Jedi Order: Ghosts of Sullust
OOC Date: May 9, 2020
Location: Sullust
Participants: Jedi Order, Liren, Vhe Tenara, Elrych Cometburn, Ban Iskender, Bizz Bliptettjupp, Yuun, Aryn Cole
The Sentinel Academy on Sullust was not a secret location, prior to the Imperial Purge. Pinpointing the site is less difficult than gaining access to it, as the cavern- together with the surrounding tunnels for miles in every direction- are now the property of the SoroSuub Corporation. However the friends made among the Sullustan Warren-clans have provided their Jedi benefactors with both fact and rumor that has proven interesting, and warranted a covert trip to the First-Order occupied world. First, the fact that SoroSuub has done nothing more than put up basic barriers to block off access to the old Jedi site. Second, the rumor that this fallen temple has remained abandoned, due to the ghosts. The Sullustans share that any who have ventured toward the ruins disappear forever, denied their sacred burial rites by the vengeful specters of a former age, acting out battles long forgotten.
A few Sullustans of the nearest clan had volunteered to guide the Jedi through the darkness of the underground to the edges of the abandoned tunnel system, one asking along the way if any of the Jedi had met the great Nien Nunb. When they reached the corporate barricade, the Sullustans would translate the posted signs for the Jedi (Property of SoroSuub Corporation, Advanced Analytics Department. Sorosuub and its subsidiaries are not responsible for injury, death, or displaced souls resulting from trespass), but would go no further. The barricade was merely a piece of light fencing, which blocked any further passage. In the trackless darkness ahead, distant shrieks and wails haunt the ear.
"Shrieking and.. screaming.." Aryn comments as she draws the hood of her cape back and closes the distance toward the fencing, braving a touch to see if it moved or would require their lightsabers to cut through it.
"It sounds too un-Jedi like given the spectre we saw at the last temple.." She seeks direction from the other members of the party, but has drawn her hilt free of her belt, prepared to activate the curve item.
"That sign is oddly specific," Vhe remarks as they pass it, her head turning to regard the warning at length. A tug at the bottom of her sleeveless tunic and she focuses ahead once more. The overall environs leave one to imagine what might await. "And we are to venture forth.." she remarks faintly, walking up to the barricade with a glance into the abyss. Her hand goes to the stunsaber at her side but does not pull it from her belt, more to check to see if its still in place.
She steps back and turns her head to look at the others. Ghosts indeed. She moves to find the best way through the barricade without deconstructing a portion of it. "We came to see what is here, best to end a mystery of what is making that sound."
"This all seems to be of one piece," Liren comments to herself as she approaches the fence. Since her force sensitivity came to light, partially in thanks to her brother, Liren has moved from stairways opening in what looked like solid floors to shrieking souls.
"It is, isn't it, Vhe," she says more loudly, then crouches to examine the fence. "Could it be something as prosaic as wind whistling through tunnels in the cave system?"
Elrych Cometburn stands there looking over the poorly put together barracade, using his dark green robes to rub off some dust and smudges that had collected on his shades. "The thing about truspassing is..." He starts, placing his glasses back on the bridge of his nose, "That it can be a wild card. Ya never know if somone will shoot you for trying or you can lie your way out of getting caught. It used to be fun." He had experiance of course being the troubled youth that he had been. He looks towards Vhe and gives a nod, "slightly unsettling. It might be a speaker of some kind diwn deeper, used to deter unwanted guest... like us."
Brother Bizz Bliptettjupp had stopped off at the Piringiisian green mud baths for an intelligence gathering mission before delving into the mines. He is still scraping the rejuvenating goop from his fingernails while they delve deeply and greedily into Sullust's caves. "This mud is very good for the skin. Moisturizing is key I am told." He sniffs the air and looks around the barricade, attempting to assess its breadth. "Humm..."
The barricade flexed slightly with pressure, but the bolts which bit into the stone of Sullust ensured that there would be no discreet path around, nor would the fencing fall for simple pressure. It was sufficient to keep out anyone without a cutting torch, explosives, or mastery of telekinesis.
"I doubt most courts would find such a disclaimer binding," Ban guesses, with a wry note. "'Displaced souls' indeed." Sniff! He nods in silent assent with Aryn, before voicing toward Liren, "I daresay anything natural would fail to deter the Sullustans, lady. I suspect they know their own world too well." As Aryn draws her saber hilt and looks for direction, he nods a second time. "Let us proceed through, and seek what we have come to find."
Acknowledge by Ban, Aryn nods her head, though her attention shifts as the others come beneath the light that exists in this space. A quiet contemplative studies the others before she breaks the reverence with the SNAP-HISS of her lightsaber. A slow trace of the fence sees it opened in short order, with ample space for those taller in their party to pass. Aryn holds her lightsaber to her side, deactivating it when the feat is done.
"Right. On we go then.." Aryn shoves the displaced fence aside and marches on after hooking her lightsaber back to her belt. A brush of her cape and gloved hands dust each other off.
Nodding to Liren, Vhe shifts, walking along the barricade before Elrych speaks and she slows. "Just a little," she says facing him as she turnsa bout to look at the dark. Nothing to see here. Nothing at all. She wets her lips and watches Aryn step in towards the forbidding dark. Bizz however gets a look of uncertainty, her brow arching. "Noted." she hesitates but soon is following with the others but the Ysanna has no real sense of depth or knowledge of what is around her. She reaches out to briefly brush her hand against Elrych's arm to assure herself of where he is and that she's not to step off and get lost.
The flare and hiss of lightsaber fill Liren's ears as Lady Aryn cuts a neat hole in the fencing for all them to gain entry into the caves and the mysteries it holds. Exchanging glances with Vhe before she passes in, Liren follows behind, giving Elrych wide berth.
The darkness swallows the details of the cave until she has the idea of turning on her stun saber to use it for light. The rough edges of the rock formations come into view under the wavering light.
Elrych Cometburn was doing his best, but it was very dark. He was surprised Vhe reached out for him to assure herself he was there as He had jept bumoing into her as the group stopped and went. "Just take my hand..." He whispers, grabbing her hand gently and letting her lead the way. "Cant see well."
Bizz grumbles about the darkness. "These Sullustans and their caves..." He opens his leather satchel and takes out an antique Nabooian wishglobe, an ancient lantern used by the Naboo for lighting. He slaps the round thing twice and a bright luminal ring illuminates the cave for over ten meters. "Oh this cave formation is quite special." Vhe Tenara is nearby. "Yes, the mud is special. I am told it also helps with hair growth! That might be helpful in your position. You are a padawan LEARNER, yes? I have read that padawans of old grew learner braids that were quite fashionable. You should grow one. Perhaps Master Rey will make it mandatory!"
It took a bit of fancy flying skills that Yuun doesn't have much of at ALL. All that fancy was just blending in with normal traffic to the planet and making planet fall, which was insanely funny if any of the other more competent pilots saw him. Yeah, his piloting game has to get better. Still Yuun lands his ship and is able to make it to the rendezvous point. But.....no one was there. He reads the signs and senses the force feeling the others further down. He quickly moves making sure no one sees him and he walks down the tunnels until he senses the others, though he keeps himself quiet and tries to mask himself within the force so that the others don't sense him. Why not try to scare the kriff out of your friends right!
Ban Iskender steps through the improvised gate, as the molten edges of Aryn's cut are cooling to orange and red. The winding passages remain dark, and go on for miles in the darkness. The air is largely stagnant, save for the irregular stirring which sets cloaks to rustling and the surface of still, dark pools to rippling. In passing one such pool, Ban this to caution,A "Do not break the surface of any waters. In such caverns, toxic gasses can build up until the surface is disrupted. Highly poisonous." Underground survival training on Cophrigin Four. Ahh, good times. Aside to Bizz, he notes dryly, "Odd, given that the Sullustan tend to be hairless." He glances away as the light globe is struck up, until his sight has adjusted to the sudden light source. As they go, the golden luminescence reveals a grisly obstacle looming before them: a pair of chains form a large X across the tunnel, to which has been bound the dessicated body of a long dead Sullustan.
After clipping the lightsaber back in place on her belt, Aryn brushed her back her cape to draw out a small, high beam flashlight that was clicked on and immediately angled toward the ground. Aryn took the rear of the group, keeping to herself for the most part and listening as the other spoke and things were pointed out. From her walk, she gathered much of the obvious surrounding the formation of these caves and shined her light toward the modifications made by sentient life. Most appeared sturdy, withstanding the elements. Aryn was taken back by the ingenuity of the Sullustans, but made no note of it aloud.
When they arrived, and the dessicated came to view, the young Doctor stepped forward to examine the remains with a neutral look on her expression. It was an old corpse, but they need not hear her voice it to observe that themselves. Aryn took the placement of this corpse to mean a message, one that led her to unclip her lightsaber once more and hold it in a gloved hand.
The hand offered and taken, Vhe nods to Elrych so that while she can not quite focus enough in the dark she remarks, "We do not seem to be going very deep but we are angled at a downward slope, or so I am feel. She lets out a breath and stops, listening when there are moments of quiet. Her eyes even briefly close as she tilts her head and turns it to allow herself the angle on occasion for sounds. "Wait.." she says, her voice a hush at first before her gaze blinks open, stopping her from running into Aryn and Ban. "There is ..what sounds like a volcano rumbling....and a ship? Yes, it has to be a ship that is powering down ahead of us. Its distant but I can not exactly say how far. Someone else is here. Not spirits." She says as her eyes quickly look to either side of the strung up Sullustan, her shoulders growing tense.
"Ah, that helps immensely, Monk Bizz," Liren breathes with relief as the lamp he carries lights their way. "A facial with the mud from this planet might become the galactic rage if it works half as well as you say it does.
Liren steps aside for a moment and just as she does the eerie moaning that they've already heard sounds from nearly overhead. It keens, but there is no heart in the sound. Fixed on the source, Liren strains to pinpoint it when suddenly a mechanical motion confirms her suspicions. A few steps further and the tunnels take a macabre turn.
"Poor man. I wonder how long he has hung here. Look Ban! Does that look like an intake valve to you? There is the source of our wails," she says with the air of vindication that only an older sister can have.
Vhe's observation adds another layer to the oddities of the cave system. Behind the sad spectacle of the body, the cave appears to lighten somewhat.
Elrych Cometburn gives Vhes hand a squeeze as they come across the dead sullustan, taking his lightsaber from his belt but night igniting his. As they continue, eyes glance to the walls, a few laughs from the corellian here and there. "Ha! Dahni has a fat forehead that looks like a fanny."
Brother Bizz nearly drops the Nabooian wishglobe as a dead body is illuminated. "By the FORCE!" he hisses, covering his sensitive nose with a part of his kasaya robe. "I think someone has been mucking about in here. I smell alcohol." The bright illumination of his globe reveals a few broken bottles on down the way. "So disrespectful." He comes close to the dessicated corpse and mutters a Jedhan prayer for the dead. "May you become one with the FORCE," he ends it with, then steps around the disrespected body to continue onward. He uses his uneti-wood walking stick as an aid.
Yuun sees that the others haven't notiiced him, he will keep it like that for now. He does look around, having heard a bit of what was said about not going into the water. He wasn't planning on it, this didn't seem like the place you wanted to do certain things. Still his mind is focused on what he is doing. He cast a look around and he moves near some stalagtites and sees a dead Sullustan in what looks to be a civilian flight suit. He closes his eyes and offers a bow of his head mentally hoping for safe travels. He then begins looking around again, keeping quiet and keeping himself masked for now.
Ban Iskender follows Liren's direction toward the spotted valve, "I see nothing. What do you-" Stepping to peer closer, he finds a fresh angle. "Ah, so it is. A rather simple, but cunning mechanism, deliberately placed." He is given pause by the macabre warning crossing the tunnel, ahead. A slow breath drawn in and let out. "Given the importance of their funerary rites, I daresay the Sullustans would find such a display doubly vile." A shake of his head and quiet word spoken under his breath as he passes.
As the band of Jedi proceed with varying levels of solemnity, the air begins to stir, and ambient light begins to fade in slowly, reflected off the full, winding stone of the tunnel from further ahead.
Aryn Cole resumes her place at the end of the group, taking note of the discoveries and comments made by the others. When the detail of the light had begins to taper, and show the shape of a bend in the corridor, Aryn's head tilts slightly and she clicks her light off. "Ahead.. beyond that bend. Something dangerous looms." Spoken quietly, Aryn patiently walks to one side of the wall, favoring the side that affords more cover as she steps forward to investigate.
The sound of a ship is reason enough for her to become wary, let alone the corpse tied up. "Nothing to do but continue, we always seem to find danger," she says to Aryn. Her hand releases Elrych's and her fingers curl a bit more tightly around the pommel. She squeezes the trigger to set the blade to light. Stunsaber it may be its better than nothing and she holds it up a bit so it does not compromise her gaze as she searches for anything from her days roaming the planets with her family. Nothing. Nothing crops up as familiar or recognizeable, giving a shake of her head as she has nothing to add. The thick braid down her back shifting.
Dead bodies hung without funeral rites, valves rigged to produce eerie wails, the sound of distant machinery all speak of some sort of clandestine operation. Liren slows with the others as they prepare to round the bend that might contain the answer to their questions.
Elrych Cometburn continues on just behind vhe.
Moving forward, Yuun is still keeping quiet and watching the others as he too is trying to find whatever secrects they're here to find. Noticing the chatter has died down a little, Yuun moves his hand to his weapon, as he tries to focus in on the danger the others are feeling, though as he focuses on that and trying too keep the others from knowing he's here, his attention drops. The rest would find that Yuun is here but he feels that he can't get a feel for where the threat to them is.
The Jedi Temple is majestic, even in ruins; as the tunnel opens up to a crumbling cavern, with the black sky of a Sullustan night overhead, with the dull red of volcanos for a backdrop, the new residents of the Sullust Academy complex become plain: three armed CEC freighters and a pair of run down Cutlass starfighters are landed in front of a row of ancient Jedi statues; piled crates of discarded cargo are piled up against the foot of the mountain, rooted through for valuables and cast aside by the dozens of bipeds (overwhelmingly, but not exclusively Human) who swagger, posture, or laze about the installation. Two such folk drag a body between them, counting one-two-three before hefting the limp form down toward a lava flow to dispose of it.
Ban says it first, with a terse word of distaste: "Pirates."
Aryn observes enough to see that this crew of disreputes are trying to dispose of a body as common as one might carry out the rubbish. "..I think not.." Aryn says softly as they cast the body toward the molten pit. Raising her hand, Aryn demonstrates her command of the Force by controlling the sudden descent of the body and stopping it in a manner that defied gravity as the crew knew it. Closing her eyes a moment, Aryn breathed out heavily and raised her hand, which in turn, raised the body back up to its point of origin! What a sight to behold! Surely?! Ghosts?!
Aryn holds this connection with the object, though her free hand motioned her companions onward, hopefully taking advantage of Aryn's distraction!
As Aryn reaches out through the Force, Vhe can feel it and she acts as well, starting forward as her free hand juts out, taking one of the figures in the midst of them and jostles him around back and forth once she feels the Force snap hold. She curls her fingers slowly manages to collide one pirate heavily into another. His head hits the other and he drops quickly as she lets him go before resuming her march forward with the lit saber. She holds it out in front of her to make it look like a hovering white glow. Definitely ghosts in the dark. Coming for the group.
It all comes together into a very unpleasant picture, as her brother so flatly stated in distaste: pirates. The worst of their kind from all appearances as they prepare to throw a body into a lava flow.
Lady Aryn's skill hums through the force as does Vhe's and the others in the group. Hand extended in front of her, Liren reaches into her growing sense of the force, still unsure of herself with telekinesis; a blaster leaps flying from one of the pirate's hands.
Elrych takes a cue from Vhe and Aryn as they come into the temple proper. He hadn't the time to admire the decadent beauty, not yet... not with a bunch of scrappy pirates occupying it. "So much for First Order blockades bringing peace and stability to the planet." He had been waiting, waiting a long time for that jab. "It's almost like it made it worse." His blue blade comes to life, humming brilliantly and deadly. His free hand reaches forward, and with a flick of his fingers and wrist there is a thunderous clap. One of the goons goes flying and into two others. "Please vacate this area at once, for your own safety."
Brother Bizz is incensed at the desecration of the temple. By smugglers, no less! And humans too. On Sullust. "Filthy poruks!" For a short and fat monk he moves fast. His round Nabooian wishglobe is dropped on the floor with a THUNK and starts rolling toward the ruffians like a bowling ball. Bizz grasps his uneti-wood stick in both hands and WHACK WHACK WHACK, he beats a pirate into the ground, then finishes him off with the famous Teras Kasi move, the Gundark Slap. A stray blaster bolt wings him but is mostly dissippated by the armor plating worn under his robe. "You disrespect this holy place!"
Yuun moves up as the others begin hurling pirates around, his hand reaches for his lightsaber and he begins running towards the group of pirates. His lightsaber igniting in mid-run, having ben able to move on one of the pirates, his weapon slashes through the pirate. Having heard Elrych try to talk to them and it didn't work. "People never listen." he says as he turns in a slow circle and as he does, he begins deflecting blaster bolts from him. "Everyone keep an eye on one another and move together."
The pair of legally challenged ruffians (hereafter called pirates) who had just pitched a body toward the lava are left to stare.. one eye larger than the other STARE as the body floats gently back up. "...No poodoo: how rekked up am I right now?" one has the time to ask, before the scoundrels who have defiled the temple are assaulted. Taken fully by surprise, flung bodily at one another, and at least one cut down by a LASER SWORD, half of the eighteen who had been loitering in front of the temple are unconcious or fleeing within moments. Legitimate flesh and blood wails and shrieks for help are raised as Ban chases after a trio of pirates, who sensibly are running away rather than stand against a saber. One shouts, "SOMEONE TAKE OFF AND SHOOT A TORPEDO AT HIM." One solitary pirate emerges from the ruins to see what the fuss is about and her one eye gets VERY LARGE. "...Uh. Drek."
Aryn turns her head to watch the other two ladies cast their own influence over the Force, each with a degree of success! "Well done, Lady Iskender and Vhe." Compliments Aryn just as a blaster bolt strikes well above her position to shower sparks down. Activating her lightsaber with a SNAP-HISSSSS--
The brilliant sapphire blue blade extended to its full 1.2m length and began to hum as Aryn guided the curved hilt to project its blade by her side. The blue trailed behind her as the Alderaanian began to walk a straight line toward the debacle of a battle below. The body she had command of was set to one side peacefully, and no sooner had she released it, Aryn took notice of another coming into the temple.
To stave any enthusiasm of a counter attack, Aryn put the esoteric fear of the unknown into her by trial of experience. Casting her palm out, a violent force of telekinetic energy kicked up a valley of dust along the ground, marking the trail straight toward the poor soul who had walked in on this. She was plucked off the ground in an instant, smashed against an unseen and unforgivable force, and cast backward head over heels from the entrance of the Temple to roll haphazardly down the small slope of loose gravel and soot.
Aryn didn't take great joy in harming others, but she seemed entertained by the look of the pirate's face before being cast back out. Aryn twisted her lightsaber idly then, twirling it with an innate sense of where it was and giving the appearance that she was encased by the blue sapphire energy. She stepped near other foes, prepared to use her technique to intercept what came her direction.
The stunsaber already lit is employed, the Ysanna hurtles forward to join the others in the fray. Vhe's pulling back her hand to bring her saber about quickly to try to pull in a tight strike as soon as she gets within range. She is in mid swing and going at her intended dance partner with the hopes her most recent training will pay off. But no! The uneven ground and debris make her hop, and skip and the back foot catches on her front to tangle her long legs amongst each other. There is a brief gasp of panicked surprise as she falls into the pirate, her stunsaber lost in the collision.
Pirate goes down in a mass of wild hair and teal robes as it rolls away unlit. She groans and feels a little uneasy as her head smacks against his jaw. She oofs and and starts to flail to get away from him, pushing away from the pirate but blindly so as she sees stars.
Blasters she knows, having practiced with them since a child. Sabers remain in the category of practice and more practice. Unwillingly, Liren takes the tried and tested route, picking off two of the pirates while Vhe grapples with one and Lady Cole neatly wields her lightsabers. Mayhem and chaos fills the ruins of the beautiful old temple as the pirates defend their ill gained turf.
Elrych Cometburn unleashes into the devolving and chaotic frey, his blue blade humming with hunger and the calmness of the force flowing through him. His strides with his blade aim for weapons or arms, disabling the pirates who are still a viable threat. Two fall to his slashes, a third is able to avoid his final strike, gaining some distance from the Corellian. A smirk comes over his lips, blue light awash over the pale skin of his face, tue blade reflected sharply in the lenses of his glasses. As Vhe encounter her iwn opponant that smirk disipates and he start to move towards her to assist. "Vhe!"
Bizz goes for the next pirate, his sturdy uneti-wood staff knocking the blaster out of a bruised one's hand and then smacking their knees out from under them. Down they go and Bizz finishes them with another SMACK. The rest of them appear to be fleeing. "Hey, someone stop my wishglobe!" The Nabooian wishglobe is rolling toward the chasm full of lava like a glowing bowling ball.
Yuun allows a slow breath to escape him, battle has commeneced. He looks at the others, seeing how they are fairing and with a blur of movement, Yuun is leaping towards the group closet to ones using Stunsabers. He sees Vhe miss, with this as he lands he moves into a forward roll. As he comes up his blade flashes as if a continues motion. The blue blade moves like lightning as he spins his blade one way and Yuun goes the other way, he takes down three pirates quickly. He looks to Elrych and Ban, making sure they are ok, he looks up seeing the otehr two pirates making a run for it and he quickly tries to reach out in the force to stop them but isn't fast enough.
A half dozen Jedi and one righteous monk make for long odds, and pirates have always preferred the stronger side of an unfair fight; a pair manage to rush up the ramp of a Barloz class armed freighter, howling for the fastest pre-flight routine on record. On the cavern floor, one pirate wrestled with Vhe, tearing back for a lunch, but the Ysanna ducks her head to one side and the fist crunches into volcanic gravel with a pained curse.
Ban cuts down a trio in quick succession- no one shot a torpedo at him, alas- and the short conflict on the steps of the fallen Temple is all but over.
With the fight coming to a near conclusion, pending Ms. Vhe's scuffle (to which Elrych was already moving to assist!!), Aryn recalls her lightsaber blade at the press of a button and hooks the hilt back to her blade in a practiced gesture. At Brother Bizz's call, Aryn turns about to see the globe rolling toward the molten pit and her eyes went big.
An initial raise of her hand produces nothing, and the globe still rolls! A second attempt ceases its descent, lifts it seemingly of its own accord, and draws it to her hand where she closes the distance to the guardian monk. "I believe this is yours, Brother Bizz. How fair you, sir?" She offers the globe to him, the light casting its hue on both of them.
Vhe tilts her head, already bloody from the initiatel contact with the pirate. Her lip cut and still bleeding as she lays beneath him. Her head tilts ot the side and allows the punch to go by her head to hear him growl in pain. Her hand comes up to focus the force at him. Gripping the figure she lifts him slowly and then starts to scoot up to her backend and pulls herself out from beneath. Her hair and robes are dusty at best and she shows a few roughed up patches along her arms as she continues to hold him and narrows her gaze as she gets a foot beneath her and other knee to the ground. She watches the others as she holds her dance partner in place.
She's fine. This is fine. She does not say anything for now, chest rising and falling quickly as she lets the adrenaline wear off a little.
Doors on the ship are barely closed before it starts to tremble as it's suspensors warm-up for takeoff. The ship or Vhe? Vhe seems to have her fight in hand. Eyes screwed shut in intense concentration, Liren stiffly holds both hands out in a vain attempt to slow the ship down. It's no go. Around her, she feels others make the same attempt.
Elrych Cometburn stops and smiles as Vhe is able to take care of herself. He should have fretted too much. Though as the ships spool up he joins the others in trying to keep them from launching
Bizz Bliptettjupp takes the Nabooian wishglobe from Aryn Cole. "Thank you, that is an antique! I would hate to drop it in lava." He dusts some of the dirt and ash from the wishglobe's surface then puts it carefully back into his kod'yok leather satchel. Then there is a hiss of pain as he realizes his shoulder has been wounded. "Those scallywags shot me!"
Yuun looks towards the ship and his hand reaches out towards it. He didn't want to kill those who escaped, he wanted to question them and have the Slusi people take them into custody. He closes his eyes as he senses Vhe is ok, he smiles as he feels those also reaching out trying to stop the ship from taking off. This thing is HUGE to him, why did he think he could stop this? Krif, he strains as he reaches out with his other hand and he could feel the ship pulling him, even with teh others trying to stop this ship, it's too big, and he's not trained a lot with his abilties of telekinesis. Yet he still tries until he can't hold on anymore.
Ban Iskender turns his green gaze up as the big old Barloz begins to lift off, angling for open sky. Like several others,he lifts his free hand in an invisible grip, seeking to bind the vessel to the planet, but his effort fails. The engine wash casts a harsh, artificial wind across the clearing, sending gravel, robe hoods, and cloaks alike whipping from the force of the fleeing freighter. Then, it is gone, receding into a bright blue speck at maximum speed. It was the only ship to escape, leaving the old ruins to the new Jedi for exploration.
Aryn nods to Bizz. "When this is over, Brother Bizz, come find me. I will treat this wound for you." She wore a frown for the pain he was in, but they were uncertain if all the danger had passed. Aryn braces, raising her arm to shield her face as debris was set to fly all over from the sudden take off of the ship. Cautious, she lowered her arm once it was gone and her cape had settled.
A casual motion of her hand saw Vhe's discarded stunsaber kick across the ground before coming airborne to land in Aryn's hand. She catches it, and walks it to Vhe with a silent look before offering it to her; this of course is followed by a small smile. "I'm glad you are okay."
Now, to the inspection of the dead! Aryn walks over toward the body she protected from destruction and rolls them to their back. Taking a knee for a moment, she draws out her scanner to search for a cause of death. She also begins to search the Sullustan spacer for any form of ID. It's a quiet process, conducted with the ease of someone who had grown used to seeing and interacting with dead bodies.
Still finding her center after the scuffle, Vhe does not release her new found companion in the form of the pirate. "They left you," she remarks to him, giving a rather scathing look before her attention is arrested by Aryn. Her amber eyes flick down to the hilt in her hand and then back up at the smile and comment. She nods and reaches out with her hand to take it as she keeps hold of the pirate, slowly rotating him so he's facing the group as she clips her saber to her belt. "Thank you. Me too." Wounded pride perhaps but she watches the others. "What do we wish to do with him?"
She tilts her head at the man who attempted to leave her face even more riddled with wounds. She mmmms and remarks. "I set you down, you stay there." She suggets as she sets his feet to the ground but not quite ready to release him just yet.
The temple beckons to be explored but Liren waits while Vhe questions the man she wrestled to a stand still.
Yuun turns off his lightsaber and clips it back to his belt. "How is everyone?" Yuun walks over to the others and check on them, seeing that Vhe was able to capture one of the pirates. He hopes they are able to find out something, but also be able to continue on with the exploration.
Elrych presses the activation button on his black and gold trimed blade, replacing the object back on his belt, before taking his place by Vhe's side. A arm reaches out, fingers fidgeting a bit as he reaches out with the force once Vhe puts the lone pirate down. "You will answer truthfully everything she just asked... and in great detail..." Now they'd be here for hours at least. Then, his eyes wander to look about the spectacle of the temple, a small smile coming to his lips.
Ban Iskender keeps his green saber lit as the young soldier raises it in a smart salute to the others, before moving into the ruined structure to see what he could find among the remains of the past.
Vhe's new friend shows admirable instincts for self preservation. He's quite happy to tell the nice wizard that their boss (a Human called Scurlock) had been using the "Dead Wizard Castle" as a hideout for years, but the ga g had only moved in full time since the Hosnian Cataclysm. They leave the Order's ships alone, and took what they wanted of the rest. He's the one who did the rude graffiti of a Twi'lek performing an explicit act on a carved Jedi lightsaber, but he feels REALLY bad about that, right now. They had been very ng tips about target alien ships from people called the 'Guardians', he joined the gang on Desevro... It goes on. In great detail.
