Spaceport Fundraiser Charity Details
OOC Date: Janurary 24th
Location: Art Gallery
Participants: (Sponsors)Eebua Gnuda, Mandalorian Revivers, Rheisa Dirleel, Muse Art Gallery
Greeting. Welcome to the 2nd Silent Art Auction at the Muse Art Gallery. For those of you who were not able to attend last year's, this is how it works:
There are several works of fine art on display at the silent auction, specially showcased aside with little cards that show its name, starting bid, and what artist created it, plus a little bio blurb about said artist. There are also a few packages put together by local businesses of donated goods/services to bid on (Hopefully some are PC-owned but if no one contacts me in time, it'll be fudged NPC stuff). Bids should be paged to Rheisa Dirleel, as often as you want to increase them, and updates will be paged back to interested parties every 15 minutes or so (or longer if no new bids come in). When things start wrapping up and people get sleepy, she will announce for final bids to be made, then inform the winners! You will actually be paying real credits if you win and if you ask Cujo nicely, he just might agree to add a blurb about the art piece in whatever room desc you own or maybe even make an object.
The auctioned art is the only thing you will be required to purchase that evening. No admittance fee, no special VIP fee to get upstairs where all the GOOD drinks and entertainment is. Monies generated from the auction will be paid out to either Eebua Gnuda (probably) or Russ Ordo or Narsai Ordo, whoever is 'in charge' of making sure it gets put to GOOD use. Rheisa will collect the credits, take her small cut (which actually is going to Wayside Medical Clinic for all it's done to piece people back together in the wake of everyone else's violence), then turn to Eebua and Mandos with the rest to let them hash it out.
ROOM LAYOUT:
People enter from off the street and into the lobby. From this vantage point, you can see a little of what's happening upstairs on the second level, through the ornate railing sectioning off that lofted space. Servers - mostly droid - are already floating about to offer beverages. Along the righthand wall is a loooong table piled high with edible stuffs. Servers will also be circulating some morsels around throughout the evening. There is plenty of mingling space in here, but the auctionable goods are found in the next room (west) where most of the art exhibits are anyway. Upstairs is where the band and nightly entertainment will be performing. Their efforts are easily heard throughout the gallery though. There are tables for sitting up there.
So, without further ado, here're lists of what's edible, drinkable, playable, and up for bid this evening:
The AUCTION GOODS
1) ART - by ZURA ICONA
A note about the artist is scripted below on a small placard, with an image of the Wroonian woman’s face. She’s a painter and performance artist, it’d seem. The name of this painting is listed as:
"REBIRTH"
This canvas painting is about 1.5 sq meters. It's the sort that either you will love or really hate. The background colors are matte, grayscale, and splattered into twisted shapes and mangled forms. In the lower left quadrant though, wisps of color are rising like smoke, brightening as they reach the tips. Stare at it long enough and you'll see that the flame-like wisps actually form five, grasping fingers.
Opening Bid: 300 credits
2) ART - by VEELA PRITIK
The artist note beneath reads "I'm with Qo," and features a warmly smiling Mirialan woman. Veela Pritik and her husband, Qo, are residents of the Corellian District and influential members of one of Nar Shaddaa's art guilds.
NECKLACE/EARRING SET
A very ornate necklace made from invisi-wire and luminescent, glass beads, gives the illusion that the model neck and décolletage is bejeweled by pristine, scarlet gemstones. The necklace is four-tiered and designed to drape at a rightward angle across the chest, with the last tier cresting just over and around the top of the breast. The first strand contains just one, small central bead to rest in the hollow of the throat. Below it are strung larger, droplet-shaped beads spaced by tiny ones matching the above. The third tier consists of the same whereas the fourth has one central, larger pendant, flanked by tiny teardrops.
There are also matching ear rings.
Opening Bid: 250 credits
3) ART - by QO
A note about the artist is scripted below on a small placard, with an image of a scruffy Meerian man's face. He doesn't appear happy to be documented. It reads - "You've seen me and my scrap speeder selling repurposed junk allover the streets of Nar...I guess this makes it art."
FLASK and TUMBLER SET
This medium-sized flask and ale tumbler are formed from hammered scrap metals, folded and poundd together in different layers with the outermost layer being chock full of rivet-looking holes to give it a rough, 3D texture. The flask is outfitted with a caribiner hook around the neck and the tumbler has a magnetized bottom - great for leaving on one's desk, speeder dash, nav console....The words "It's a man's moon" are inscribed on the flask.
Opening Bid: 200 credits
4) ART - by TIGRI K'ANI
A note about the artist is scripted below, identifying her as Tigri K’ani – a renown, Bith crystal-synthesizer and micro-sculptor. Some of her more famous pieces are enlarged thousands of times by holographic projection, crafted on the micro-meter scale using laser implements. This one though is at least identifiable without magnification, if one leans in closely, and is called:
"BEFORE DAWN"
This diminutive piece stands just 3.2 millimeters tall and barely perceivable by the naked eye, but that is what makes it so awe-worthy. It is sculpted from Azurite and sits atop a smooth, mica pedestal. A magnifying lens is positioned so as to make every detail easily viewed by passing onlookers. It is a rendering of Parmac's Starport prior to the attack, using just a few engraved dots and slashes to represent some ships on a couple of the levels.
Opening Bid: 900 credits
5) ART - by ALEXANDER MICHELANDO
An elderly face with well groomed beard smiles with closed lips from this photo. His artist note says: Resident and Master Sculptor of fifty-three years, Theeds, Naboo.
"COEXISTENCE"
This stone sculpture is a lifelike handshake between a knobby-fingered Gungan hand and that of a human's. The hands are clasped at the wrists and supported by a gold-plated stand.
Opening Bid: 750 credits
6) ART - by RHEISA DIRLEEL
Her artist card reads: Owner and Curator, the Muse art gallery.
"UNITY"
This piece is actually made of two separate, ‘misshapen’ pots. Each clay pot would have been quite spherical in shape, if not for the squiggled, crescent-shaped notches cut into each – mirror images of the other. One pot is black as ink, coated with a faint, sparkling pigment. The other is a color not so different from herself, reminiscent of sunrises and sets. Each pot has a narrow-necked, branching spout that curls off to opposing directions. When the two are placed together, the notches combine to form a rough, humanoid silhouette.
Opening Bid: 250 credits
7) ITEM - SOROSUUB EZ-SNAP- SNIPER RIFLE
This is a rare find among arms dealers, known for its marksman targeting computer and questionable legality.
Donated by: The Waywards
Opening Bid: 3,000 credits
8) ITEM - CEC ENGINE Tier-3 MODIFICATION
Moe's Ship Repairs is sponsoring this charity by donating 1, Tier-3 engine modification for ANY CEC ship. Moe has also agreed to install the modification, free of charge. Now that's showing support
Donated by: Moergog
Opening Bid: 10,000 credits
9) ITEM - CRYSTAL HOOKAH
'This is a 1.5 meter tall beast of a pipe. The delicate crystal structure is as beautiful as it is expensive and no doubt risky to entrust to the hands of any who might be partaking of tabac and spices. It is designed with the infamous Shownar Crystals in mind, and when any of the three adjoining pipes are smoked, a haunting sound 'breathes' through the hollow vessel.
Donated by: Anonymous
Opening Bid: 1,000 credits
