Twi'Leks are Forever - Part One
OOC Date: June 11, 2018
Location: Ryloth
Participants: Defiance, Darius Wildes, Vasani, Sajin, Grom,
It should be dark. It is supposed to be dark. But the town of Chi'kari is too close to the bightlands, so the night is more of a cool overcast. Darius and Vasani, with them their friends, are back at this town for a simple reason. To move her family from here to Darius' family estate on Dantooine. There shouldn't be any trouble, or at least in an ideal world there wouldn't be. While keeping it from her family, Darius and Vasani have told everyone else to be on guard. Broc'kala, the one that tried to buy her over a decade ago might try something.
The Spectre, a YT-2000 has landed in a field of tall grass outside the Ilar homestead, as Vasani, Koyi and their parents start stuffing things from the home to the ship. Though there really isn't much to shuffle, so instead of helping Darius was watching. Was that shuffle of the grass someone moving in it or just the wind? Someone could walk through there without being seen if they crouched. What about that noise? No, just some birds. Safe to say he is on edge. "Vasan'ilar." Bril, Vasani's father says touching the arm of his daughter as they stand on the boarding ramp of the Spectre. "What makes my future son so nervous?"
Sajin had brough Faded Mist over to run escourt for The Spectre. "I need to get me a freighter or something... I barely had money to pay the technicians out here." Though he's saying this more to himself, or to Buckets from where he rests in the Astromech socket. He glances over to the others as they talk and load up the YT-2000. "I wouldn't worry Darius... I'll shoot down anything that needs to be."
"I mean, what doesn't make 'im nervous?" Vasani teases, taking anything her father tries to carry into her own arms. "he's worried somethin' might happen with Broc. D'ya think he'd ever come back or anythin? Did he ever do anythin' ta you guys after I left?" she asks her father as he walks with her to bring the boxes into the ship. "I guess word got around that I was back, so..."
Grom should be on guard, with blaster cannon and axe in hand. In case of trouble. Instead, the King of Fale is challenging Vasani's family to load him up with as much as possible, to see how much he can carry onto the ship at once. Because of course he is.
"Well, Sajin, when Ve and I upgrade to our next ship you can have the Spectre." Darius moves up to the YT-2000 now, another glance in a patch of tall grass, and then nods to the Hapan. "I'm more worried about us on the ground then when we actually take off. Well, not about us, about them" He gestures over to Koyi, Vasani's little sister, and Hirani, her mother, as they pile the last large box into Groms arms. It is the last of things, as they didn't have much, but it is a fairly large tower they have created for the Houk. "Thanks again for coming. "
Bril, Vasani's father, can't give much protest as she takes boxes from him. Instead he hobbles along next to her. "Broc'kala? No, never. Why would he cause us problems? He has always respected my guilt, even helped us in the few times we searched For you" He then takes a pause. "I-I don't think he'd do anything against us."
Sajin raises an eyebrow, "Gota find some shops somewhere, you know? Generally they make you trade in the other ship when you get a new one don't they. Takes some money off the top. I'll get one at some point no need to worry." He waves a hand dismissivly as he jumps into the cockpit and turns on the main computer, doing a check list. "Well I don't see anyone yet. If they mount a ground assult it's their funeral. You've a Houk on your team." Flipping switches, pressing buttons.
"ermm..." Vasani makes a questioning sound to her father. "The guy who wanted to buy me as a slave looked for me after I left? I don't think that makes me feel any better 'bout this." She shrugs, before placing down the last box she had been carrying. "YEAHHH GO GROM!" she cheers on her friend as he carries the last stack of boxes into the ship. "Thats everythin!!" she smiles. "Oh, Ma! After we get ya all moved in, can I ask ya ta make some food? I promised our friend Hex I'd bring him some a yer cookin! He's also from Ryloth, we had a good talk after the last time we visited so I wanted ta thank him."
"MORE! Grom can carry another! -What? There are no more? VERY WELL. Someone tell Grom which way the ship is, as Grom cannot see," the Houk rumbles, guesstimating the direction based on Darius' voice. The tower wobbles slightly, but he keeps it upright without much difficulty. On the heels of Sajin's words he bellows, "Yes, NONE could withstand the might of TWO kings. SO SPEAKS GROM." The Houk bumps lightly into one of the Spectre's landing struts, but holds it together, and gradually makes it up the ramp. From inside comes the echo of, "Grom wins!"
Hirani comes to Vasani and gives her a warm motherly smile, pinching her cheek. "Why didn't I guess that my cooking wouldn't survive alone with my little bandit? I'll make enough for a starving Hutt next time."
Darius flashes a smile towards Sajin, even as he is in his cockpit pressing buttons. "Not worried, but I'll make you the offer again when Ve and I upgrade to our next one. " A loud echo of Grom winning, and then another voice near him laughing, and clapping her hands. Apparently Koyi, Vasani's little sister, has been following the King of the Fale around a lot here and is very encouraging as he shows off his muscles. There is a snap of a branch, and Darius tsks. "I knew it. Ve, get your family into the ship! If it gets bad tell Drexen to leave." He unholsters his blaster. Who is Drexen?
Out of the tall grass a group of five rough looking Twi'leks appear. They are armed with blaster pistols, not really any armor, and some of them even look high. The walk with a swagger to get within shouting distance of the Spectre. "Oi, where is the sweet family running off to so quick?" The leader starts. "No, family ain't running off. Looks like they are being kidnapped by off-worlders. We got save them, don't we boys?"
"You know... I say it would be common sense." He says to Grom as he makes his declaration, the invading force comming out from the grass. "However, it seems that the stupid is not just with me or Hex... it must be every male in the species." He stands up in the cockpit and draws his DL-44. He hops up on the elge and then jumps off the cockpit and to the ground. Then, he picks a target and just starts shooting. "Oy, give it up or I'll sick the Houk on you!" He presses forwards with his blaster pointed down range. "Everyone on the ship, let's go."
"I think ya mean THREE kings, Grom! Yer forgettin' about Codsworth Glass-Eye! He's a king too right, Dare?" Vasani forgot Codsworth's royal title, but she knew he was some kinda important nobility or something. "A starving hutt? That should be enough ta feed Hex, ya think so guys?" she responds to her mother but directs the question to all of the defiance crew with them. Vasani is just sittin there making fat jokes about her boss who isn't even here and doesn't notice intruders until WOAH WHAT IS SAJIN SHOOTING AT AM I LATE TO THE PARTY? And she whips out her blaster, guarding her mother as she makes her way into the ship.
Grom tromps proudly down the ramp having successfully imitated a common load-lifter. Noting the approaching toughs, the hulking reptile looks downright giddy. "Ooh, TRASH NOODLES," he declares, searching about to find his weapons. The vibro axe was shoved through the back of his belt in the way smaller folk might carry a hatchet, so he recovers that first. Pulling it free the Houk waves it overhead (clattering against the lower hull of the Spectre, briefly falling out of his hand) and shouts cheerfully as he dashes straight at the approaching Twi'leks, "NOW IS FOR THE FIGHTING." Recovered axe once more brandished high.
Apparently, you shouldn't tell Defiance members you are gonna attack them, before actually attacking them. A lesson the loud mouth yellow Twi'lek will never learn as Sajin puts him down hard with blaster fire. The others scatter, all them taking random shots at Darius, Sajin, and Grom, one dive onto the ground to avoid Grom's Vibro-Ax.
Koyi was inside the ship and just hears yelling and doesn't emerge, Bril, who was with his wife and Vasani when the group showed up is taken back by the blaster fire. He throws himself in front of Vasani summoning all his strength to be as a large a body as possible to block her, his cane thrown aside. "Goddess I'm and old and weak, my family are not! " A plea of 'take me not them.' Though the mother quickly snatches her husband's arm and drags him into the ship with them. "You damn fool! Vasan'ilar isn't going to mourn her father tonight!"
"Your grace! Keep one alive but unable to move! "Darius says remember Grom telling Vasani to be very clear on killing specifics. Darius twirls his blaster and shooting down one of the spiced-up thugs. "Kill the rest." He doesn't yell the last part, but merely says it.
Sajin keeps the advance a blaster bolt scortching past his head. He seems not to flinch, his helmet covering his face. A blacke menace to this group. He fires at the one who shot at him, but the sucker moves. "Stop Moving!" He growls before putting a bolt through his chest then turning to aim at another fellow poping up to get a bead on him, catching that one in the upper side.
"I'm not THAT bad of a shot!" Vasani says to her parents, pushing them further into the ship as she runs around them and out to help in the fighting. Wham Blam Thank You Ma'am and her blaster shoots off. Once flying into the grass, who knows what was in there? and the other finishing off one of the twi'leks. She helped!!
Among the drawbacks of having a Houk on your side in a fight is the difficulty inherent in communicating clearly with a giant rampaging monster. Darius calls the polite request to keep one alive, but appears to be unheard above the din of terrified Twi'lek bruiser, a Grom shouting, "DEATH to the foes of Blue Cakes!", the meaty crunch of a vibro axe rending through flesh, bone, and more flesh, the subsequent thud of a flying body hitting the ground, followed by another thud moments later. At keast the Twi'lek isn't screaming, now?
Local thugs are just that. Local thugs. It seems Broc'kala's goons, or who they appear to be, didn't plan on actually fighting people that could fight back. Blaster fire and one Vibro Ax cleaving off a head, brain noodle and all, end any of their aspirations of moving into big time gangstering. One of the Twi'leks is still alive but out cold, now buried under the headless body of Grom's opponent. It having been thrown onto him by the Houk's strike.
Darius clicks his tongue. "Darius." A voice comes from the boarding ramp as a figure has walked from inside the ship to stand next to Vasani. And the figure looks exactly like Darius, identical even. It is his twin brother Drexen and while they are built the same there are differences. Drexen dresses in a suit, and holds himself with an air of importance. Where Darius is cocky Drexen would be confident. His hair is shorter, and he is clean shaven. "Am I leaving without you as you go finish things up? Or are we leaving together?" He has alone given a casual glance to the battle scene.
"Bah..." Sajin says as he holsters his blaster and crouches before one of his kills, searching the body. "What... these guys are piss poor crooks they ant got no money on them." He shakes his head and starts back towards his fighter, apparently not interested in any that are alive or not. He glances to Darius and then up the ramp to see. Darius. Oh no, don't confused the stupid guy. "Tw... EVIL TWIN!" He was going for his blaster again.
"I think we better all just go. I don't wanna stick 'round for anything else they had planned." Vasani answers the question for Darius. "Everyone make it onto the ship fine? Where'd Koyi go? Did she find Slasst in there or...- NO NO SAJIN!! Don't kill him! That's Darius' hot brother!" The hot brother? They look exactly the same. So yes, they are both the hot brother in Vasani's eyes. "He's here ta help us! GROM! Grom. You don't hurt him either!"
Grom is oddly unperturbed by the apparition of an allegedly evil twin. He may not be able to remember the name Darius, but he seems to know Drexen. "Why would Grom hurt him? The King of Fale has heard much of this human," he declared, yellow eyes holding on the well dressed human as the Houk walks toward the hatch. "Many are his famous deeds as recounted by the Barely Mammal, and now at last, you may have the pleasure of meeting the mighty Grom." With a nod to Drexen, as he walks past and into the ship, "YOU ARE GREETED, Fjord."
The call of him being an evil twin brings an amused expression to Drexen, but the doesn't smile. He merely watches Sajin go for his blaster and then Vasani jumping in front of him. As if, almost, bored by it he looks up to Grom as he approaches. "And I bet it is a pleasure indeed. A friend of Darius. No let me rephrase that. Someone who assists in protecting my future sister-in-law's family has earned my respect, at least for now. You are greeted, Grom." The Fjord address? It seems as if Drexen is in on some of Darius alter egos but makes no note of it.
"You heard Vasani, we'll deal with Broc'kala another time. Everyone is safe now and we can pay a house call at our leisure." Darius smirks, apparently he was also amused by Sajin about to shoot his brother. "Plus, I'm not expecting much trouble from him if this is what he has to send after us." He gestures to one of the dead Twi'leks. "Moving onto the ramp he hooks a finger into his utility belt. "So, shall we all meet on Dantooine to party and celebrate? Grom? Sajin?"
Sajin eyes Drexen with narrowed brows. As if to say, 'I'm watching you pal'. With a grumble he nods to Darius and heads to his ship, climbing up it.
"Wait... 's that one over there still kinda alive?" Does Vasani want to take him in for questioning? Finish him off? "We should totally do somethin ta fuck with him when he wakes up.... HEY MOM? DAD?" Nope. She yells for her parents to come out of the ship. "D'ya got any like tall spikes er somethin ta stick some guys head up on? That'd totally fuck that guy up." The way she said that.. was that a joke or does she actually want to impale that one guy's head? "Or maybe we can clean everythin up so it looks COMPLETELY perfect and he'll wake up havin' no idea where he is or what happened!"
"Grom had hoped for more worthy foes," the Houk admits, briefly glum. It passes quickly at the mention of a party and celebration. "Yes, it shall be a revel fit for kings!" A pause and sidelong, skeptical eye toward Codsworth. "Well.. two and a half kings. Grom does not recall Glass-eye as royalty. CERTAINLY not since losing his glass eye."
"I am merely a simple blue blood your grace." Darius says with a grin to Grom. "Especially without my glass eye. " Drexen looks at the three, hears what Vasani has to say and then simply leaves. And just as he does Hirani, Vasani's mother, shows up there. "Little bandit, we er- No we don't have anything like that. Your sister is doing all she can to get your father pinned inside. If we could perhaps leave as soon as we could." She then trails off looking at the scene with a frown. The family were not people hardened by battle.
"I got an idea." Darius says looking at the Twi'lek Vasani means. "Let's take'em with us for now. More space bees with honey than vinegar, right? Your grace wanna help me tie him up and throw him in the cargo hold?" "I mean I GUESS we could get some information from 'im... Not as fun as fuckin with him though." Vasani pouts for a second but then laughs. "Tell dad not ta' worry! We're on our way now! You guys got that? Okay." Vasani heads into the ship to go reassure her father.
Grom turns to Darius with a questioning grunt at that last. "Hurm? Yes, very well, much more civilized; which dead man's entrails do you wish to use for rope?" Because really, who would just travel somewhere with pre-made rope?
"Why not a little from each one? Keep it cultured?" Darius says and moves to go off with Grom to help removed entrails from multiple bodies to use as rope. The young Captain does have rope, but this seems more fun. Though he does give Vasani a wave before shutting the boarding ramp on his future mother-in-law. She doesn't need to watch him play arts and crafts with Twi'lek body parts. At least not yet. After they would be done he'd let them back in to get ready to leave.
