Wanted Alive: Oozlevort
OOC Date: August 7, 2019
Location: Hutt District, Nar Shaddaa
Participants: Oozlevort, Domino Graystorm, Kasia Ashkuri, Sumi Kora
Oozlevort is marching through the crowds with a Huttese sign: Tee-tocky Kasia bolla! which translates roughly into TIME FOR KASIA TO GO. Very few aliens have joined him. In fact, it's hard to really distinguish the Gand from the rest of the press of crowd around him. Most people are just going about their business; protests never fare well on Hutt worlds. "Hey hey, ho ho! Time for Hairtriggers to go!" he announces through his breathing mask, stopping in front of the shop in question.
Domino crosses her arms and narrows her eyes. She is talking to a rather severe and rather buff human outside the clothing shop and occasionally gestures towards Ooz. The man shakes his head, waves Domino off and turns to umbeer north towards the Promenade leaving Dom by her lonesome to watch Ooz with open disapproval.
The Mandalorian was a friend of Kasia Ashkuri, and seeing the bounty go up amidst all the contention was not surprising. Taking the job on for herself, Sumi took to the streets in search of the noble Findsman. It served as both a professional courtesy to him to be hunted by another professional, and a quick paycheck since he had all but announced where he would be. Taking to the streets, Sumi follows along the outskirts, pausing with her weapon held at her lower back. She stood poised off to one side, watching through a silver washed T-visor of her Mando helmet.
Oozlevort eventually stops and just makes a circuit around the front of the Hairtriggers shop, pumping his big sign in the air. "Down with Hairtriggers! That rodent was sleeping, NOT dead." He walks in a circle as the shop's LE-VO droid watches. Various aliens wander past the short Gand on their way to business or pleasure.
Domino's gaze scans those gathered here and she spots the Mando. She peers a bit as if something about the woman's kit seeming vaguely familiar. Leaning against the shopfront of th clothier's shee smirks a bit for some reason though she shuffles cautiously towards the door of the Shop by a few steps.
Sumi did not see Domino, her gaze moved to the prize. The BHG interface locked onto Oozlevort indicating all the features that made him unique. <<"I have him.">> She said into her mic, though her voice did not emit from the helmet. The armored Sumi crosses the street and takes long steps toward the findsman. <"Oozlevort!"> She calls out, coming into view and maximum effective range. <"You know why I'm here. Submit to apprehension or I will take you by force. I'm only warning you once, as a professional courtesy.">
Oozlevort turns to see someone with a gun and armor, presumably a bounty hunter. "Take Oozlevort by force? You would not dare apprehend another bounty hunter! Oozlevort is a free being exercising his RIGHTS." He shakes the sign at Sumi and continues protesting, heedless of her hollow threats.
Domino calls out, "I will give you an extra twenty five grand if you deliver him a lil battered!"
Her warning was delivered and in short fashion, he refused to comply. His retort relied on the notion that she would not harm him for being a fellow hunter. Kill him? No. Sumi heard Domino, and it made her lips perk. The Mandalorian helmet tips down as Sumi suddenly reveals that she's been packing the whole time. Three shots are fired, the wide blue array of stun bolts. The third splashes against a wall harmlessly because the second put Oozlevort on his back. Sumi lowers her weapon and steps toward the findsman, toggling her weapon to kill should any of the protesters feel particularly heroic. Satisfied the Findsman is unconscious, she checks his breathing apparatus to ensure it is still in place before disarming him, then restraining him with binders. He's then propped up against the wall and held under guard.
Oozlevort is startled when he is shot in the carapace by a stun bolt. "Hey! How dare you shoot Oozlevort! He has POWERFUL friends, you scalawag Mando-" The Gand raises his sign, preparing to bash Sumi Kora across the head with it, but another stun bolt strikes him in the abdomen. The Gand doesn't have far to fall since he is short, but he falls hard, making a scene on the sidewalk outside Hairtriggers as he wallows like a drunken Herglic. "Ugh... Powerful friends..." When he is cuffed and forced to 'assume the position' against the wall, the Gand doesn't stop his threats. "Oozlevort will talk to the Hutt Council!"
Domino is clearly NOT a violent soul even if apparntly she is a spiteful one. When the first shot lands she winces. When subsequent shots lands she skitters back a couple of steps and lifts a hand to her chest in a grimace. She just watched that Dug take a lot of abuse in the blink of an eye, "Holy Kriff, remind me never to get a bounty on myself again. Blessed Stars!" she exclaims and then calls, "Come find me at Begula's place and I'll pay you what I owe you. Da-amn!"
Kasia steps out of the protested shop just in time to see Oozlevort hit the ground hard. "Well, looks like someone is out to collect," she observes, stepping to the side so she can lean against the wall just beside the door. "So is this the whole protest, then? I'm disappointed, if it had been more it might've gotten on the news, and that's great advertisement for the shop."
Sumi keeps her weapon out. <"Keep threatening me with a good time, Oozlevort, and those stun bolts will be the least of your worries."> Sumi had been in the process of holo-calling Kasia, but seeing her step out, the options disappeared from her HUD and she looks over at her. <"Delivered as promised, Mrs. Ashkuri. Where would you like him?" The Mandalorian took the Findsman by his collar and made him kneel before the master trader by kicking the backs of his legs. Her weapon is leveled against the back of his neck.
Oozlevort the Gand struggles against his undeserved shackles. "Ashkuri! Your shopkeep BANNED Oozlevort. That rodent was just SLEEPING. This is an outrage against the Gand people, and all non-humans!" He is unceremoniously kicked to his knees by the rather rude Sumi Kora. "Ow. Stop that! Release Oozlevort this instant."
Domino spots Kasia and after gathering up her courage trots over to stand beside the woman, "Unti I saw the bounty I was just going to replace the datafile the holonet references for his add and replace it with an Add for your shop but I was too lazy to make an add to replace it with. IF you got one I can make the switch and extend the contract for airtime on his dime." She does add "He is technically one of the cartel's so I can't let you keep him but so long as he doesn't wind up worm food to my witness I reckon it's fine."
"Well done, Sumi, here is fine, I just want to have a little conversation" Kasia smiles warmly at the Mandalorian as she delivers the Gand to a kneeling position in front of her. "Oozlevort, you have been told before that we do not accept rodents in trade. Credits only if you want goods from the shop. You didn't listen and got yourself kicked out, that's on you," she steps closer so that she's looming over the Gand even more than she normally would, arms crossing. "I honestly don't care what you are, as long as you have credits. That's the only barrier to you buying things in my shop. Or it was." She glances back at the door a moment. "You're going to have to do something for me before I let you shop here again, Oozlevort." She doesn't say what yet, letting the rest of it sink in first. "I'm honestly not too worried about this," she asides to Domino. "There is always someone screaming about unfair treatment here, and no one ever listens. I don't plan on killing him in front of you though, so don't worry." This she follows with a quick grin. "Probably not at all, as long as he learns to play nice."
Sumi remains reverently silent, nodding only to acknowledge Kasia's preference to leaving the noble Findsman where he was. Sumi audibly clicks the blaster to stun again, content to knock the Gand out if he decided to put up more of a fight. Domino was noted, and Sumi nodded to her too. When this conversation was over, Sumi would have no issue releasing the Gand and giving him his things back.
Oozlevort struggles in his binders. "The rodent was not for trade, it was merely an EXPLANATORY PROP. Your shopkeeper misunderstood the gesture because of his PREJUDICE against my noble people. Oozlevort has had problems with him before!" He gestures with his bulbous insectoid head at the inner shop where the supposedly-racist cashier resides. "But Oozlevort is always seeking the best deals."
Domino sighs and explains aridlyl "Your choice is accept the misunderstanding and learn that humans have a lot of prejudices. Adapt or sign up for mor punishment. You can sqawk about injuctice all your want but this district ain't just and there is absolutely no winning for you. Unless you enjoy being shot and shunned I suggest you do whatever she asks of you to make it right."
"You can prevent the issues by not bringing rodents into the shop," Kasia points out to Oozlevort in an even tone. "It really is that simple, but you won't hear it. Pay with credits, don't bring in rodents." She makes a gesture toward Domino. "She's not wrong, no one here cares that someone won't sell things to you. I find it hard to believe that my employee was prejudice against you considering you're the only person to ever make that complaint, but let's say for the sake of argument that it did happen. What do you hope to accomplish by doing this? Calling for a ban on my shop, instead of talking to me?" She clucks her tongue. "You gave me no choice but to take harsh action. So what you're going to do, Oozlevort, is you're going to clean the outside of my shop. Make it sparkle. Once it's clean, maybe some new paint. I don't know. It's going to look nice and fresh, and if you do a good enough job, maybe I'll drop the whole issue and let you shop here again."
Oozlevort grumbles. "Fine, Oozlevort will clean the outside of the shop. But Oozlevort wants to be unbanned from shopping. A Findsman must Find the best deals for his trade."
Domino adds, "I'll throw in ten grand towards his tab so long as he remains properly respectful. If he doesn't mind his manners-well." She smirks, "Nevermind-you got that down pat."
Kasia casts an amused look over at Domino and the offer. "Much appreciated. I do have some practice getting wiley people to mind their manners, with some degree of success." As long as you don't look TOO closely. "Alright, Oozlevort. You clean the outside of my shop, if it looks good, you can shop here again. But your shopping ban is only getting lifted if it looks nice out here."
Getting the confirmation to release the Gand, Sumi holsters her weapon and reaches down to free the restraints. She brings the restraints up and places them in a pouch on her belt, before lowering a bit to help Oozlevort back up to his feet. His weapon is handed back to him. <"You're free to go, Findsman.">
Oozlevort rises from his knees with Sumi's assistance, rubbing his throbbing head. It's like a hangover. And he whacked his head on the street when he went down. "Bounty hunters shooting other bounty hunters. Is there no honor left? No professionalism? For shame!" He rubs his wrists where the circulation was cut off due to the tight binder cuffs."
Domino snaps her fingers infront of Ooz's face "You. DumbNut. Pay attention." She makes sure she has his attention, "I fronted you ten grand at Kasia's shop. Consider it down payment on your good behavior. DO NOT make me regrett it." She then steps away and hrrms, "Wonder if there's even a doc that'll patch up a dug around here."
<"I /did/ warn you, Oozlevort."> Sumi pats his shoulder endearingly and begins to step away. A nod is given to Domino in parting gesture, and Sumi brushes by Kasia to step into Hairtriggers. She collects Oozlevort's sign and takes it inside to be disposed of.
Oozlevort cocks his head like an offended chicken when Domino dares to snap her fingers at him. "Oozlevort is a GAND, and he is thanking you to remember that." He brushes off his robes. "Oozlevort must find Marcan herb for this pain."
"You need to learn to pick your battles, Oozlevort," Kasia remarks to him with a smile. "But you'll either figure it out, or end up on the wrong side of someone else and maybe they won't be so generous with you as I have." Cleaning supplies are carried out of the shop by the employee accused of being a space racist, so apparently this was the plan all along. Buckets with soapy water, scrub brushes, all the things a growing Gand will need to make it so he's not shot again, and also can shop at Hairtriggers. When Sumi passes, she looks to the side with a smile. "I'll transfer the money to you, thank you for your quick action."
<"Yes ma'am."> And with that, the Bounty Hunter disappeared, content to report the contract fulfilled.
