Jedi Order: A Lost Relic Pt 2
OOC Date: April 8, 2020
Location: Denon
Participants: Rey Skywalker, Ban Iskender, Elrych Cometburn, Yuun
The Jedi had come to Denon at the urging of Yuun who have found a possible lead to a Jedi Holocron, but this particular Holocron has been missing for some time and the only information that was found about the artifact was that it had been sold at an auction and later possibly stolen. Having arrived on Denon, the Jedi began gathering information on where they should start looking, Denon is a mega city similar to that of the now F/O Coruscant. Aryn spoke with a tech at the starport where they landed and was able to procure a speeder to get them to their destination.
One of Jedi is driving traffic is pretty heavy this time of day, speeders are moving through traffic and dropping down to lower areas of traffic, Yuun is sitting in the back of the speeder and staring off in the distance just looking and watching as speeders move about them and seeing people just going about their lives. There was a bit of doubt that they wouldn't find this artifact, but as he turns and looks at the others in the speeder, he smiles. It was always good to have as many of the Jedi to be here for this. They always are there for one another, it feels like a family when he's with them.
Elrych had taken the driver's seat almost before the paper work was signed for the rental. He was after all before all this a Driver and a Pilot. Though, Jedi had taken front and center since joining with the Order over a year ago. Cruising along, he turns up the radio with a swinging tune playing. It's not loud enough to where the group can't talk over each other. His hair blows in the wind from the downed window, a big old grin on his face as he cruises the group along. "The district we're looking for shouldn't be far..." THe corelian slaps his hands against the controls of the speeder, whistling along with the tune. Though that happy go lucky attitude goes out the window as he chances a look in the mirror... "Uh... You guys see those swoops? I think we're being followed..." He rolls his eyes behind those shades, "Like... who even knows we're here..." Then again, a bunch of people show up in fancy robes...
Ban Iskender observes the slowly passing cityscape from the passenger compartment of the speeder. "Next time, mayhap I'll bring a speeder bike, to hasten the.. journey," he adds, the hesitation coinciding with the discreet observation of a possible tail, trailing them through the traffic. "Hmm," he muses on the heels of Elrych's observation. "I do, though I'm uncertain how long they've been there. We are all bound into travel in the same direction, at present." Perhaps they're NOT following the Jedi? It's possible.
Rey is in the back of the speeder with Yuun, and she's wearing her blue robes since her other set still hasn't been repaired since the fight at the Bimm monastery. Over her eyes, she's wearing a pair of reflective goggles that help keep the wind out of her sight and it lets her look around the city planet. "This is the closest I think I've seen to Coruscant." Rey said to the others over the odd music coming from the front of the vehicle. "It's like Nar Shaddaa but... cleaner." It's wildly impressive is what it is, this Denon world.
A glance over to Yuun as he's watching and looking around as well. "Am I the only one who's never been to planets like this before?" She then asks all three of them, as the others seem so comfortable with it all.
But her stare goes back to glance over her shoulder. "Make an unplanned turn, see if they stay on us?" Rey suggests to the Driverman.
Yuun smiles, a bit, "I actually grew up on Coruscant, but since leaving, I've been able to go to other planets." he smiles to her. As Ban and Elrych speaks up about possibly being followed, he quirks a brow and frowns a little, "Can't we have just a little bit of peace." he says as he glances back as well. Though as he does so it just looks like he's looking around being a first timer here.
The bikers aren't moving to gain on them, they are just going with the flow of traffic for now, and if spied on again they can be seen bickering with one another, as one of them shakes their head. One is a Weeqay and the other is a Nautilan. Yuun quirks a brow and chuckles, "Yeah I agree with Rey." he says and he looks at her goggles and Elrychs Shades, "Ban we seem to be missing out on the eye wear."
"Good idea..." Elrych says to Rey, checking his mirrors before slipping over into another lane and then turning off into another traffic flow going around where they're actually destined to go. "See them now?" He asks the passengers even though he's glancing at the mirrors himself, gloved hands now gripping the wheel a bit tighter in preparation for a possible chase...
"I would not say I'm accustomed to such cities," Ban muses with a sniff of dry humor. "I simply can't tell one block from the next. If one were to say we have not moved at all, I would likely believe it." Idly, he advises Rey, "I pray you, do not look back at them openly, mistress. With luck, they'll think themselves unseen."
Rey reaches forward to grasp on to a safety grip to hold on while the speeder is moving in hasty maneuvers. She glances up to Ban in front of her and then over to Yuun. "I don't think the First Order is offering ten million credits for my capture any longer, but that's... probably not going to stop many people from believing it's still a viable way to a sudden influx of insane amounts of credits." She replies up ahead.
"Lets just not get jumpy either. It's a bad look for us, if they're in fact just perfectly fine and good citizens of this... impressive planet."
In the midst of their arguing, the two bikers ride past the group of Jedi as Elrych eases them out of their original heading. The bikers shake their heads and continue going as if they are on the right track. Yuun looks on as they move into a different lane. Looking towards Rey and he quriks a brow up, he nods his head to her and he looks to Ban and Elrych as they are sitting up front. "Good job Elrych." he says to his friend and he leans forward to pat him on the shoulder before sitting back in his seat.
The traffic does begin to pick up, and speeders are heading off in multiple different directions. Knowing where you are all going, it doesn't take long for you to make it into the shopping district where the shop you found is supposed to have the artifact which they are calling the holocron, it makes it sound more mysterious.
"Huh..." Elrych says, checking his mirrors again. "Maybe I'm just paranoid." He had just watched the arguing Bikers speed away without even turning to follow. "It has been a while since I drove in a place as busy as this." He does his best to keep up with traffic as he takes another exit and then moves into the district they were heading to. The Space GPS really helps in that reguards. Easing the speeder down and into a parking area, the engine starts to whine down. "Alright... here we are."
Ban Iskender inclines his head at their arrival and climbs smoothly out of the speeder, surveying their new surroundings as he does so. "Another step closer," he comments aloud. "Closer to what, we shall soon see."
Rey watches the swoops fly past and then she looks forward with a small smile. "See? They're just joyriders. I'm sure of it." She cheerily states before falling silent again as they continue on their journey. The journey ends at the shopping district and once parked, she stands up and nimbly hops out of the speeder, then leans back in to grab her traveling bag that she'd had at her feet. Hoisting it up she slips the strap over her head and then looks around to the others while her hands move to hold on to it lightly by said strap in front of her. "This is a lively place." She says, still wearing the goggles to help conceal her face. "Let's find this store, shall we? See if the rumors are true. I hope someone brought money, in case it's expensive." She offers a playful grin to all three of them.
The market district is one of many but the one that was highly possible to have the shop with the artifact. This area is packed with people of many different races, there is a degree of policing going on. There are soldiers here and there throughout the area. There are holo projections of ads and storefronts, there is also some news being shown here and there. Even out here there are murmurings of the F/O though people are going about what they are doing. There are people walking to their speeders with groceries and other items that they've procured. The antique shops are on the far end of this shopping district.
Yuun hopes out of the speeder and he stretches out, "Ok maybe this will be a pleasant outing, though we don't normally get that." he smirks a little, his clothing is casual, no robes of any kind but he does look slightly modern monkish with dark blue colored shorts with a short sleeved tunic with a long blue sash tied about his waist and white thin synthlaces criscrossing from his shoes up to his calf. "So we ready?"
"If Ban doesn't got it, then I got the credits I'm sure." Elrych says as he pops up and out of the speeder, closing the door as he moves to intercept the others. He pulls up his hood, and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. He glances around at the different shops as they move towards their destination, "If I recall correctly it was called 'Not a Problem.' Or something like that."
"If the authenticity of such an item can be proven, I should be quite pleased to put forward what credits I may," Ban assents to Elrych's comment. "Though I confess, I'm unaware of what sort of price such an item would command, if authentic." As they proceed in their search, he takes passing note of an unusual movement of one human among the crowd.
"I have a little bit on me, admittedly," Rey admits since she really was only joking. She strides along with the others and watches the civilians milling about their daily lives. When a woman passes by with her two kids, and one of the kids drops a toy behind them seemingly by accident, Rey scoops it up and rushes a few steps back to give it to the mother. She returns a moment later and catches the tail end of what they're talking about. Her hands go up and she pulls the goggles off of her eyes and over her head, then attaches them to her belt at her hip. With an inward deep breath taken, she looks around. She speaks quietly to the others. "I can't help but feel as though we're being watched. Keep an eye out for Stormtroopers. They're not hard to miss after all."
At Ban, Rey gently nods her head. "We should be able to identify if it's the real deal or not. We're amassing a nice collection of them thus far, but everyone we can get back is a true gift."
The figure seems to just merge into the crowd, unfortunately, Elrych didn't see the human. The little girl that dropped her doll smiles up at Rey, "Thank you!" she says and her mother smiles, "Thank you miss." she says as she ushers her daughter to their speeder. Yuun is just looking around, but he perks up when Rey speaks about watching out for Stormtroopers. "Yeah they would be easy to spot, but we didn't run into any Star Destroyers on the way in, though you are right and I will try to keep a lookout for that." which it would be noticed that he's more alert than he's been. "So are we ready to head in?" he quirks a brow at the others.
Elrych seems pretty chill, "Yeah just keep an eye out. Sometimes they send in smaller craft to patrol and shakedown worlds. Like on Passana at the festival." He chances one last glance towards the crowd passing by the shop before he opens the door to the shop for the others, entering himself only after a moment.
"Hmm. Just so," Ban notes with dry amusement to the lack of a Star Destroyer on their approach. A nod to Yuun. "Indeed. The longer we tarry, the worse it shall go, I daresay." He enters the shop with a nod to Elrych, after stepping aside for Rey to precede him. A short bow of the head and shoulders punctuate the bit of etiquette.
Rey's hands go back to the strap of her bag on her torso and she holds it tight between her fingers while her eyes scan left to right through the crowds. "Precisely so." She says to Elrych. "There are spies for them at any given moment as well, and those are much harder to spot." She's near to Ban and when he stops outside of the doorway she offers a little nod and a light smile. "Thank you." She says and turns to face the store entryway. "Let's go find this holocron, shall we?" She offers to the three men with her, trying to be optimistic that it's the real deal and that they'll walk away with a good win under their belts!
