure to be one coming up, that much is practically unavoidable. They are going right up into one of the hearts of the enemies base of operations. This is where they control all of the sales and output of their market.
"You got it boss." Nez replies back towards Ax, nodding his head with agreement. Towards Jax, the Lethan gives an amused grin, nodding at that. Having the best range of the group, Nez should probably stay to the rear anyway.
When the Waywards arrive at the door, it seems to be to some abandoned private home. From what Nez was able to find out, someone was dumb enough to be playing with explosives here some years ago. Seemingly, they blew a hole right into the underlevels of the warehouse, before it was later taken over by pirates. As Sesti tries the door... Drats. It's locked electronically.
"Why couldn't these be real pirates and this been a space battle?" Ax mutters softly as they draw near the building. "Need help with the door, Sesti?" he asks, looking down to his lightsaber but then looking at the electronic lock. Hell, shouldn't be too difficult, he'd broken into shiping containers numerous times as a youth. Of course, it was probably better that he let someone else do it while he keeps watch.
Kadi looks at the lock, and then over at Ax. "Do you mind if I try?" she asks, moving to that lock and looking at it briefly. She attaches one of her engineering gadgets, fiddles with the settings, as she tries to open that door. There's a glance over to Ax, as she says, "Better to do this one quietly, if we can. I suspect you'll get lots of chances to use the noisy method as we go." Busting doors down is so not Kadi's specialty. Within a few moments, there's a soft beep, and the door clicks unlocked.
Breaking into electorinic locks is a skill Jax hasn't relearned yet. So the Corellian to up a position to be read to over Sesti as she tries the lock. "I'm sure Sesti's got it. " Then Kadi's getting inovloved." Jax falls slilently and let the engineer do her thing.
"It is locked, Kadi?" Sesti looks back to the engineer. "I could probably do it, but it would be best if you did. You would pick up any traps better than I would." She steps to the side, and turns to look back over their shoulders until they hear the click, and the beep. She draws her vibroblade in one hand, and then reaches down to her boot, pulling out the stun baton. It telescopes open, but it doesn't crackle to life just yet as she looks to Jax to open the door for her, ready to go in point.
Kadi is a pro at opening doors. So, the aforementioned obstacle is a minor thing. At the beeping sound, the door slides up and open, letting Sesti lead into the private home. The air in the place is stale, and what little furniture is left is covered in several layers of dust. All of the telltale signs of time are here. While Sesti leads the group, she is easily able to find the refresher that has a hole right where the toilet is supposed to be.... Which means the Waywards have to take a quick trip through a sewage pipe to get to the warehouse. A detail Nez may or may have left out.
"Nice job, Kadi." Nez grins towards the engineer as she works her magic. When Kadi falls back into formation near him, he drops back into his fighting stance. "Right, let's keep this as quiet as possible, huh?" Says the nearly seven foot tall, red skinned Twi'lek carrying an assault rifle.
Ax grumbles at the sight of the sewer pipe. "I really prefer space combat," he mutters to himself. His steps are soft and he's able to move without making a lot of noise. He makes a bit of a "pfffft" sound, raising his right hand up in a gesture to say hold position. He then brushes a hand on Sesti's shoulder and mouths, "Let me take point," before moving ahead, using his instincts to guide them around potential threats.
Kadi grins at Sesti, nodding once, and then she steps back to her position near Nez. His grin gets a return smile, followed by a bit of a gulp. Buh - wha? Move ... quietly? Oh boy. She looks forward and then cringes a bit at the sewer trip. "Well, at least maybe it's not in use?" she offers, cause well, she's an optimist. Her gadget goes back in a pocket and she takes a breath. "wonder how long we will have to hold our breaths for."
Jax stands there looking at Ax going down a sewer main. He looks over at Sesti and Kadi. "I hope his senses are better than mine. If I was trying, we'd probably be hip deep in poodoo for no reason." He shakes his head, "I'll cover and go down the hole right before Nez. If that's alright?"
"You want to be the first to jump down a refresher hole?" Sesti asks Ax with a purse of her lips. She steps back and motions, "be my guest," she tells him, and stands aside to let him go first. She looks past Ax to her husband, then shrugs and follows Ax down the hole.
The sewage pipe is very much in use still, despite the lack of pressure that having a gapping hole in it causes. Which means that it's a bit thicker, and... Quite a bit worse on the nose. They aren't exactly swimming in it, mind you, but the water is just below knee level. For Nez. Nez's knee level. Sesti leads the group into the stinky pipe, and then as the Waywards press forward, Ax takes the lead, taking his guidance from the Force. With that, the crew is able to narrowly avoid several patrols while they make their way to the main floor.
Covering the entire lower half of his face with one hand while the other remains on his weapon, Nez struggles some to prevent himself from gagging. "Hopefully not to long." He whispers towards Kadi, following Ax, Sesti and Jax as they lead into the pipes. It doesn't take long until the Waywards get through the pipes and onto less terribly scented ground. Following their lead, Nez drops his hand from his face and returns it to his weapon, wielding it with two hands again.
Now, they are on the main level. Here most of the product is kept. Cargo droids and spacehands move about constantly moving crates of spice and other illegal goods regularly. On the next level up, if Nez's intel is correct, is where the pirates keep their 'live cargo'. Or rather, their slaves.
"I wore the wrong armor for this," Ax says in a whisper. He keeps his pistol in hand, in front of him. "This way," he whispers, glancing back to the others, motioning them to the exit of the sewers, and he's really looking forward to getting the hell out. Once out of the maze, he waits for everyone to join him. "Alright, Nez. Where to?" he asks, still keeping as soft a tone as possible and still be heard.
Kadi doesn't like the squishy stuff at the best of times, and sewage? Yeah, she's looking a little bit green around the gills. It's a good thing Nez keeps from gagging, cause if anyone else does, Kadi is more than likely going to immediately follow suit. "My vote is to toss all this armour and get new," Kadi replies, quite seriously. Cause ick! Sewer!
Jax jumps in behind Sesti. He lands in the pipe, "Remind me to incinerate this armor later, and take a shower in bacta after the regular shower to kill any pathogens. Yes I heard Sesti say Pathogens the other day and they're a bad thing." He moves silently with is pistol drawn and ready to fire.
"I wore armor to keep the enemy from hurting me," Sesti replies as she settles in behind the Echani. She doesn't seem to have much trouble with the stench as others, although she's not looking too happy with it, either. He lips quirk and twitch a bit at the sound of her Corellian husband using the word 'pathogens'. She keeps her weapons above the level of the gook.
"I saw we go up one level and see if we can free some of those slaves. Who knows, they might even be willing to help us bust up this operation, huh?" Nez answers towards Ax. With that, he takes a moment to look around at the rest of the crew. Sesti, Jax, Kadi... Everyone is hidden behind a large cargo crate, planning their next move. "Then, we can try to get to one of their computer terminals and see what Kadi can dig up for us."
Ax nods. "Sounds good to me," he says. "Let's get this show on the road. I have a date with a large bottle of soap." Pistol still in hand, he starts looking for the way up, preferably a way that doesn't end up with them having to cut their way through a ton of people.
They all have a date with a large bottle of soap. Kadi mutters, "They're going to smell us coming," almost seriously. She takes a cautious breath, and then another, as at least the stench is less now that they are out of the tunnel maze. "But I can follow so long as someone leads the way." She sticks with the others, as well as she can.
"Fine to me, Nez. You got a plan to get us up there. A route or something. I mean I'll follow along and do what I'm told til it time to start shooting." says Jax.
Sesti waits until the rest are there, and at Nez's suggestion she shrugs. "They may get in the way, but if they want to try to help, that is fine with me."
Most of the patrols of pirates are rather oblivious, probably being hopped up on spice themselves. So as Ax takes the lead to direct the crew to the next level up, he's able to sense and direct everyone that way with some help from Nez's occasional chime in with direction, the Twi'lek whispering from the rear of the formation. When everyone makes it up the stairs and down a hallway or two, Ax and Sesti turn a corner and there, they see it. Dozens of rows of single person containment cells, all holding a mixture of sentients. Most of them, however, are either Wookiees or Twi'leks. Each cell is controlled by a single main terminal, and each sentient has shock collar already in place.
Once arriving, Ax looks about, sheer disgust on his face at seeing the collared slaves. "These bastards are going down," he mutters. He takes a deep slow breath, trying to calm himself. "Alright, let's see if we can do something about the collars. I'm fairly certain I can get the doors open. Nez, Sesti, make sure we have cover. Jax, help your wife."
Kadi looks, frowns, and heads to the computer terminal. "I'm heading for that central terminal, but I don't know about the collars," she says. About all the warning her friends and family get before she is moving, so she can get there and work to open the containment cells, at the very least. Once there, she starts concentrating on what she's doing, depending on the others to keep her safe. It's not quite as quick as the door to get to the sewer, that's for sure. "Ax, can you - " A pause, as she realizes he was also headed for the terminal. "Unless you want to?" She stops briefly, but only that, as she gives her husband an apologetic look.
When the shields on the Cells go down, Jax goes the cell closes to him, "Alright we're here to get you out of here. Let me help with that stun collar." He says to a Twi'lek woman. He steps up to her, "Alright this should be easy." He says reaching up to help take the Twi'lek. His finger slip on the last circuit. Resulting in both the Twi'lek and Jaz taking a shock. The word Scutta escaping the twi'lek's lips.
Sesti walks down the aisle between the cells, her purple eyes dark, but her expression the usual. She pauses in front of one cell as she waits for them to be opened, a wookie that can barely stand. As soon as she can, she stows the stun baton back in her boot, and the blade to her back. She steps forward, and reassures the slave that she is there to help. She understands his objections, then his answers to her questions as she begins to work on his wound. She gives a grunt as her bandaging gets tangled in his fur, her fingers not as deft as usual in her hurry to get him bandaged, and using up more of her gauze than she would like. She moves on to a couple other slaves once she's finished him, trying to suss out the worst ones, since she's used most of what she had already.
Waywards making their way into the scene causes a stir. The slaves peer up, looking at their rescuers with confusion at first, then alarm. They quickly become frantic for help, but for the most part the crew is able to keep them quiet so that they can work. When the slaves are tended to, and most of their wounds and collars are lifted, those who are capable of fighting quickly dig up whatever weapons they can. Pipes, clubs, anything in cargo crates available. Now we're talking. We've almost got a small army here, ready to fight.
With the slaves being freed, Ax looks to them. "My name is Ax. We are members of the Waywards and I hope it's obvious that we're here to help," he says. "If you'll follow us, we'll get you to safety. If you want to fight, then by all means arm yourself with whatever you can find. If you don't wish to fight, then try your best to stay out of the way. We'll get you all out as best we can, and if you want, we'll get you off planet." He then looks to his comrades. "Alright, let's go deal with some filthy slavers."
Once the doors are open, Kadi simply moves over to listen, and keep a watch on what is going on. She'll try to remove collars if there are some that need her help, but if not, she just keeps watch, ready to sound the alarm. As Ax speaks, she watches with more than a little bit of pride. "Alright, let's go." She's about ready to stay back and out of the way now.
The command center for the place is still just a short walk away on this floor. However, the Waywards have other things on their mind. Seems revenge will have to wait. Ax is still able to take the lead with the Force and guide the group out with the Force, though with such a large group... The challenge is much larger. Sesti has to work over time some, silently making sure to run up and take down a few thugs here and there. Eventually, everyone makes it back into the sewage pipe, getting the slaves freed and ending the mission.
For now, that is.
