Log:The Irregulars: Nestled in The Warren
The Irregulars infiltrate the Riistar raider's Cantina and Hangout known as the Warren to steal some intel on their ship, The Booty Full.
OOC Date: September 14, 2020
Location: Courkrus
Participants: The Irregulars: Jax Greystorm, Dyannah Nerus, Qadira Suuryet, Nova Korell, Kael Greystorm, Nerys Greystorm, and Sajin
[Sajin]
The Warren was the hangout for the Riistar Raiders, the crew of scum pirates who manned the Strike Cruiser Booty Full. Said Strike Cruiser had been causing the New Republic Shipping lanes much striff. Rogue Squadron had chased them off once, taking with them half their compliment of fighters. Only a month or two later and they ship was back pullign transports out of Hyperspace and retreating back to an unknown hideout before Republic or Privateer ships could arrive to help.
Courkrus was a bust place at night and especially one the weekend. If people weren't enjoying Shala's bar at the brewery near the spaceport, a place this group of Irregular's had been before, they were at the Cantina's in the Aviary at their respective Gang hideouts.
The Warren was not special, it was far more normal looking than other Cantina's. Perhaps not as loud seeing as the crew of the Booty Full was deployed, that left only a few of the more lesser gang members about to enjoy the frivolities. The smaller, Red Nova Crew was off on mission too but a few of their ground team was left to mingle. Other patrons included locals and more rought types from off world.
Sajin was here already, drinking some swill moonshine. He had arrived before everyone else. Walked in like he owned the place, and just started drinking without talking to anyone...
[Nerys Greystorm]
Nerys Greystorm had a job. Nerys Greystorm always had a job, and she entered the bar with all of her usual exploring kit. It was clear, as she made her way towards the bar, that she was looking to get what supplies she could from the proprietors, as she checked her datapad for the list she had put together. Never a good idea to go out adventuring without the things you absolutely needed to survive. Like afew good bottles of alcohol. Tucking her datapad away, she made her way towards the bar.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael's coming in a bit after Nerys, walking towards the bar himself as he looks around a bit because he's there for the Mayhem or the booze one of the two. And the booze does look disgusting. "What kinda whiskeys you got back there?" For once the big man's not toting power armor and bristling with weapons however he does have his favorite twin blasters holsters at his hips.
(repose)
[Jax Greystorm]
"Whiskey kind of Whiskey, YOu want a shot or not?" The bartender tells Kael. A grim looking guy with stubble, dressed like a smuggler, and carrying a pistol. He's also wearing an eye patch. It's obviously his cousin Jax behind the bar. He's wiping off a dirty shot glass. Then hold it up to the light. "Speak up, I got booze to sling. You want a drink or not?"
[Nova Korell]
Places full of ordinary people aren't that comfortable for Nova Korell, thanks to her upbringing. Ordinary People are emotional, undisciplined, and unpredictable; Ordinary /Drunk/ People are emotional, undisciplined, unpredictable, and impaired, which makes an uncomfortable situation three times as much so. But her sense of duty and comradeship won't let her sit idle while friends are stepping into such a place for good reason.
So here she is, clad in innocuous armor and with a few showy trinkets to fit the local attitude, trying to stay close to the other Irregulars. Just in case the emotional, undisciplined, unpredictable people decide they don't like them... and she has to not like them back, hard and painfully.
[Dyannah Nerus]
Zeltrons turn heads in certain ports, whether they want to or not. The blue-headed woman is all in black, a ship's uniform that neither hides or confirms that this race of people is well-built, even those considered average among themselves being head-turners on other planets. The Countess, considered above average, holds her head high and ignores every eye on her, taking a spot at the bar not far from the King.
One finger brings the bartender to her; a softly spoken word brings a snifter of expensive brandy. She watches the barroom behind her in the mirror, pretending complete indifference to arrivals and departures.
[Qadira Suuryet]
Kadi is perhaps out of place in such an environment, but then, she does hang out with a smuggler fellow fairly often. She enters, heads over to the bar, carrying a datapad with her. She's even got her hair died multiple colors, and looks a bit punky. Rather like she's some sort of musician? Nah, couldn't be. After all, why would DJ Qad show up at a place like this?
[Sajin]
As those who enter look around, they might reciever a strange look from the usual patrons. Perhaps they didn't recognize them. Yet, with the majority of the crews away they go back to their drinking and games. Those looking for their potential informants: Filis Dill, Ram Stout, and Gregor Lister will find them here. Filis, a Devaron Female who was on the attractive side was playing a game of 'space pool' in the back with Ram Stout, a blue Twi'lek with a Dad bod that could compete with Hexash'kuri.
Gregor was setting up the stange for some performer... perhaps Kadi. He was a humon who looked more or less nerdy with glasses and everything.
Sajin looked towards Nerys, Jax, and then Kael as they approached. He tossed back another drink and remained Silent. It's clear why he was here. If shit went bad, he would turn into the raging Hapan and conduct grusome murder. This is the way.
[Nerys Greystorm]
"Whiskey will do. And two bottles to go." Nerys slid a credit chit across the bar, "The best you have, not the stuff you pass off to these poor saps." Nerys leaned forward, somehow managing to both rest her elbows on the edge of the bar to take the weight off and avoid the less than savouring patches of moisture that covered the bar. If they came from a clean, wet bar rag she had shares in a Hutt charitable organization to sell you. As she waited, clearly not concerned about getting the change back from her chit, Nerys turned to take a gander out at the bar, keeping one elbow on the edge.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael Greystorm hmmms as he looks the bartender over and shrugs, "Sure. Cept make it a double and hold the spit." He turns to lean against the bar and well look out into the crowd as he waits on his drink. Spotting the folks they're looking for he looks around a bit then makes eye contact with Nerys then pointed looks back over at the game, "Oh I haven't played that in forever maybe I should give it a shot after this drink."
[Jax Greystorm]
Jax reaches beneath the bar and fumbles around till he finds a pair of bottles that are covered and dust and aged. He sits them down in front of Nerys. Then rakes the credits and putting in the till. "Aged like a fine wine, for the disconcerning taste." He spits on the ground, "Anything you say Cap'n." Then pours Kael a double from a third bottle. He eyes the handsome Corellian's pay. Holding it to the light to see if it's legit. Then he's down the bar pouring Dyannah a glass of the aged moonshine. It was as close to the good stuff as she's going to get. Though he's going to be paying for that one out of his tips. He shakes his head hating it when that happens to him. He was watching Ram, Filis, and Gregor. Though he was waiting for them to come to him. Somebody needs something from the bar tender sooner or later. - You have nominated Jax Greystorm. [Nova Korell]
Nova quietly makes a note of the back door and the keypad lock on it, since she's got her slicer's kit along for the job. If things go bad, at least there's more than one way out. Noting the Countess's entrance, she moves a little closer to that part of the bar. Maybe it's not much comfort, but someone whose emotions feel familiar being nearby will hopefully help with the difficulties of being here. Or so she hopes; she's hardly the local Zeltron expert. Or any other Non-Human, for that matter. It takes another look around the room to locate the three pirates they know to be tied to the /Booty Full/. They seem to be busy at the moment: Two playing Lunar Pool and one being an amateur stagehand. She briefly debates going over and strike up a conversation, but common sense says no. What's she going to talk about? The latest computer slicing tricks? Maybe the megawatt range for the latest BlasTech rifle?
[Dyannah Nerus]
Towards the back of the bar room, Dyannah spots two of the crew that are on their list. With a sultry smile for the bartender, followed by a quick wink, she picks up the snifter to take a sip, barely managing not to spit it out on the bar. As her throat burns and her pink face reddens, she sputters, "You've got to be kidding!" Eyes narrowed, she silently promises revenge on Jax.
Casting around her in the miasma of drunken emotions at the bar, she catches a familiar presence and turns her head sighting Nova. Behind her, the space pool game advances, and she considers making the next game more enjoyable with a third player. She mimes sipping the brandy then pushes off the bar with it in hand, heading toward the game.
[Qadira Suuryet]
Kadi flashes a grin, eyeing the stage hand. "Whiskey," she orders as she stops by the bar. While she waits, she moves towards said stage hand. "Hey, you setting up for someone in particular? Are you going to be playing?" It's a good question right? How else to find out? She ignores the rest of the folks, seeming to be really most interested in the incoming music.
[Sajin]
While Filis and Ram continue to play, laughing at each other in quiet yet inebriated conversation, Gregor turns towards Kadi. A girl was talking to him? He instantly blushes, looking nervous. "Oh... uh... no not me. I'm just setting up for the act that'll play here in an hour or two."
Sajin glances towards Dyanna, pours himself another drink, and then offers over his bottle of complete swill. "Ya can have some of this..." If he had a hat, he'd tip it. Either way, he drink some more.
Ram and Filis seem out of booze, both pausing their game of luner pool to meander back over towards the bar. "Hey new guy!" The Twi'lek shouts, "Get us some more whiskey, okay Ka?"
Did all Twi'lek's say that?
The door remained locked, if one wanted to get over there unseen they'd need a good distraction.
[Nerys Greystorm]
Nerys glanced between the bartender and the big Corellian, pulling another chit out of a pocket, "One hundred credits says he loses in the first game. Hard." Her lips quirked in a expression that was clearly a challenge as she ticked her head in the direction of the game table currently being put to some use. Good or bad, well, that would be decided one hundred credits from now. If the Corellian decided to hit them up.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael Greystorm sighs a bit as the folks playing head over towards the bar, "Hey you two done with the table? I'm thinkin of tryin my hand at a game." He looks back at the bartender, "This round's on me."
[Jax Greystorm]
Jax doesn't give his patented 'Aren't I just cute?' to Dyannah as she glowers at him. He was working with what he got. "Sure thing, setting up a tab?" Then he nods moving to pour some shots on the Corellian's Credit. He slides a shot over to Kadi as he works. Kael's paying for that one too.
[Nova Korell]
And now Dyannah's heading for the lunar pool table? Nova can see the players heading their way, so she stays put for the moment. Maybe things will happen here instead. If not, she can always follow in a moment.
In the meantime, she slides Jax a few credits. "Passion Purple fizzyglug, iced."
[Dyannah Nerus]
The snap of enough credits being laid on the bar is Jax's answer, one eyebrow hikes at his innocent expression. Revenge is best served cold. Dyannah regards Sajin with a one-eyed squint, a side of her mouth pulled back, wavering between a disbelieving smile and a flat refusal. She knows in her guts that what he is drinking has to be worse than what she has in the glass that Jax, 'the bartender', poured. Dangerous stuff.
Since the pool game has come to the bar, it's the crew's opportunity to engage them in some witty repartee. With a smile that doesn't reach her eyes, she holds up her glass to Kael. "Hey, thanks." Turning to face the room, she surveys the closed backroom, her eyes sweeping the room to return to Fillis and Ram. She smiles, saying innocuously, "Does it get busier later?"
[Qadira Suuryet]
Kadi grins at the fellow. "Oh. Not you huh? Too bad." She wrinkles her nose, careful to not rub her hands through her hair, with the dye in it and all. "Who is playing to night? Anyone famous?" She chuckles softly and then says, "You never know, they play most places if the credits are worth it." She glances to the bar, checking on her drink, just as it's slid her way. She manages mostly to catch it without spilling. Mostly.
[Sajin]
Filis and Ram regard the two who ask about the Lunar Pool table. "Actually we just finished a game." Filis said... Ram cuts in as Kael buys them drinks. "Huh... I like this new stranger. Mind if me and my lady friend watch you?" They weren't going to say no to free drinks, taking them as they're poured out and moving back to the pool table to watch the two greystorms in their own lunar pool match.
Sajin glances towards the room as well when Dyan does, turnign his head to check on Kadi, and then one last glance to Nova. He raises his brows twice, taking a drink of his swill.
Gregor is still a nervous wreck. Though when Kadi says too bad it's not him playing he yelps out; "I mean I play a little Snazzle String..." He quiets down some, "I mean... you know... not professionally or anything. A group called Zynj's Raiders. Some really heavy group, you know. I don't know if you know them."
Some of the patrons that were in here stand and start to move out the door, having their fill of drink and what ever food there was.
[Nerys Greystorm]
The bar was getting too crowded, and Nerys had business to take care of. She slammed the shot the bartender had poured for her, and grabbing the two bottles, sauntered away from the bar and off to wend her way towards the refresher. Yeah, the refresher. A girl needed to look her best before jumping into the plughole at the end of the universe. She slinked into the crowd seamlessly, navigating through the bar well enough that she really might have been heading exactly where she was aiming.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael Greystorm shrugs a bit as he makes his way towards the pool table, "Watch if you'd like. It's going to likely look like amateur hour as I break all the rust free." Of course he's not paying attention to the fuss going on behind him why would he what's behind him no longer concerns him... That's the mantra of his driving skills too. "How do I turn this thing on?"
[Jax Greystorm]
Jax eyes Nova as she orders a drink that is well maybe too sophisticated for a joint like this. He grabs the only cocktail glass and shaker. Let's not talk about the last time that was used. He opens the mini cooling unit and finds a can of purple flavored Fizzpop. He throws some cubes of ice a bit of Passion fruit concentrate. A couple of shots of moonshine. It's what he was working with. He cracks open the can of Fizzpop. The message, 'Experation dates are negotiable.' Appears and then shorts out. He sniffs the can. Then shrugs pour some of the purple content into the shaker. Then an extra shot of moonshine incase Experations dates of Fizzpop are non negotiable. Then a couple chunks of Ice. He shakes the shaker before pouring the fizzy content into the cocktail glass. Then garnishs with a bit of citrus fruit that was in the bar. Why was their citrus cause of the gangs insisted drinking it in thier beer. The work of art was what Nova ordered if you held your mouth just right and squinted. He puts it on a tray stepping around the bar carrying it. As he does so he passes by Filis and cassually palms her security card from her hip pocket. It sliding into his own pocket. He takes the drink over to NOva. "House special."
[Nova Korell]
"Special-ly dangerous?" Nova quips, having watched the mixing process. She could smell the moonshine from her stool. She leaves the five-credit chit on the bar anyway: Anyone trying that hard deserves some reward.
The crowd seems to be heading back to the lunar pool table; well, that's where she'll go, too. Picking up the concoction, the helmeted woman does just that, though slowly and subtly. No point in getting ahead of events.
Note: You have to either take off a helmet to drink, or use a canteen attachment, which the Void armor she's wearing has. She does neither. There's dangerous, and there's outright suicidal. Or in this case, specially suicidal.
[Dyannah Nerus]
With the rot-gut brandy burning her throat, Dyannah decides to expedite matters. The door at the back of the bar likely hides what they need. A key to the door might be on the Twi'lek. When the new drinks are served, Dyannah, vacates her spot, trying to balance both the new and the old drinks in her hands. As she reaches her goals, she stumbles.
"OH! I'm so sorry," she cries, brushing his clothing down, quick fingers turning out the pockets of the man's overly tight Dad clothes. "I'm so clumsy. Let me get you a drink!" Dy hides her disappointment at turning out nothing beyond lint and a few credits behind a bright, superficial smile.
[Qadira Suuryet]
"I play too, but not a real instrument," Kadi confides in the guy she's talking to. "I do electronic stuff." She shrugs a bit, sounding just a little shy about it all. "Hey, do you think anyone would mind if I plugged in and played something?" She looks around to see who might object, or not, and then turns back to Gregor. "I've always wanted to play something with a real audience." She fiddles with her datapad for a moment, setting her drink down, and then looking over at Gregor. "I bet nobody will mind?"
[Sajin]
Nerys makes it over towards the door she's looking for, shielding by the crowd for the time being. Gregor is distracted by Kadi. Filis and Ram are... well. t"Hey what the hell are you trying to pull Pinky." Ram says, catching sight of her pulling something out of his pocket. His anger towards Dyannah causes his Devaronian companion to turn around and regard Dyannah as if she were a threat. Yet completely misses Jax swiping the key card off her.
Gregor blinks, "Oh.. well... I guess it's okay. I need to do a sound check anyways." He moves to the sound box not far from the stage and goes to help her out if she needs it.
Ram is still upset as Dya starts to patt him down, "Hey get you're hands off me! You trying to steal more of my mints and pocket cahnge." Filis seems about ready to globber Dya as she steps closer... except Sajin gets in her way.
Helmet on, tall, an imposing silent figure... Sajin just stands there silently. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a few credit chips and hands them to the pair. "go..." Or there will be trouble.
Filis and Ram take the change before making their way back towards the Lunar Pool table. Sajin takes a seat and pours himself another Drink.
[Nerys Greystorm]
Nerys knew how to move when it was required. She was no spy, no master of mystery, but she knew how to be smol and easily forgettable. And so she was, as she wound around the room, somehow managing to make it to the area of the door she actually are about. No way she was even looking inside that refresher. Keen eyes studied the door, trying to mark its security system, if she could see it, and its weak points.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael Greystorm had gotten to the pool table drink still in hand as he figures out how to start it up. Then he goes to break the rack and watches the cue ball bounce off all the walls before heading right into the corner pocket, "Well... That didn't go the way I expected at all."
[Jax Greystorm]
What's the crazy bartender doing as he walks around the bar cleaning up empties. As he draws past the secured door. He seems to linger for a few moment. "Here try this." Jax daftly passing the security card onto Nerys. Then goes back to clean up empties.
[Nova Korell]
Nova's gaze is on the two pirates as Stout loses his temper with Dyannah... and on Sajin as he resolves the issue, for the moment. Just in case they change their minds, she remains where she is near, but not /too/ near, the table, holding her glass of mixed oddity just for something to do with her hands.
[Dyannah Nerus]
Sajin's bulk and glowering intimidation save the day as he interposes himself between a fist and Dyannah's tender skin. She pats him on the back, then peers around the big man, saying, to the Twi'lek's retreating back, "It was an accident!"
Seating herself next to Sajin, "Thanks, big guy. I think he might have hit me." She watches the doorway shenanigans in the bar mirror.
[Qadira Suuryet]
Kadi can hook her computer up to the sound box, to help with the sound check. Sure! She does that, and then she starts that electonic music that has been heard a couple times, fiddling with it. She has fun with it at least, and it gets eyes her way instead of towards other places of interest. That's the goal really, just a distraction. She certainly doesn't sing though. And if Gregor is really into electronic, he might even recognize the piece.
[Sajin]
Gregor's jaw srops after a moment into Qadi's piece... "Wait... that's... That's DJ Qad!" He's stunned to find the song he's heard on those deep cut site on the Holonet making it's way to play live in the Cantina. He's enjoying the show that's for sure. He flicks a few switches and pushes several levers at the board, adjusting the levels.
If Ram and Filis were thinking about going back to murder Dya for what she did, they don't show any signs of it as they make their way through the crows to watch Kael play a game of Lunar Pool.
While Nery's disable the alarm and Keypad, the bolt stayed. Fortunatly Jax made his way over with the card, which helped with that obstruction. THe door clicks open, giving the pair entry.
[Nerys Greystorm]
Just her luck, this was going to be a two-step operation. She'd just have to trust the Irregulars to get her what she needed. Nerys, who looked as inconspicuous as ever, activated the interface on her armor, eyes scanning the HUD that popped up as she adjusted her backpack, looking for all the world like a woman rearranging all her worldly possessions. The pack, if anyone knew her, did not need a bit of reorganizing, but it gave her some cover, as she found the contact points to disengage the security on the door. Hopefully, it would make it impossible to record that they had entered the room. Oh! A well-paid bartender. What a nice fellow. He got her the good booze. Not the rotgut he was serving at the bar. And there he went, back about his business. Leaving her with the card deftly hidden against the hollow of her palm. But only for a moment. In the next, she activated the lock, the card sliding like silk, before she slipped into the office.
[Kael Greystorm]
Kael goes and sets the cue ball back up and rears back to actually break the rack this time... He's off to a great start on his second try now. He does look over to see if he's got the others watching and gives them a bit of a smile, "See gotta break the rust off. I think I remember what to do now."
[Jax Greystorm]
Jax looks around for a moment. Then seeing the intel he sees. He calls out quietly to Nerys, "Over here." THen he starts to gathering stuff up to help her hide into her back pack. Let's hope no one is needing a drink.
[Nova Korell]
Nova makes a good statue, her faceplate on the game, but her eyes on the two pirates. They don't strike her as the kind to forgive and forget. Still, at least they're not bothering Dyannah anymore. Hopefully they'll be similarly forgiving, or better yet, entirely ignorant, of what's going on in the back and the office. But she's here if they don't.
[Dyannah Nerus]
Life is never dull among the Irregulars, well, seldom dull. They experience all the hurry up and wait that soldiers and intelligence operants live through. Living being the operative word. Nerys is in the room. Alert to any potential trouble, Dyannah pretends to drink the rotgut and keeps an eye on what is going on behind them.
[Qadira Suuryet]
Kadi is totally just creating a distraction so she flashes a big grin over at Gregor. "You know DJ Qad?" she says, sounding very pleased. "I'm thrilled!" Once the first riff ends, she moves into a second one, this one she makes up on the spot, so it's a new DJ Qad song. If Gregor is recording it, he too can put it up on the holo, music only! She on purpose tries some odd sounds, not worried if it sounds good, just wanting to keep attention her way.
[Sajin]
If Nerys and Jax are quick about it they can grab some of the Holomaps and stuff them in that Hyper-bag that everyone favorite HRD has. Kadi seems to be keeping the crowd occupied with her music and Kael the two with his half and half lunar pool playing. Sajin continues to Drink, sitting next to Dya silently. Even as Nerys makes her way out the door with the information so desperatly needed by Pyretta in hand.
