Discussions and constructions
Location: STA Harbinger
Participants: Merulia, Yusanis, Raskta, Tamsin Cas
Sitting legs crossed in front of a holocron, stun saber in front of him, as he listens and takes in the knowledge. The young Echani Sith has a lot of things in spades but patience is not a virtue he possesses! "Frak get on with it! I need to get a real saber instead of this crappy stun saber!" Yusanis growls looking like he's about to throw the Holocron against a wall
The sith worked so often within the archive, that they did not, as a rule, pay much mind to what was going on around them. More often than not the droning of the AI that powered the holocrons became something like background noise that was part and parcel of the business of doing the work. Their head rose, though, at the sound of anger from the acolyte sitting on the ground. The modulated voice was flat, without tone or inflection, "Tenebrous is unlikely to reveal more of his secrets because you're angry with him."
Yusanis seethes for a moment or two as he continues to listen to Tenebrous and his lesson looking up he bows his head. "My apologies, I'm not overly patient and truly would prefer to be of more use upon the battle...." And his eyes go wide with dawning recognition. "Oh frak! That's how it....oh that makes....so much sense!"
"I don't require any apologies." The sith was clearly not at all put out by the show of temper, and they interspersed their own words between the wisdom being offered by the echo of the Bith Sith Lord whose echo was currently joining them in the archive. "Patience is not only a virtue of the jedi. Anger, rage, are powerful emotions, but untempered they will burn your own hand as easily as that of your enemy." As enlightenment came, their own words paused for a beat, "A new revelation?"
Yusanis says, "That made more sense after we got past what he'd already taught me! Yes yes I think I'm capable of building my saber now!" He gets up and places the Holocron back on the shelf brushing his silvery white hair from his face. "I'm Yusanis by the way. I'm the administrator of Kessel.""
"I imagine he will be interested to see the product of his teaching once you've completed it." While it was true that the holocrons were not, in an real way, the actual dark force user who had created them, the Ai was such that they did appear to exhibit some aspect of who they had once been. And it was, in its way, something like engaging with the force user themselves, "Yes, I know who you are." The sith rose themselves, reaching up to remove the helm, breaking the seal on the system there. The face thus revealed was likely a familiar one, if one spent much time on the Smugglers Moon, or had cause to know the kindly Firrerreo doctor who spent more than a good amount of time working there. "Most, here, simply call me Councilor. I prefer to separate who I am away from here and who I am when I am here. That is part of my own job within the Sith."
Yusanis nods his head and pantomimes zipping his lips and locking them. "I have yet to be given a code name, or title Councilor, though I do look forward to the day I earn mine. You do look familiar most of my time when not doing other business is spent well on Nar Shadda." He chuckles. "Now all that's left is for me to head out to build the saber eventually." Yus says chuckling. "I take it you've been studying the force longer than I?"
"So you've collected the crystal you will use as well as all of the parts for it? That is well." Tamsin nodded to herself, as she set down the helmet, Dilly moving over to ensure that the datareels she had been working on were properly stored away, "That will come, in time. As for myself, I would say...nearly for as long as you've been alive." Tamsin did look rather well preserved, for whatever age she was, but she was clearly quite a bit older than the echani, "I was first brought under the tutelage of the dark by Malik Ren. I spent many years as a Knight, before I became a part of the Sith Empire. In addition to my work on Nar Shaddaa and with other Sith interests, I work with Darth Kuolo in his Reliquary project." Which might explain how she had been able to translate that ancient Proto-Sith they had uncovered on Dathomir.
Yusanis sighs at that. "In time in time, I hear that alot." He says with a laugh leaning against something as he looks Tamsin over. "As long as I've been alive? There's no way, you don't look old enough to have been studying the dark side for that long!"
"There is always time. A saber is a useful tool, but it is only as good as the hand and the mind that is wielding it. And there are other skills, subtle and less so, that are just as useful, if not moreso, to a Sith." Tamsin tipped her head at the echani's estimation of her age, "That is simply a trick of physiology and access to good medical care." It did pay to be your own doctor, in that regard. "I was barely 28 when Malik found me and began my formal training. I am nearly forty-six now. You are...in your early twenties? So, yes, very nearly."
Yusanis blinks. "No you're not, stop yankin me." He says with a laugh. "Twenty three actually, I'm twenty three years old. And if you're age is in the forties well you look...amazing." He chuckles glancing around. "The tool helps though, and besides I'm an excellent swordsman."
"I am not in the habit of lying, unless it's strictly necessary. But than you for the compliment." Tamsin's tone did not change, at the compliment, but then, anyone who spent much time with the doctor knew her to be more Muunish in her ways than anything. And the Muun, being, of a species, as close as one could come to living, sentient computers, were not a people given to strong emotion.
Yusanis smiles and nods his head. "You're welcome for the compliment, I was merely speaking true." He smiles. Yus stands speaking with Tamsin after having used and returning the Sith Holocron of Darth Tenebrous. "Where do you recommend building a saber?
Raskta Walks out of a private room having been inside for a while with a holocron.. She returns the Holoccron to it's place as she walks out. She spots her brother and lifts an eyebrow giving a small nod towards Tamsin.
Tamsin, who, for a wonder, was actually not wearing her helmet, that was on the table beside her, was still robed, stood patiently, as Dilly bustling around her, doing what he did best, and that was manage the archive and its holdings. She lanced over as Raskta came out of one of the study rooms, nodding politely, before she looked back to Yusanis, "The saber forge is on Coruscant at the Temple. There is a smaller room off of the council chambers on this ship, but it is not attuned to the force."
Merulia arrives, a sight that had been absent for a time of late. After the journey to Dathomir the Sephi Nightsister had remained behind to train and meditate for a time, connecting with the Magicks of Dathomir and the 'sorcery' her people were famous for. Her hair was tied back and tight rather than its intricate braids interwoven with the rest of her hair down and in her hands was a cloth containing several components.
Practice it seemed, was the point of the day, but as her eyes swept over the others there the Nightsister offered a bow of her head in greeting before she found a table for herself.
Yusanis nods. "Got it so use the one on....Coruscant." He says as Meru enters his smile broadens. "Hey Meru, you look very nice...I mean you look good...yea..." He blushes a bit turning to Raka. "Hey Raka how are you sister mine?"
Raskta Looks over at her brother and smirks before " better than you " She say with a low chuckle as she then moves closer to Tamsin and bows " Where can I find a teacher for meditation.. the holocrons on construction speak that it's a vital skill but not how to do it " she says softly . She loooks " I checked with the driod she said they don't have a holocron for that.. do you know where I could learn the skill? "
"Building a lightsaber," Tamsin offered, "Is something done, almost, entirely with the mind, and with your grasp of and ability to manipulate the force. Even the finest tools, after a point, will only damage the crystal. It is why they cannot be manufactured, and why it is so imperative that you take to heart the lessons your teachers and the holocrons offer you. In the final moments of construction, you will not touch the saber at all. And if you have not chosen the right components for your lightsaber, it will never function well for you." As Raskta posed her question, Tamsin looked her way. On the way,s he noted Merulia's arrival, "Nightsister." As for the question, "There are acolytes at the temple who can give you the proper instruction. Or you can petition one of the sith who are more skilled in the art to sit with you. There are any number of techniques. Some meditate in martial pursuits, others in silence."
A lift of her hand as she settles down, Merulia gestures with her hand as the bundle unravelled and several pieces of what appeared to be some shining metal. A little blink at the greeting from Yusanis earns a little lift of her hand in a smile, but Raskta's words earn a shrug of her bared shoulders. "Perhaps there is some knowledge you must find and seek yourself without assistance?" she offers lightly before letting her gaze turn back to the pieces of the weapon under construction, begining to float and twist as she exhaled a breath.
Yusanis nods his head thoughtfully. "Yes I figured it wasn't all tools or even mostly. I thank you for the education and tutelage. I think I have what I need." He then smiles to Raka. "Better than me? What makes you think that?" He asks with a chuckle before looking back to Merulia. "You have a point, some pursuits are best left to thr self. So how are you Meru, looking to craft your saber as well?"
Raskta Bows and nods her head " Thank you " She says before she grabs her things clearly going to do just that her eye's almost glow she's one of those point and fire type people after all so she wants to get a move on right away
Tamsin's gaze returned to Yusanis, but she offered only a nod, rather than any other comment, before she reclaimed her helmet, clipping it to her belt, "I will have to try to track her down later." She looked towards Merulia, then, "Something I have meant to mention. Away from this ship, or the sith fleet operations, if you see me on some other world, I am not to be associated with the Sith." It might explain why she almost always wore helm and robes. Even on the ship.
The pieces of metal slowly, very slowly, begin to glow and bend gently, effort shown on the Sephi's face who was clearly...doing something. "I am..." she offers quietly, even as the metal begins to twist and reshape. "This steel, it is...special. A tribute to sisters that came before. I am attempting to...make it myself."
Not the metal it seems, but the parts themselves? They appear to be taking shape under the influence of telekinesis.
A nod however does come from Merulia at Tamsin's words. "As far as most of the Galaxy is concerned, I am simply a healer and a pilgrim."
Not a lie, but certainly leaving things out.
Yusanis nods his head. "I thank you so much." He gives a bow. "You've been of great help, don't worry about my sister she'll focus on learning her meditation and construction of a saber. I'll let her know that your not you outside pf here." He smiles moving to where Meru sits he watches. "Touching sentiment Meru, and as for me the Galaxy knows merely that I am high born exhani and a freighter captain."
Tamsin nodded, in answer to Yusanis' offer, "I would appreciate that." As he moved away, and she heard Merulia's comment, she tipped her head, "In its way, not so dissimilar to how I crafted my saber as a Knight of Ren." The doctor had not always been a sith, after all. "Though the focus there was on the crystal itself, first, melted down and reformed along with my own blood." Not the say the sith made their own crystals, mostly, but then, that was a different dark side group entirely. "I will leave you two to your studies. I am due to another meeting."
Slowly the weapon pieces continue to twist and take form. Amidst the bundle of pieces there was something rather strange: physical paper scrolls still wrapped and tied with ribbon...yet she wasn't reading them. Why would she, when she already had? The Nightsister lifts her hands, red-hot glowing metal starting to take the shape of the weapon's hilt.
Yusanis sits beside Meru and puts an arm around behind her close enough to show the attraction but without touching and distracting her. Smiling watching the pieces take shape, he too had done something similar not long ago but now his pieces needed to be assembled and for that he needed to go to Coruscant.
Slowly her pieces are taking shape, soft motions of her hands follow while the elegant curves and lines of the weapon coming to her own shape. Each piece was intended to be her own, to fit her own hand. A weapon certainly, but it was treated with the care of a piece of artwork offered in tribute to the Sisters that came before her.
Her motions kept his attention so alike and yet so unlike his own from not so long ago. Of course Echani ways were different from those of the Night Sisters, but this tradition of sorts seemed similar. He too had carefully crafted the pieces to fit his hand, his style perfectly, not just in honor of his ancestors bit because to the Echani the blade, the weapon should be an extension of oneself, should be as if a part of your own body. Yusanis smiles fondly at Meru as he continues to watch her graceful and elegant movements.
"You know," she speaks after a moment as the shape she was working on seems finished and she lets it float there to cool. "Your identity is not as secret as you might think. I've heard others speak of you as 'The Sith'."
A pause, the Nightsister turns her gaze to him properly.
"I have learned the importance of listening from a young age after all."
