Log:Rey: The Dark Cave

Rey steps inside the cave, she moves down over a series of interwoven roots and slips herself down through an opening in the rocky floor into another small natural corridor. Once inside, her eyes look all about, she scans around for any signs of life or the source of the evil scent on the flow of the Force around her, through her. But there's seemingly nothing but a winding and turning cavern corridor.

A darkness sits at the end of that corridor and it draws to Rey, urging her to move forward further into the darkness and the chilly air within the sub-terrainian tunnel.

With a shakey breath, Rey steps forward, pulled by the darkness to go just 'a little further into the cave'. Her eyes scan right to left, her hands reaching out to touch the mossy rock wall and test the feeling of the moss against her fingertips. She makes a little face of displeasure at the texture of it and then wiggles her fingertips together before pressing onward further inside and into the corridor.

After another two turns, a left and a right, the young woman finds herself stepping into a dark and shadowy chamber where little light seeps in from the few small holes in the cavern ceiling above.
Water is draining into the chamber from a crevace on the northern wall and its draining into a small pool inside the room causing the sounds of splashing to echo off of the rock walls.

Rey emerges into the room and she pauses a few footfalls inside of it. Once more her eyes scan about, eager to take in all the sights of the new location and it instaly reminded her of the cave on Ach-to. Visions of seeing herself repeated into infinity fluttered into her mind as she started to walk further inside until her head and face were illuminated beneath one of the beams of light coming down from above.

"You made it. Safely." A voice speaks out from the darkness to the southside of the room. A voice Rey would know all too well, the voice of Ben Solo. "Just in time too. Here, come..." His black gloved hand reaches out toward her and his eyes turn to motion toward, a window? Looking out into space where a combat situation is unfolding, weapon fire and bright explosions.
When Rey looks down she'll find herself clothed in black, similar in style to that of Kylo though slimmer fit and a tall black collar going up her throat ot the base of her head. Her hair is tied back in thick braids and is also died a deep ebony shade.

His voice was shocking for her to hear, so suddenly out of the dark it pulled her mind out of the 'here and now' and back to the days of Ach-to. "Ben!" Rey says in a sudden burst at hearing him, her face instantly turning to an expression of distaste and disgust. She was ready to lash out at him when she registers what exactly he had said.
"I, what?" She responds, following him as he walks over to that window...? She's on a starship now! Rey does a quick side-to-side to see herself on the bridge of what looks like a First Order ship! She's about to speak up again when she hears and sees an explosion outside the viewport, the quick flash of orange and her geze turns to the display. Hesitantly she moves forward to peer outside.

"Its our final step in securing our Galaxy." Ben replies to her, as he reaches his gloved hand out toward her right shoulder to place it gently down upon the solid-black clothing she wears.
"We've done it." He continues, his eyes going back to the viewport. "The shields are going up soon across all the controlled worlds... and this pitiful planet's endless seas will now sizzle and boil for a thousand years."
Outside the viewport a massive space battle ranges, a water world surrounded by old Rebellion-era Mon Calamari cruisers that now lay decommission and unarmed are on fire.
The planet itself? A brilliant ball of deep blue oceans, except for one foul mark in the center of its otherwise idealic view... a foul shade of deep green that is growing slowly out in all directions.

Something terrible was happening, she could feel it deep inside her. Her eyes observe the spreading rotten ocean water far below on the surface of that planet. Her eyelashes flutter as she blinks and looks over to him again. "What have you done?" She asks him then, voice soft and trying to hold back emotions of many flavors, many different desires. Something was off about her emotional state all together right now, as though she was being pulled in different directions to the extremes of each emotional state.

"I've ended it." Ben says, looking from her with a little smirk and back out to the viewpoint glass, standing close enough to it that his reflection is visibly right next to his scarred face.
"Mon Calamari was the last Hope of a new Rebellion. Now, its waters burn and its people with it."
His eyes return to the young woman at his side. "Together, we return to Coruscant.... we raise the shield and we lock our place firmly in control of the heart of the Galaxy. From there? We watch the rest fall to their knees and beg for our leadership."

Rey's eyes blink at the revelation of what was happening in front of her. The First Order was exterminating life on another planet, an entire civilization being wiped out, again. Her breathing was anxious, she pulls in oxygen between her lips and and her jaw clenches with anger pulling at the muscles inside her face. Rey's hand clench into fists and then she feels it against her hip, the metalic form of a lightsaber?
Her eyes lock with Ben's... with Kylo's. She glares at him as he looks out the window, seemingly enjoying the show that he's watching comfortably aboard his dark ship?
Suddenly, Rey's hand reaches for her lightsaber and she draws it up and ignites the blade. Deep crimson blade, solid and strong! Aimed directly at Kylo's left ear!

The Supreme Leader WAS enjoying it, that much was clear on his vissage. He stares out at the display of the carnage that -their- Order has brought down upon this Rebellion alligned planet and he was eager to see it corrupted and ruined.
"You don't care for this?" Kylo then asks, as his eyes glance back over to her to see her struggling with it.
But when he sees her expression he just slowly turns his head to fully look at her and then both of their sabers are drawn, his gnarled and unstable blade coming to meet her more formed and fit-both crimson-both ready for a fight.
"Its already done!" Kylo shouts at her. "There's nothing you can do about it now!"

Rey glares at the man, the man she loathes more than anyone in the Galaxy, the man that draws her hate out of her like she's never experienced from anyone or anything else.
"I can stop you!" She tells him back, jaw still clenched and her hands grasping around the hilt of her activated lightsaber. Rey's eyes stay locked onto Kylo's face and she raises her blade as he raises his...
A thousand options trail through her mind, a thousand different ways she might end him right now and save everyone... out there. Her eyes look 'out there' to the window on her left, and in one moment of foolish self-sacrifice she slashes her lightsaber at the glass keeping them within the confines of the First Order's command ship!

Kylo's blade moved to stop hers but it was all too late and it failed to collide with Rey's crimson hued beam. The girl's attack on their combined safety was successful. The viewport is shattered and the bridge of the command ship is exposed to the vacuum of space! The world around them is thrust into a state of pure chaos as they're both SUCKED into the freezing and choking emptiness of space!
Except, not.
Rey is brought back out of the vision of the darkness and back into the shadowy, Dagobah cavern chamber.

The young woman was ready to die, ready to end her own life if it meant she could end his too. It seemed the most absolute way... With Kylo out of the First Order's control then the instability would surely cause the tyrants to fall, just as it had to the Galactic Empire before it.
But then, she find herself back in the cave. No longer in the black robes of a member of 'his' Order, but back into the orange flightsuit of a Republic pilot. Rey gasps for breath, her mind moving quickly to catch up to the sudden return to reality. It had all been a dream? Like on Ach-To?
Suddenly she turns and runs for the exit of the cave, to get back outside and away from the darkness in this place!

The rain had entirely stopped by the time that Rey emerges from the cave. The swampy forest had filled with a low-setting fog and the sun was almost completely gone from the sky now.
As the young woman bursts from the cave on her way away from the darkness, a voice speaks up from beside her, from the base of a mossy tree's trunk.
"Going so soon, young one?" The voice asks, an ethereal tone to its high pitch. "Much to tell you, have I..."
