Log:Serenno's Fate
The First Order makes plans for Serenno.
OOC Date: January 6, 2015
Location: Finalizer
Participants: General Hux, Kylo Ren
The room is dark, with the active holoimage of the galaxy p4oviding most of the light. Ren has his back to the door, and his upturned mask scours the points of light thoughtfully. Both hands rest on the holoterminal's edge, and wrapped around one of them is a handmade necklace.
The door hisses open, and Hux steps out of the bridge, approaching the holoterminal from a different angle than Ren grips it from. He says nothing, though his eyes stop studying Kylo from behind as soon as his eyes are visible to Ren's sight. At that point they turn to the galaxy hologram, and its ccontrols.
"Your men have done well securing our newest battlefield, General," Kylo says plainly, voice modulated and made somewhat emotionless by the helmet. "A cruiser ran the blockade last night--An older model, but fast. The girl got to them and invited them to watch her funeral," he says softly, mask turning back to regard the stars.
Hux's eyebrows rise. "Was this vessel sporting a cloaking device?" he asks. "We do not have enough ships for a true blockade," he says, eyebrows descending back to their professional position. "But if you have its vector and its departure point, we will find her."
Kylo shakes his head. "It isn't of any consequence. Liars and thieves do not often make a habit of reporting to authorities. They did what they could and served the Order well. The girl, meanwhile, is no longer a threat to us. And, she revealed the traitor amidst the Serenno Houses," Kylo says direly. "This has presented another opportunity for us," he explains.
The General nods once, looking sideways towards the Knight of Ren. "We will demonstrate the price of treachery, at the very least."
"The girl was the daughter of Bron Dooku, Regent of Serenno. With your elimination of the regent, the heirs of Dooku have all but been extinguiwhed," Kylo says, "It is time to legitimize taking their holdings."
"Her keepers must have been loyal, to not take the five million credits House Ber'arr offered for her." Hux moves one hand behind his back, looking at Ren to hear the rest of his proposal.
"Family ties are often the hardest to break, but, she's no longer of any concern. What is a concern is what happens with House Dooku. General, what would you propose we do with such a sudden vacancy in House Dooku?"
"I see two choices. One, to make a minor member of the House a puppet and elevate him to the office of Regent." Hux looks back up at the galaxy map with the corners of his mouth tugging up into a tight smile. "But I think it better to seize all of House Dooku's properties, businesses, and titles as punishment for his treachery to the First Order and the people of Serenno, while elevating another House to the Regency." He turns his head slightly. "Distributing many of the titles and holdings to other Houses will make them complicit in the House's destruction. It will never rise again. A suitable punishment, I think."
"Then we are on the same page. I leave the finesse to you, General. We should begin our search with the mining colony. It was important to Dooku, and there are ... rumors of a vault in Serenno that belonged to the family. It would do us well to find this vault," he says. He turns some, towards Hux. "The resources we have access to here will do us well. How close are we to eliminating the Rebel J'kar faction?" he asks.
"We have their most outspoken leader, Millus J'Kar in custody. He is in a softening-up period before the interrogation begins. He was trying to arm Serenno's civilians." Hux meets the mask's stare without blinking, a feat which has taken practice. "Some are in hiding. We have destroyed what military capacity they possess. Most of what remains are private starports and a few scattered militia bases."
"Very well," says Kylo calmly. He seemed as good of spirits as anyone had seen him in. No telling how long it would last. "I will support the assaults as we turn to eliminate the remaining threats," he says.
"I will so inform Captain Phasma," Hux says. "I will also ensure you receive the preliminary reconnaissance reports from the mining colony. It won't be long. What are you expecting to find in this vault?" He gives Kylo another look. "I will not send stormtroopers without proper preparation, should it be a weapons silo or laboratory."
"Droids," He says plainly, before shaking his head. "Count Dooku was the second apprentice of Darth Vader's Master. There's no telling what secrets he hid," Kylo explains, "But they belong to us."
Hux nods once. He appreciates the value of the first, at least. "I assume you will want to be present when it is found and breached." There is no doubt in his voice or expression that it -will- be found. "You brought back an interesting vessel," he says.
"I would simply caution anyone breaching it. The Sith were extremely paranoid," he says quietly. "Brought back and lost," he says grimly. "But not for long. A relic of the Sith from ages past," he says.
"Then I will see to the preparations. Is there anything else?" Hux doesn't back up, nor do his muscles even show any tension of preparing to move that way.
"Unless you have something for me, General," says Kylo quietly. He turns, then, towards the galaxy map once again. "With Serenno in containment, we should consider our next move. But, a discussion for another time," he adds.
With a nod, Hux turns away from the galaxy map and Kylo Ren, moving to the door to the bridge and passing on into it after the sliding door hisses open.
