Log:Sith Empire: A Lesson in Horticulture
The Sith fleet looms in the Polith system; a dark presence over the planet of Thyferra. From this lofty vantage point, they are capable of responding with merciless efficiency to those who seek to resist the inevitable shift of power. Now they begin to dig in their trenches planetside.
A Lesson in Horticulture
OOC Date: June 08, 2022
Location: Thyferra
Participants: Xavier Harcourt (GM), Aiden Cruxis, Caius Sentari, Kin-Li Kel, Nazamine Alastaria; Sumi Kora, Tamsin Cas, Sith Empire, SMASH
-- Xavier --
A contingent of speeder bike-mounted Sith operatives have gathered on the outskirts of a large Vratixian barley plantation. Shielded by a ring of thick, lush jungle forests that marks the acerage's perimeter, the group scout from the obscured vantage point. Out in the fields, native human and Vratix work in the rows cultivating and harvesting the precious barley essential to the bacta-making process while patrols of First Order on foot and on vehicle make their rounds.
At the southern section of the field rests a large building complex where even more droids and sentients can be seen hard at work. In thee cloudy blue sky, countless hover drones can be seen converging on the building from all directions carrying pods of raw materials. One by one, they form a regimented, automatic lines of constant delivery to several numbered conveyor belts that roll the goods inside. On the other side of the building, a single line of drones haul packaged cargo out and head straight for Xucphra City further south.
It is the facility itself that Xavier, dressed in medium armour, gestures towards as he speaks to those in his company, words only slightly muffled by the cigarette bobbing between his lips. "Not only is this a major production field, but that building processes the barley for the entire northern quadrant. Seizing it will put a sizable fraction of their stockpiles into our control as well as a mass-producing stretch of land. First Order runs oversight to the operation. We are to move in quickly, neutralize security, and minimize destruction of the facility and labour force."
Xavier pulls a long drag of his cigarette. Stealing himself a toxic inhale of tar and narcotics while allowing the information to settle and questions to be asked.
-- Caius --
Caius is matching Xavier puff for puff as he sucks on his own cigarette, unhelmeted and casual as he sits at the back of Naz's bike. "Storm the farm, shoot a bunch of bucketheads, take the place intact. Alright.", he affirms as he flicks the cigarette off somewhere without easily flammable foliage and dons his helmet. <"We'll show these children how /real empires/ are built.">
-- Sumi --
<"These troopers got general orders to stand their ground, or will they beat feet if the fire gets too heavy? Zealot troopers are tough moof milkers to contend with."> Sumi comments, testing the accelerator on her bike and adjusting her cape to flutter at one side. This revealed the litany of weapons holstered for safe keeping along her outer-shell, which is a blue plated Mandalorian beskar'gam with a lot of personality dinged and dented all over it. Her helmet is on, its visor activated and HUD online. A tactical uplink is synced with allies through a pair of feline shaped ear antennae atop her helm.
-- Kin-Li --
Kin-Li Kel wears nothing less than a Corellian Huntsuit for this op. The power-assisted stealth suit is set up for a combat operation, not recon work in this case, and is festooned with charge packs, grenades, various pieces of equipment, a vibroknife, and other paraphernalia of war. With a blaster pistol on his hip, a rifle slung over his back, a vibrosword hung from a waist ring, and carbine hanging from a one-point harness sling, he seems....prepared. For anything. Sitting astride his bike, he holds his carbine at the ready, and transmits over the tacnet: <<"Seems straightforward. Straight up asset strike.">> He trains the sensor package on his suit onto the facility, scanning closely. <<"What's the plan, boss?">>
-- Tamsin --
A dark robed figure stood by one of the speeder bikes, that faceless helmet canted, in succession, between Xavier, as he gave his intelligence on the facility and the outline of the mission, and studying the actually facility ahead, taking in both the security, and the sheer numbers of bodies, sentient and otherwise on the field. Sumi's question brought that faceless mask in her direction, and even with the heavy distortion of the vocorder, there was a hunt of amusement, "I believe I know which would be preferred." And then, more seriously, "The additional security is new, and the workers look none too happy about it. We may be able to salvage some labour."
-- Nazamine --
Naz sat atop her speeder bike with a natural poised look. Listening to Xavier give the run down. <I'll get us there with no problem. Caius, then scope out a spot with my rifle.> She takes off her helmet for a moment, and her pink hair flies out meesily. "Ah, this is no good. I can't see anything with this not tied up." She takes her hair and neatly puts it in her side braid, letting it drop over her shoulder. Looking at Xavier asks, "Is there a good spot over there I can post up with a sniper rifle?" She waits for his response before she dons her helmet once again.
-- Aiden --
Aiden always hated the heat, given the chance he would rather be in a planet like Hoth. Thyferra had a lot of its rainforests it was hot and humid, much to the young detective's chagrin. But he always believed in the ideal that the Mission is what it becomes, so here he was with his associates from SMASH. He listened to Xavier as he explained why they were here, a quick and hopefully a zero casualty event on their side of things. He leaned back on the Speeder bike he was assigned to using binoculars to look at the facility as Xavier had described it. "And after we hit the facility do we have any exit routes planned?" he asks as he kept the binocular on his eyes, his left hand fanning himself.
-- Xavier --
"This is a surgical strike," Xavier continues as he snuffs out his cig and tosses it to the ground. "Team Aurek, that is us, are gunning straight for the facility. Teams Besh and Cresh (NPCs) will fan to either side, engage with peripheral hostiles, then bring up the rearguard. The goal here is to get to that facility as fast as we can and seize it before those inside can fortify or call for assistance."
Towards the two nearest to him, Sumi and the masked figure, Xavier tilts his head. "Councilor is correct in their assessment. Safe to assume their orders are to defend or die trying." And then to Nazamine, he glances to her. "Sure there's some vantage points when we get there. If not, improvisation will be the name of the game, mm?"
They say old habits die hard. And they die even harder the older one gets. For Xavier, there are untold decades of experiences and conditioning that sometimes rear their ugly heads when he does not necessarily conjure them. Serving as a soldier ranks up there as one he wishes he could forget.
He cannot. And it shows. Out of habit, Xavier turns his head towards the small commlink hooked to his ear, speaking in that rich, oddly-mixed accent. <<"Besh, Cresh. Status.">>
<<"Besh is ready, sir.">>
<<"Cresh is ready, sir.">>
<<"Aurek copies. On my lead.">>
Satisfied but certainly not showing it by the scowl on his face, Xavier looks to each face of those with him then nods. Hands to the handles of his speeder bike, the engines grow from a groan to a roar as he breaks through the thick jungle brush and out onto the field with the members of Aurek immediately alongside him. As they scream onto the stretch of farmland, repulsor engines kicking up clouds of dust, two more similiar clusters of speeder bike emerge from severral yars on either side. They arc around like the horns of a bull and begin to violently engage with the patrols caught unawares.
But not all of them. Several mobile First Order guards zero in on Team Aurek and come speeding in from various directions.
-- Caius --
<"Heh-heh. Here we go.">, Caius voxes quietly as they move out, keeping himself stirruped tight as they move out. A hand is pitched backwards to keep him table, while his other holds up an E-11 with some rather distinctive (and likely endangered) wooden furniture. At the advent of First Order speederbikes rounding the bend and giving chase, however, he immediately hitches up into action.
Steadying himself by his feet and apparently sufficient leg strength, he flips out the stock of his carbine and takes careful aim at the stragglers.
PEW! PEW! Two shots. One lands home on a buckethead's center mass and blows a hole in his chest. The other hits the leg of a second. <"Heh-heh. There they go.">, he follows up. No doubt there's a grin beneath that helmet as he lines up further shot
-- Sumi --
At the approach of foeman riders, Sumi settled upon her mount and glanced back to make sure her rider was with her. <"Hang on,"> is the only heralding comment they get (WHOEVER IS WITH HER) from the Mando as she primes the engine, adjusts the pedal back to set it in gear, then take off with a roar of the engine.
At great speed, the bike is responsible for making Sumi's cape snap out at one side like a dark flame. She drives crazed, hungry for battle, and rushes the foeman line with seemingly nothing in hand until she reaches down to drag a Ryyk blade free from its scabbard that's been strapped to her bike. The blade was intended for Wookiees of great strength, but in Sumi's hand it seems massive and unwieldy, like a claymore or some sort of great sword. The glint of the fine weapon catches the light as she settles it lazily back against her shoulder while 'one-handing' the bike to approach.
Once in range, Sumi's laughter could be heard as she hoists her shoulder up in a shrug motion, and holds the razor sharp blade out horizontally, catching the poor rider by surprise. When Sumi's bike flashes by, her opponents comes to a slow stop as its body lays back with the momentum. Their helmeted head, removed, bounces around on the dirt path.
<"HAAAAhahaha! Let's go!"> Sumi cries out, hoisting the sword back to her shoulder to rest lazily in place.
-- Kin-Li --
Kin-Li Kel is a VERY good pilot, and his master of the bike allows him to steer with his knees while he operates his carbine. All that while talking over the commlink. <<"This is Aurek-4. The enemy line of bikes is in a modified echelon left. Aurek leader, recommend shifting left so we can fire down their line with no return fire.">>
And he veers left, taking his own advice. Soon enough, he has an easy bead and his choice of targets. Flagging them in his suit's tactical system for his team, he spots the one Caius winged in the leg. As that driver slows, he pays for his lack of discipline -- permanently. Kin-Li squeezes off a single shot, and the bolt takes the man's head off. Shifting fire, a second bolt flies out a second later, and the next speeder driver in the line takes a blaster bolt to the faceplate.
The speeder bike noses into the dirt and explodes in a ball of flame. The driver is inmoving, smoke rising from his ruined armor's faceplate.
-- Tamsin --
The Councilor moved to settle onto one of the speeder bikes, which left room for one more on the bike, if anyone was interested. They were already powering up the bike and did not appear to be much interested in waiting to argue it out, however. So whomever was getting on, had best get on. And then they were off, the team moving to advance towards the facility, and in the direct line of the incoming speeder-bound troopers. That distorted voice came again, "It is quite likely they will converge fire on me. Use that to your advantage." And then they were off, the speeder darting ahead like a bullet aimed for center mass of the converging troopers. As the speeder approached at what was, likely, close to top speed, the Councilor moved to drive with one hand, the other reaching down to retrieve the hilt on their belt. The crimson blade's light seemed to pulse in the heat of the jungle as the blade flashed out, separating one of the troopers at the waist as the speeder flew past. The drawback of the blade rendered the speeder into so much junk, leaving it to explode on the jungle floor.
-- Nazamine --
Naz revs the speedbiker and says over the intercom. <<"Hold on Caius, I'm going to give the person following us the runaround.">> The speed bike lurches forward at an even faster speed. The trees that would look blurry and unavoidable are easily maneuvered through by Nazamine. She'd often race speed bikers on planets her parents had a smuggling job on. Piloting came second nature for her and she loved the thrill of it as much as she loved smuggling some high-end goods and delivering hours before the agreed upon time.&r
Naz looks around her between trees, blurring, and sees some farm equipment outside a run-down barn. <<"Okay, Cai, I'm going to go make a quick turn, so hang on">> Naz revs the engine faster, and just before the barn, she leans quickly to the side while breaking and skirts around the barn and continues through the trees. The rider crashes loudly into the barn. Was he alive? She saw a pitchfork, so he's probably a first order skewer.
-- Aiden --
Their speeders were like blaster bolts being fired simultaenously both the First Order's and their's and when the two sides met. It was chaos, The Mandalorian who was driving their speeder was aggressive like all Mandalorian's who thrive on combat, and it seemed like she didn't think of how fragile people can be especially on speeders, her maneuver helped her take out an enemy with a blade. While it was not impossible, it was certainly impressive from up close, from where he has. Aiden took the momentum of the kill, and leaned backwards, one hand used as an anchor as he took two shots at one enemy. His shots injuring but not killing the First Order soldier, a scowl appears on his face.
"I should've adjusted my aim to compensate for the wind" he murmurs disappointed with his shot.
-- Xavier --
Like a nest of desert hornets, the three groups of speeders charge forward. Besh and Cresh immediately splinter off to either side, making wide berths and engaging in the enemy patrols dotted around the large estate. It takes a moment or to for the farmhands to realize what is going on as blaster bolts start flying through the air: an eruption of chaos from what was otherwise a dull, quiet afternoon. Frozen in shock and confusion, over a dozen by-standers get hit by errant fire and falls to the ground to die in the fields where they toiled away. The rest finally blink back into the present and start running.
Leading the charge, Xavier's bike cuts through the fields like a cleaver, cutting across the rows while keeping his senses open to those around him. <<"Copy, Auerk-4. Don't venture too far and don't get sidetracked.">> There is a target in sights and they are halfway there already. Clinging to his speeder with a tension in his thighs, Xavier pierces a Stormtrooper's chest with a metal slug, knocking them off with concussive force that renders a bike riderless and nosediving into the fields.
Of the dozen speeders that trained their guns upon Team Aurek, over half are left and they are deadset on following their orders to protect the facility. Firing shots that go wide and maintaining the chase as the invaders race to the processing building.
-- Caius --
<"/Dominant/ piloting, Naz.">, Caius exclaims as they swerve a buckethead into crashing, his free hand ruffling his pilot's hair and likely ruining the grooming she subjected it to earlier. <"Ain' out of the woods yet, tho'."> He hitches his carbine back up onto his shoulder as he lets loose two more shots at their pursuers - one hitting true at center mass again, merely an injury - and the other shot going wide and likely hitting a fleeing farmer. A grunt. <"...wrong place, wrong bloody time. Tough.">, the veteran cop quips as he lines up more shots.
-- Sumi --
Sumi has not stopped the advance and charge, she has put on more speed and orients the craft carrying Aiden, and herself, toward more danger. Weaving slightly from side to side, she prepares for the next encounter, dropping the sword a hair too late and scoring only a deep laceration on a leg.
Her opponent cries out in agony at the loss of that limb, and Sumi cries out in strain as she holds the sword up for a second attack in one pass. The feat is a marvel of strength and proves devastating to the trooper on the receiving end, but Sumi loses the sword when it becomes lodged in the troopers plasteel armor. She had put too much emphasis in holding the weapon out, and not in pulling it back, so even though it landed a kill, she had to release it to carry on.
Sumi shakes her hand out, still giggling at the interaction, and begins to prepare for the next incursion by drawing out the sidearm from its holster on her thigh. The handcannon is a single action .48 Enforcer carried by the Morellian enforcers from the Commonwealth (now thought extinct). Her thumb settles over the hammer and locks it back with a 'click-CLIK'.
-- Kin-Li --
Kin-Li Kel's excursion has the unfortunate side effect of putting him in some rough terrain. As he begins lining up shots, a rocky patch disrupts the speeder bike he rides, and therefore his aim. And, at these speeds, at these distances? That is all it really takes. The slight bobble is enough to shift his aim /JUST/ a bit. A controlled pair of blaster bolts are squeezed off. Once skips off the center spar of the speeder bike with a flash of sparks, but no damage, and the second flashes about 4 inches front of the driver's face.
Hopefully, he wore the brown pants.
-- Tamsin --
The Councilor did not so much avoid the blaster fire, as their speeder continued to swerve and move in and amongst the troopers, as it simply seemed to never be where the blasters were pointed. And perhaps that was entirely as intended, as the speeder swept past, and then banked hard, coming back around as that saber flashed out, relieving one of the troopers of his head and shoulders, though a quick jolt of the trooper who was the next target only just avoided the saber strike. Ah, well, death would come in time. Indeed it was coming already, on very swift wings.
-- Nazamine --
Nazamine Alastaria says, "Frak you too, then!" She yells and zips around the incoming tree and speeds up to close the cap between them and the building. "Nice shooting, Cai!!," she says, above the wind whipping by her."
She tries again, getting closer to the biker... and he moves a little the other way.
-- Aiden --
The chaos continued, and Aiden could hear explosions going on the background, knowing that all of those would be from First Order Troops as he believed everyone he was with was too skilled to get taken down. His Mandalorian driver taking out another one in close quarters, the young platinum haired detective could not help but smirk to himself, his current partner was nothing but consistent with their close range takedowns. He opens his blaster to reload and he senses two First Order Speeders approaching from their left side, he quickly puts in the new cell and then quickly extends his hand to the left and shoots in one quick motion and without looking at the targets as he had already gauged their position by the sound of their speeders.
"That's two down" he says proud that he has redeemed his missed shot earlier.
-- Xavier --
One by one, those giving chase fall to a barrage of sword swings, blaster bolts, and the menacing hum of the crimson saber of Thyferra's liberators. There are explosions in their wake; small pock-marked craters dug into the fields dotted with wreckage and corpses alike. But nothing a dedicated workforce cannot clean up.
Wind whipping through his black hair, Xavier sets his focus on one remaining driver who has put himself literally in the line of fire. It's a deadly game of chicken made all the more dangerous for the blaster bolt whizzing past Xavier's head. A sneer... then a grin pierces his bearded face. A sharp jerk of his left arm, as if throwing something away, and then he swerves instinctively to the left. Narrowly missing the screaming First Order trooper as they are propelled from their craft as it suddenly takes a nosedive into the field and crashes.
The trooper hits the ground rolling... and rolling... and rolling. Alive, but dizzy and injured while left in the dust.
With no pursuers, Aurek make it to the facility and quickly disembark their vehicles. <<"Go go go!">> Xavier barks. There's no time to stop now because inside awaiting them are several armed security sworn to defend this location with their meaningless lives.
-- Caius --
<"/Nice shooting/?? I didn't kill th' first guy and missed the second shot!">, Caius whines in commentary as a reply to Naz, though it's clear in his tone that he's still manic as Sumi, the adrenalin likely helping more than his leg strength in keeping him hitched upon his speederbike. At Aiden's kills, he points. <"Witness! He killed /both/!">, he then exclaims with glee as their speederbike hits the dampener and air-skids to a stop. Manic as he is, it is a fluid motion for him to hop off and run for cover, finding a rather quaint hovertractor to hitch his E-11 on and start firing.
PEW-PEW! An immediate 2-shot burst is loosed and hits a buckethead square in the chest. A second bolt misses, but hell, the poor trooper's aflame all the same. <"Ahahah.">, comes the vox, before he starts waving over to Nazamine to join him.
-- Sumi --
When the bike came to a halt, Sumi disembarked the vehicle and immediately activated her jetpack to go airborne and closer toward their objective. Mandalorian doctrine was that you fight till you die; if you're not fighting, you're dying! Sumi lands amidst the heat with a heavy clunk sound of gear and immediately opens up on their foes.
Her first target sustains a .48 slug at close range, shattering their plasteel cuirass in a cloud of white dust, both front then back, which concluded with a burst of red mist. Sumi's thumb draws the hammer back, rotating the cylinder and fires a second time at a new target, yielding the same effect for them, too! Pivoting in place, the Mando's cape rustles loudly, and her wrist comes up releasing a bright blast from a vambrace that catches a third trooper in the face by surprise. Three bodies hit the ground around Sumi Kora, and she's already charging out in the open, looking for more!
-- Kin-Li --
Kin-Li Kel breaches the structure at a dead run. As he gets eyes on the situation, he shifts the massive assault weapon to his right hand. He doesn't even break stride as his left hand snatches the massive blaster pistol from his left leg. As he crosses the space, the Huntsuit tries to compensate and conceal the man, though it is mostly unsuccessful.
Three bolts fly out of the weapon, and despite the fact he is moving and sliding into cover, one connects with the wounded man. He falls, quite dead. Now in cover, he braces his pistol, readying for the assault.
-- Tamsin --
There was some part of the Councilor's logical mind that could understand the dedication of the facility's security force, as they stepped down from the speeder and moved in a beeline for the defender troopers, even admire it. But that did not mean that they would be given any quarter. And now. Now. they were off of the bike and in their element. No speeders to contend with, no blaster fire from the hooded figure at least, that would damage the very thing they had been sent to liberate. Only that crimson blade, flashing blood red and humming with that low growl that was almost an animal's snarl. The robed figure went into the fray, sweeping once, to clear some space, twice, to sight and cut down a target, and a third time to push back the troopers, forcing them to cluster together. Had this been that ancient child's game, one might have wanted to hum 'Ring Around the Rosy'. (but in space)
-- Nazamine --
Nazamine gets off of the speed bike but trips over her momentum, then catches herself, bringing herself upright. Lugging a big sniper rifle around for someone as little as she was, as the saying goes, biting off a bit more than one can chew. "How the heck am I supposed to know where to climb?" She looks around and finds a high stack of crates. "Good enough." She runs over towards it and starts climbing up. The rifle makes it difficult to climb up as she knocks boxes off, slightly lowering the height of the crates.
Once on top, she mounts her rifle and finds a good target. "You're mine," she says as she pulls the trigger. A clean shot, straight through the chest. "Man was aiming at his heart." She sounds disappointed with her aim, but only for a moment. "At least I got him," she adds, patting herself on the back since she just recently learned to use this rifle.
-- Aiden --
Aiden watched as his Mandalorian partner jet-packed instantly and started killing the enemy as soon as they arrived, dismounting from the speeder, Aiden can't help but watch with both awe and a feeling of inferiority. He shakes his head and then he takes a deep breath before running after his partner aiming his sights at First Order soldiers, he places his left arm under his right using it as a makeshift stabilizer for his gunhand and then shooting at the enemies as precisely as he could.
-- Xavier --
Inside the facility are towers upon towers of crates stuffed with the precious Vratixian barley, one of the key ingredients in the life-saving miracle salve called bacta. Conveyor belts stripe wide open area going in all directions, carrying the crop from one section to the next in the process. It is a hum of dozens of servors and engines that fill the air now.
Along with the cries of "The intruders have breeched the facility! They cannot be let to---" The security trooper falls prone to their knees and then to the side dead as Team Aurek interrupts him in the most violent way.
<<"Besh, Cresh. Update.">> Xavier looks around the edge of a partition, picking off a hobbled trooper then ducking back into cover again when the volley of return fire erupts.
<<"Besh. Securing the exterior. Eliminating remnant threats. En route to rearguard.">>
<<"Cresh. Sustained casualities. Rounding up remaining labour force to rendezous point.">>
<<"Aurek copies. Nearly cleaned up here. Alert Harbinger.">>
Nearly cleaned up. Not quite, though. Five remain and desertion is not an option.
-- Caius --
<"There ya goooo.">, Caius growls out manically as Sumi rockets out ahead of him to drop three of the troopers. His helmet continues to swivel about, watching Kel, the Councilor and Nazamine take their shots. And now - if he wasn't already - he's in the heat of the moment.
<"BOW TO THE TRUE EMPIRE, YOU /DOGS/!">, comes the booming and authoritative vox directed at the troopers before them. The Coruscant Guard of operated on Tarkin Doctrine - rule by fear - so /of course/ their helmets would have in-built megaphones. And then come the shots.
The boisterous cop lets loose another two-shot burst - directly at the one he shouted at, even - and hits them center mass, twice. They go down, dead but not injured - and likely aflame from the incendiary ammo.
-- Kin-Li --
Kin-Li Kel lays down an impressive hail of suppressive fire from his covered and concealed position. Sure, it doesn't actually /hit/ anyone, but DAMN it looks impressive! Massive chucks of cover are blown all over the room by the small hand cannon! IT. LOOKS. AMAZING. Unfortuantely, he doesn't actually /HIT/ anyone.
-- Sumi --
Sumi steps in front of two looking to blast Aiden as he advances, and the action throws their aim off. Shots go astray and Sumi brings her pistol up to her hip, fanning the hammer back after the first shot, then after the second. In the blink of an eye, three shots had gone out and at least one made due to level the poor sod to the ground. He was dead, dying even, and Sumi stepped over him to scan for any stragglers still interested in fighting. The molten orange compensator on the end of her handcannon steamed, leaving the proximity around Sumi smelling like cordite.
-- Tamsin --
It was a dance, of the deadliest sort, as the troopers opened fire on the robed figure, the Councilor adjusting their stance to make certain that their body was the most advantageous target for the incoming fire. Bolts darted left and right, and they pushed forward, blade flashing as they brought the weapon to bear, working the blade with a particular skill. Not to showboat, but simply to do the work with which they had been charged. A lunge towards one of the troopers ended with the Councilor standing, and a body at their feet. A twist to avoid friendly fire left one strike of the blade to hit the air, before the Councilor moved in on a second, leaving that one in much the same state as his fellow of a moment ago.
-- Nazamine --
Naz lines up her sniper rifle at the injured security guard. "Really, we should put animals out of their misery, and being the nice person that I am, I will grant you such a death." With a smirk, she activates her target computer. It locks on to the injured one's head and, with a silent click of the trigger, the bullet inserts through his head and out the other, hitting the ground to ricochet somewhere else. There is no reaction time, as the body drops to the floor.
-- Aiden --
Aiden saw the Mandalorian protect him from incoming blaster shots barely even doing anything to stop them, he was about to ask them if they were okay, but when he saw them shoot three shots in a row and seemingly kill a soldier, he knew he did not need to ask and decided to repay her protection by pulling his weight around her, so he leans back flatly on a wall, his left hand on his stomach to help with his breathing, and then extending his blaster towards one of the soldiers, pressing the trigger twice, as the bolts flew towards one of the soldiers.
-- Xavier --
One trooper remains, backpeddaling from the onslaught that has all but massacred his comrades. Thinking of turning to run. He knows this place pretty well... could probably lose them in the maze of belts and machines and crates. He turns as if to run, but with his first step he staggers: trips upon something though there is nothing there.
Off balance, the already injured Stormtrooper all but flies, carried by an invisible momentum until they end up impaled on the blades of a combine harvester. What remains of the First Order's presence have fallen to the inevitable.
Xavier emerges from his spot, tucking his slugthrower away and retrieving the next cigarette from a pouch that is likely supposed to be holding ammunition. Walking casually among the dead, he regroups with his team, commenting "Well done. Payment will be forthcoming," through a cloud of exhaled smoke.
It isn't long thereafter that backup from orbit join them to fully secure the area and take stock of the remaining labour force. The processing facility of the northern quadrant now belongs to the Sith Empire and they've begun to dig in their roots into Thyferra.
