House Gryph/Hutt Cartel - Prelude to a Ylesian Slave Uprising
OOC Date: Merch 19, 2021 (Optional)
Location: The Kyber Club VIP
Participants: Mydas Gryph, Saturi, Kite Gryph, Kira Gryph
In the Kyber Club's VIP, three men and two women wearing crimson, non-Beskar Mandalorian armor are standing with guns drawn as they apparently wait for someone. There are appetizers of shrimp and gourmet crackers placed upon two silver trays on opposite ends of the VIP section's moderately-sized dining table.
As it is early in the evening, the club is populated only by bartenders and waitstaff starting their shift.
Just the fact that Saturi is out of bed is a miracle in and of itself. The Pantoran woman strides into the VIP section with a strong facade. Even the least perceptive of the group will realize that something is wrong with her. In her hand is a sleek gunmetal cane, a loner, clearly not her own style. By the way that she walks, the aid is there out of necessity. It's definitely not a fashion statement.
High-end bandages are layered across the right side of her face. They stretch from her jaw, across her cheek, and over part of her ear. She has pulled the edge of her cloak out in an attempt to prevent anyone from viewing it.
The cloaked blue woman tries to slip past anyone present without being noticed, moving immediately towards the dining table so that she can rest.
Kite of House Gryph stands by the dining table, assessing the room. He spots Saturi and gets caught in an accidental stare as his mind becomes flooded with questions about her
Kira Gryph enters the club also as always the twilek would be near the side if Mydas and she looked around and over to the VIP area to see who would be around.
Walking behind Kira and Kite, Mydas enters the Kyber Club VIP flanked by five Hutt Cartel enforcers who stand guard just outside of the VIP while Mydas enters it dressed in full crimson Mandalorian Doomseeker armor. He nods towards the other five armored beings, and then bows in a cordial manner towards Saturi.
<<"Madame Saturi, a pleasure to meet again,>> Mydas says, and the vocalizer of his t-visored helmet deepens and transmits his voice with perfection. Mydas motions to Kira and Kite. <<"These are my brethren, Kira and Kite. Ready to talk contracts, ma'am?>>"
With everyone entering and considering the fact that she snubbed everyone as she came in, Saturi rises from her seat as Mydas addresses her. The woman looks even more pained than before as she breaks into a bow in return. It doesn't take her long to immediately return to sitting, borrowed walking stick in hand. She rocks back into the seat with a sigh, not feeling up to indulging in the food set out. "It's nice to meet all of you." Her voice is unintentionally soft. Golden eyes quickly examine everyone in the room. "It would be in my best interest to begin as soon as possible. I don't have much energy."
Kite moves towards Mydas, "Will you speak with her alone, or must we join you?"
Kira had see Kite there also with them near the dinner table. Her hand would sneak out to grab some shrimps when Mydas spoke to Saturi. She turn a bit to look at the woman and how it seem to be in pain...the walking stick in the han gave even a hint about. "nice to meet you Saturi" Kira said and looked to Mydas as she wanted to know how he would respond to Kite.
Mydas shakes his head towards Kite. "<<No Secrets In A Family.>>" Mydas says as if stating a sacred edict, and the other armored Gryphs suddenly shout. "HUAH!" in agreement.
"<<That is OUR way,>>" Mydas says, and then faces Saturi again, and an augmented reality function in his visor scans Saturi for wounds automatically. However, Mydas ignored the visor's findings, as her physical state was not really any of his business.
<<"Hope you're well soon, ma'am,>>" Mydas says, and then sits between Kite and Kira. "<<As you can see, the Cartel is regaining some of its lost strength since the departure of Lord Mak and Lady Vex. Within the next two weeks, we will be putting down a slave uprising on Ylesia, and then...truly...we will be ready to begin our beskar excavation on Mandalore.>>
Mydas leans forward a little. "<<But with you as the prime investor on the expedition...the question then stands. What else do you wish to involve yourself with in terms of the Cartel? You're one of our chief allies in the Outer Rim at this time.">>
"Investor?" The word slips through Saturi's mouth with surprise. "Aside from my expertise and access to my crew, I wasn't aware that I was fronting anything for your expedition." She tries to force a cordial tone but fails through her stiff demeanor.
The cane prods at the ground uncomfortably, making a soft but audible noise. "As far as being recognized as a principal ally, I'm humbled." Her surprise is only hidden by the extensive bandages draped across her face. "I've done my best to make my position very clear with His Magnanimous, Lord Gooza." The woman uses the table as support, leaning into it with her right side. "My only interest is mineral production. I am willing to lend my experience, advice, and on occasion, personal teams...but I've never had any aspirations of grandeur and power."
An apparently drunken, average-appearing Rodian woman of middle-age staggers into the Kyber Club and collapses near the entrance to VIP. She drunkenly speaks to herself and slurs words in her language, but shoots glances towards the meeting in the VIP.
Kira shift a little when Mydas sits down between her and Kite. She had hear other Gryph cheer in over what Mydas had just said to Kite. She nods then lean over the table to pour up a drink to Mydas. She thought she had spot something in the doir way but did not pay any interest to it as the conversation between Mydas and Saturi were more of interest.
"<<Yes...Lord Gooza does speak highly of you,>>" Mydas says. "<<Though to be fair, while I hold Lord Gooza in high regard, my own interactions with him are somewhat limited. All of this being said, I do have a single personnel request of you which I'm willing to give you a referral fee for.>>" Mydas leans back into the cushion of his seat, and as he's rapt in his current discussion of business, he completely misses the scout poking around right outside of VIP.
<<"To handle the slave uprising on Ylesia, we will need a seasoned pilot to get us to the surface. My people are known for, of course our skill in battle and cleverness in carrying out our contracts, but flyboys?">> Mydas waves his right hand dismissively. "<<At this point in our development, that is *not* Our Way. So we need you to direct us to a gutsy individual who knows how to get us onto Ylesia's surface, and even knows their way around a hotzone a little.>>"
"You'll need more than a seasoned pilot to help fly you through Ylesia's atmosphere. It's an absolute nightmare." Saturi is speaking from experience. Her gaze is cast over towards the VIP entryway, the spot where the Rodian has fallen over. "A fighter pilot? Someone with the gull to pull something like that? I'm afraid I don't really have a name off the top of my head." She takes a deep breath, her gaze flicking between everyone at the table. To her, the drunken middle-ager isn't worth the attention. "What I can do..." A pause for another breath. "...is ask around. Just because I don't know anyone that fits the bill off hand, doesn't mean a friend of a friend doesn't."
Kite looks over at Saturi concerned, and as he does, the scout realizes she is spotted and her physical posture stiffens.
<<"By all means, ask around,>>" Mydas says, and then his attnetion is focused on the increasingly hostile Rodian woman at the entrance to the VIP. He suddenly rises and points at her.
<<"Get that damned sloppy spy out of here and blow her brains out,>> Mydas says with a snarl in his tone, and the five Cartel enforcers standing watch at the VIP entrance charge the Rodian woman and force her out of the club. Mydas faces Saturi. "<<Seems like that's our cue to conclude the meeting, Madame Saturi. We've been having more and more issues with one particularly persistent and nasty enemy of the Cartel lately. Do you need an escort out?>>"
"I have a speeder waiting for me in the alley." Saturi responds, implying that she won't necessarily need an escort back to her ship. The woman rises from her chair, keeping her eyes on enforcers as the leave the club. She intentionally avoids eye contact with Mydas, not approving of the morbid response to the drunken woman. "I'll use this if I need to fend for myself." It's a joke as she raises the cane for viewing." The Pantoran laughs. "If I find someone for you, I'll be certain to get a hold of you. No promises though."
