Droidnapped?
OOC Date: November 18, 2017
Location: Nar Shaddaa
Participants: Qadira_Suuryet, Nezlani_Bebarv, Jax_Greystorm, Sesti_Greystorm, Waywards
The Corellian Spaceport was in the middle of one of the night shift and the sky is thunder and letting loose from the sky. The rain is pouring down and sentients are hussling from one place to another as they try to stay out of the rain. Air Speeders zip by dodging, the storm, the building, and each other. It looks like a flood is coming.
Kadi is on her way back to the hangar, having been out and about. She's gotten drenched, looking like a drowned rat, no doubt, and her droids are equally unhappy. The daring quintet come pelting along at as high a speed as Kadi can muster, dodging here, dodging there - and where is that hangar door anyway?
Of course, if Kadi is going out, she needs security. So as she makes her way back to the Hangar, Nezlani Bebarv follows her from behind, canted off to one side. Wearing that typical Wayward Scout Armor, the Twi'lek is also soaked from head to toe, likely taking the affects of the rain much worse than Kadi. In fact his posture is curled into itself as best he can, shivering wildly as he struggles to keep himself warm.
The Sky cracks again with lighting. Jax and Sesti were flying back to the hanger in a air Speeder. Jax looks at Sesti, "Glad we rented an air speeder with a retractable roof." He looks over at her as he dodge an angry Rodian flying a delivery air speeder. Long distance to Jax Greystorm: Qadira Suuryet acks. Sure, go ahead, but there will be hell to pay. :)
Kadi glances back at Nez, feeling a bit sorry for the bedraggled security guard. "C'mon," she encourages. "We're almost there!" Lily beepburbles her own encouragement, sounding somewhat bedraggled, despite being metal. And of course, Kadi and running do not get along, so she has to keep stopping to walk, so she can catch her breath. "I swear next time I think it's a good idea to go out in this weather, someone knock me upside the head and remind me Nar Shaddaa is always horrible."
"Any kind of roof is good, now," Sesti tells Jax, trying to peer through the rain. "Hey... there are four droids and a woman running up ahead..." she looks to her husband, letting him fill in the blank as to who that could be, and... "that is Waywards armor, is that Nez?" She looks at the small confines of their speeder. "I do not know if we can fit the droids."
"That's what you said two blocks ago." Nez murmurs, not seeming even in the slightest bit convinced of what she says. Of course, he knows exactly where the Hangar is and that they are getting close. But they still have to get there, and he is convinced that he may very well drop dead on the spot in what feels to him like the freezing cold air of Nar Shaddaa. Twi'leks don't like the cold.
"I see that. I don't know if Kadi will leave her droids. Nez won't leave Kadi. But We can check." He says as he dodges a lighting bolt that nearly hit the landing pad as Jax dodges it.
The air Speeder truck that the Rodian was driving comes looping in on the same pattern as Jax. He comes into a landing and the side door of the truck opens. Five Jawas appear and one of them holding an ion gun, It opens fire shooting Lily with blue ion.
As the Rodian comes round, Kadi turns, wiping rain out of her face. They have a bit of luck on their side as the lightning near strike makes Kadi jump, distracting her at just the moment they fire at Lily. "Hey!" she calls out. "Hey!" She moves to where Lily is, actually pulling out her blaster first. Because she's going to totally defend her Lily! "You can't just - who do you think you are?"
"I know she would not leave all of them," Sesti is too busy looking at the woman she's pretty sure is Kadi when she sees Lily get hit and the light show around the outside of the hapless droid's form. "Hey!" she exclaims, and she's twisting in her seat to look for the culprit. "Lily never did anything to you!"
When weapons are being produced, all signs and symptoms of suffering from the cold are immediately dismissed, Nez reaching a hand out to yank Kadi back and behind him instinctively, despite how she steps forward to brandish her own weapon. "Get down Kadi!" He demands as he reaches for his old Imperial E-11, unfastening it from his harness system. It takes a moment, but as it comes to his center mass, he flips the power switch and the blaster hums to life.]
As Kadi and Nez try to protect the ionized droid. The truck lifts up and a wench with a electromagentic plate on it. The plate smacking into Lily's head and enganging. The droid starting to lift up off the ground. There's a yell of 'Utini!'comes from the back of the truck as Lily gets uncraciously lifted up like a fish." The truck lifting up off the ground.
Jax looks at Sesti, "What? Lily?" Jax brining the Speeder up next to Kadi and Nez. "Come on, Let's go chasing after them and get her back." He says lowering the window.
Kadi is pushed back by Nez, but she promptly moves to try to rescue Lily. "Never mind that, Lily!" she cries, as the droid is unceremoniously droidnapped. "Give back my droid!" There are too many people really to shoot, so when suddenly there's a Jax there, Kadi says, "Fluffy, Buster!" Okay, there's really a problem here for the poor woman. "Head home to the hangar and tell Ax," she tells them. "And take care of each other. Buster gives a very mournful sound, but the hangar isn't far, and the two droids head that way, as another bolt of lightning flashes. Kadi promptly gets into the speeder. "Hurry!"
Sesti keeps an eye on the truck as Jax pulls over to let Kadi and Nez in. "It is taking a left," she calls to hurry the two humanoids into getting into the speeder.
There is a lot happening all at once. First the truck is kiddnapping the droid, then Kadi is stepping off towards the truck and Nez reaches out to yank her back again, though this time he would halt that gesture just in time as Jax and Sesti pull up in speeder nearby. Rushing to board the vessel, the Twi'lek lowers and powers down his weapon. "Line me up a shot!" He shouts as he starts to replace his E-11 with his AFD-43.
The truck continues to tow Lily up inside as it continues to rise and turn and rise. It goes zipping away. The little droid still swinging in the wind as it gets towed in.
Jax turns and goes to follow the truck. The rain pouring on them with the top down. There's a flash of lighting and Jax calls out, "Lost them." He turns to left as Sesti instructs him.
Kadi is now about in tears, but she's staring out the windows, looking for the stupid truck. And her Lily who is being towed like she's so much scrap metal. "I'm going to feed them to Adder, piece by piece," she mutters. "C'mon, Jax! We have to get her back!"
Peering ahead, Sesti points. "Right! Up there! Just saw the tail end of it..." she keeps her eyes peeled. "Do not worry, Kadi. We will get Lily back." Her voice is tight, and there's a note of righteous anger unerlying it.
When Sesti points out the tail end of the truck, Nez heaves his AFD-43 to angle in that direction. "We got this Kadi, don't worry." He says, trying to take a soothing voice despite his own growing anger. Seemingly, Kadi's frustration is fueling the Lethans, as he normally wouldn't care as much for the droid.
Jax reves the engine of the air speeder tryig to catch up with the truck. It nearly has Lily pulled in. "Damn it. I need to catchu up." He says as he tried to zip in and out traffic and try to get through a difficult intersection.
Kadi continues to stare, wringing her hands as she watches. "Jax," she says, her worry and fear and anger obvious in even that one word. "C'mon, we have to catch them." Confidence in her friend is there as well, as she knows that Jax can do it. Of course he can. "Nez, be ready, there's going to be another chance, I know it. Just - don't hit Lily." No pressure.
It's pretty damned hard to line up a shot at the moment. Jostled by Jax's driving, Nez roars out with frustration as his bolt misses his mark. "Sithspit! Jax, hold this damned thing steady!" He shouts out, attempting to line up another shot.
Jax breaks through the traffic as Sesti sees an opening in the traffinc. "I'm trying Kadi. We're not going to looser " The Truck has flown over another plateform as it's trying to escape. It's givingiving Nez an open shot. So right before the droid is pulled up, his blaster bolt hits the line wheeling Lily in severing it. The little R2 goes crashing a 70 ft to the plateform below. Lily's going to need some repair work, like alot, but she's not droid captured anymore. The truck turning and run without it's capture droid in tow anymore.
"LILY!" Kadi screeches out as she watches the droid plummet. "Oh no!" and then that platform is landed on with a smashing crash, but it's - 70 feet not 70000. "Jax, she's right there!" And now her anxiety is totally obvious, as she is on the edge of her seat, fingers white knuckled and staring like she's about to jump through the windows. Lily isn't captured any more, that is the main thing, but the poor thing is definitely not going to be her usual self for a while. "Let's go make sure she didn't land on anyone. And rescue her."
"Haha!" Nez gloats loudly, the barrel of his AFD-43 fuming with smoke after a second bolt. This one, striking true and the Twi'lek seems to take a deep pride in the shot. "I told ya I'd get it for you!" He announces, not seeming to have recognized Kadi's anxiety just yet. As the droid smashes to the plateform, Nez peers over at Kadi, his grin breaking as he sees her expression. "Oh... Yea, sorry Kadi."
The platform was empty and diserted, but Lilly was smashed up pretty good. Jax brings the speeder in for a landing next to the little droid. "Nice shot. Kadi can fix her up. He starts to have the top put back up on the speeder. "Good thing this thing has a trunk and I got the insurance." He frowns. "Though nice shot Nez."
