Log:Narsai and Ax chat
A little chat
OOC Date: January 27, 2016
Location: Waywards Common Room - Nar_Shaddaa
Participants: Ax, Narsai_Ordo
Last time they'd met, Ax had told the Mandalorian to come see him when she felt better, that maybe he could explain some things. When she finally does come about, asking for him, she's pointed towards the common room where the man is currently awaiting a meal. Ax is sitting at one of the tables in the room, a glass of beer in front of him and utensils. Currently, aside from the droids, he's the only person present. Music is being played over the room's speakers, but it's mostly just there as background noise.
It wasn't the first time she'd been over here, but this was a little different to casual greetings and visiting friends. She wasn't dense enough to think that there wasn't something to this 'mystery illness' and Ax had claimed to know what it was. A long shower, a rest and the relaxation of disassembling one of her weapons, but eventually she's shown through the door and into the common room, already looking better for the distance from the 'object'.
When Narsai is shown in, Ax stands up and motions for her to take a seat across from him. "Can I get you something to drink? I was just about to have dinner, you are more than welcome to join me for that as well. The galley is fully stocked, and the droids make a very fine Corellian cuisine." He pauses a moment, "How are you feeling? First time for me was a nightmare. Cold sweats, nausea... just general unpleasantness in every regard."
"Better," she answers, moving towards the table and to take a seat for herself. "Much better then I did." The redhead's eyes look down at the food, but the drink and meal are both waved away with a gesture of her hand and a shake of her head, answers obviously something she's more hungry for. "At the time it felt almost like...some kind of cold fever all over. I've been around A'isha before and it never happened to me."
"It's not her," Ax says. "I thought so too. There's something she has that will have such an effect on people like you and I." As he speaks, the droid arrives, putting down a plate of food, some kind of meat and potato dish with a side of raw greens. "She's supposed to keep it locked up, and I hope to get the item cleansed so it will not have such an impact." He sips at the beer and sticks a fork in the food. "Anyway, I'm sure you have a ton of questions. I don't have all the answers, not by a long shot. I just happen to have had a little luck in getting a few answers."
"Something..." Narsai says before frowning, sitting up a little and then tilting her head to the side. "If...it is what I think it is...I felt it once before, but never like that..." she trails off and looks up at Ax, folding her hands into her lap and moving on to the biggest question he might have an answer for. "Why? Why did it happen...you said it happened to you too, why did it happen to either of us an noone else?"
"Because we're more sensitive to the force," Ax says. "I don't know much about such things, but I've been in contact with a few things that make the object she has seem like a teddy bear. There's a man who works we think is one of the leaders of the First Order who wields immense power. I don't know his name, but we call him Fuckstick. Wields a red lightsaber, can move his hand and throw a group of people across a room and with a look stopped a blaster-bolt mid-air when it was fired from a rifle."
"The force?" She repeats, clear doubt coming through the Mandalorian's voice. "Do I look like a 'Jetti' to you?" Even so, the humor sort of drains away as he lists off the description of the masked man. It was a desciption she'd heard before after all, even if she hadn't seen it. "So...lets say it's true. I've never done anything like that, moved things or stopped blaster bolts with anything other then my armor."
"I'd be willing to bet though, that you have a good gut instinct about things. You probably know, more often than not, when something is a threat. You move before the trigger is even pulled. Maybe you know when someone is telling you something false, even if they don't have a real tell, just you know." Ax takes a few bites of his food, letting that sink in for a moment. "I've seen a few crazy things, when Qadira was in trouble, I swear through a burst of will I moved a falling panel away from her. I don't know how I did it, but I knew I did. I've touched things and had waking dreams about them, things that were touched by the Sith or whatever they were."
"I..." Narsai says slowly, words falling back to a frown...then almost an expression of sadness. There's a curse, but it's probably not a word understood by anyone who doesn't speak Mando'a. "So you're saying that all my talents, being good at what I am...isn't because of practice or skill but because I've got something holding my hand?" A shake of her head and the Mandalorian woman clenches a fist. Clearly the idea that her abilities might not be entirely hers seems to sting. "These...'Sith' things. Did they ever make you angry? Violent?"
"I don't think that's how it works. Nothing is there holding your hand. You're just more in tune with the energies around you. There might be some kind of religious intonations or something, but from a more scientific standing, you're just more receptive to the flow of energy than most. You can sense the motions faster or something." Ax fumbles for some words, "Like I said, I don't have all the answers, but hopefully I can give you some." He pauses, taking another sip of his beer after a bite of food. "The holocron did," Ax says. "Aboard the Infiltrator, we found a Sith holocron. It... it didn't make me angry but... I'd have done anything to take it. I could hear it talking to me, in my head. So very seductive. Kael shot me with a stun bolt to keep me from taking it, fortunately. There were several relics aboard that ship, even the ship itself had so much energy to it."
"Like you had to have it...like you'd hurt people who tried to stop you...right?" the woman says slowly, looking down at her hands. "I felt something like that, I was in a cantina and someone walked in...I just -knew- they had something and I wanted to hurt them for it. I barely managed to walk out before I would have started shooting."
There's a nod. "Yeah, though I've learned to control myself a bit better," Ax says. "I've been near the holocron a few times since then, and been alright. Granted, I won't touch it, and you shouldn't either. If there's a red, crystal cube with dark markings on it, just back away." Ax looks the Mando over, "You sure I can't get you something to drink? Some water maybe? I feel kind of awkward sitting here eating in front of you while you're empty handed."
"That...might not be a bad idea." Yep, she could use a drink with all they're discussing. Reaching up she runs a hand through her hair she exhales a long breath and waits, letting him or the server droids provide her with the drink before Narsai looks up at him. "So how did you learn to control it? That urge...have you learned anything out about using this...thing?"
"A deep breath, close your eyes, focus," Ax says. "Meditation, I'm still learning, but that's the key. Clear your head, tell yourself that you are in control, and know your limits. I didn't say it was easy, but it's doable," Ax says. He motions for the bartender droid so Narsai can order whatever she wants. "As for learning how to use it? No, not really. I do know that you should seek out a Jedi. It's what I'm trying to do, but it's been difficult at best. There are clues out there, but no guarantees that one even exists. I just know that while the Sith holocron will promise power, knowledge, the price isn't worth it. It's why it's stowed away with someone who has no sensitivity and can keep it safe until we can figure out what to do with it."
"I'll keep that in mind." Narsai speaks after placing her order and then looks back at Ax. "But I'm not sur I agree that it is 'safe' stowed away as it is. If he keeps walking around like that with it...what if there's someone else like us? Hell what if it -is- us that snaps and goes for it. At the least you'd expose it, but we could get someone killed. It should be locked up somewhere solid enough that noone's getting to it easily, not carried around in someone's back pocket."
"Oh, if he's walking around with it, then it's definitely not safe," Ax says. "Just like the lightsaber our friend has that triggers you and I with such emotions. If Fuckstick were to come near, he's trained in such things. It would be a homing beacon, and we already know he's looking for the holocron." Ax shakes his head and takes a few more bites as the droid rolls off to fix Narsai's drink and bring it back. "The First Order is looking for things like that, and so are we, to keep them from them, and maybe learn some things."
At this point, Narsai decides that this all so much to take in, and needs a while to think, hence the scene ends.
