Catch The Light: Part Three

The mystery beneath the small island on the outskirts of Ahch-to had hit a wall...quite literally. The Jedi had got as far as an old room that was obviously being built for something, but had been left in a half completed state. Being underground and having all that sea water that has come in lead the Jedi to believe that the cave in probably came at the hasty need to leave during construction and it just never was returned to.

That had lead to surveys of the surrounding underwater layout to be done and there was some interesting things to be looked over and plans to be made. Thankfully some of the order members know how to swim and do things underwater...because it was looking like it might be needed in the future.

Vega's downloaded all the files and maps to upload into the conference center so that others can see where problem spots are. And there's more than a few of them.

Rey is standing with a data reader in her hands, Dio is rolling around at her feet and looking up at the others in the conference room with them. "I would say the encouraging thing about all of this is that it reinforces the idea that there was more to Ahcho-to than meets the eye. We know there is a strong Vergence in the core of the world... we can feel that with meditation."

She taps a button on the reader and sets it down on the table in front of her. "All we have to do is find a way ... deeper ... to some location that might yield results for what we're after."

The ultimate goal being a new source of saber crystals.

"To be honest though. Just exploring the history of this planet is fascinating all in and of itself..." She softly says.

Jax was sitting on the front row cause well there wasn't enough of them to hide in the back. He sits there looking relaxed as Vega's maps cycle through the holoviewer. Jax's trouble making R2 unit was sitting next to him complaining about different issues with the map. Jax speaks up then, "Exine. It's fine. They are precise enough for us unpercise organics." He nods, "Learning about the planet is good. Even if we don't find crystals there. I'm sure we're studying history and data that will be of use to us and our future generations. Could look on Typhon next?"

Vega has the map of the sea floor pulled up on her datapad and then she has RND-1 project it onto the screen. The area from the chamber to a bit to the east has been mapped out, "We've been learning a lot about the surrounding area and I think that whoever started the work down there were onto something, Master Skywalker." the ebony clad padawan states in her usually soft tone. "So if you look here there is the man made structure beneath this small island." she points out to Rey and Jax. "And then here," she draws their attention to another mass about four hundred feet from where the tunnel was being made, "I think they were trying to build some sort of underwater tunnel or walkway through to whatever is in this mass." she points to it. "We might need to take a dive to see what they might have been up to." she smiles at that.

Rey has her hands down on the edge of the table, her eyes on the display being shown. Dio continues to roll around at her feet, occassionally bumping in to oen of her boots. "R-Rey..." He quietly says.

"Well. It's perilous. With cave-ins, and so many tunnels submerged... we definitely need to get more experienced with using the sub-suits."

Dio rolls up a chair and ducks under its arm.

"R-Rey." He says to her again. "I can go."

Rey pauses and looks over at the cone headed droid. "What?" She asks.

Dio looks from her to the others. "It is scouting, I am a scout droid. It... it's my job."

Rey glances to the others, then back to him. "It's dangerous." She says to the normally very timid droid.

"I am working on my-my, bravery." He replies, which garners a little grin from Rey.

"I'm sure you are. Thats very commendable of you too."

Jax considers for a moment, "Why would they want to build the tunnels? i mean you can't mine in the ocean and wouldn't it be easier to fly?" Jax ask. THen he considers for a moment lookig at Dio. "Rey, he's got a point. He is a scout droid. Though I think he's mean for land scouting? Could we have him scout out some locations to see if he learns something we don't know."

Ax is catching up, looking at the layouts. "My droid could take some pointers from yours," he says to Rey. "As for scouting, think we could secure a synth-rope tether to Dio? Just in case we need to pull him out. Pretty sure the little guy can get into places we could only dream of."

Vega gives a smile to Dio when he offers to go, "We could always get some of little submersible for you to go down in, if that might be better?" she offers. "I'm not too bad at diving, but I'm also not sure what kind of deep dwelling sea creatures we might have down there." she frowns at that. Vega's grey gaze goes to Jax and there's a bit of a hmm, "I'm guessing that they didn't want to do too much drilling or something or other. I mean, the domed spot there is completely underwater where this little island is above the water. Might be building a tunnel to get to it would be the most efficient and if there are crystals there it would be something that would need to be kept secret for the most part." she admits. "I've not seen any signs that the other cave has been touched by machines, so it might not even have an entrance. Though we can definitely find that out with little trouble." she nods to this.

"We just need to figure out what the best way to approach it is." she adds.

Rey straightens up again, crossing her arms over her stomach. She looks to Jax and shows a quick smile. "The Order dates back thousands of years on this planet... It's technically a debate which came first, this or Tython. Tython sure is in better condition, but is much more well known still today. Making ourselves a common presence there, may make us a bigger target to unwanted types..."

Dio looks between Ax and Vega, then opens little round compartments on the sides of his main wheel. Little high powered fans start to spin at high velocity. "I can go under water." The droid says in that metallic dry tone of voice. "But would need... a-a rope to get out of a pit." He pauses then and looks to Rey. "I think this is a good idea." The droid adds then.

Rey smiles at him, then looks to the others. "He woke me up a few nights ago. Just to say that he wanted to help us more. He said he wants to be the first Jedi droid." She grins lightly before she exhales and nods to Vega.

"You've done good here. I think we're getting closer to finding what we want. Or at least... new questions..."

Ax pulls a pair of synthrope dispensers from a pouch on his 'adventure gear pack'. "It's only 200 meters worth. Anyone else got more?" he asks.

Ax looks to the droid, wrinkling his nose, "I have no idea where to attach it to the droid though." He looks to Rey. "Maybe you know better. My wife would know, but not I."

Exine goes to argue and Jax shakes his head, "Sorry Exine, you crave too much adventure and have too many vices. You won't let go." The R2 raspberries at Jax.

Jax considers for a moment, "Dio isn't very heavy one us can carry him down at low tide even." He listens to Vega, "I'll trust your word. I am not a good geologist."

"Well we won't have to tie you to anything until we go back." Vega smiles to Dio. Poor little guy! There's a dip of her head to Rey, "Thank you, Master Skywalker. I have a feeling that whatever is down there it's got to be a good thing...or they wouldn't have started going through so much trouble." she admits. Then there is a look to Jax and Ax as she smiles, "I'm not one either, I'm just really wishing that it has what we need inside of it." she sighs softly.

Rey smiles to Jax's droid, before she looks back to Dio. "Well. You've done it now. You've talked yourself in to a personal adventure."

Dio rolls backward a few inches, then forward again. "I'm re-ready." He says.

She looks over to Ax and his rope, then raises her left hand up a moment to chew on the end of her thumb lightly while she thinks. After a few seconds she lowers it down to her chin, "Chewie and I have talked about fashioning little arms on him, something that would let him help bring us tools aboard the Falcon... this could be an additional reason to do that. If Babu were around... still." The ever elusive Babu Frik. "Would Kadi know about that kind of addition for a droid like him?" She asks of Ax next.

"Do we need to try to get access to a Mon Cal transport?" Jax asks they were looking around, "That could give us an underwater plateform to launch from the suits that Yuun was practicing with?" Jax asks, "I dunno? But yeah It sounds like you're got yourself an adventure Dio. Maybe get Zan's droid to help? It flies."

Ax nods to Rey. "If she didn't, I guarantee she could figure it out. While her specialization is starships, as that pays the bills more, her passion has always been droids. She has an army of the things at her disposal, many of them she rebuilt from scraps. She's a lot smarter than I am, just don't tell her I admitted that," he says with a grin.

"I do believe that I've seen a Mon Cal Deepwater-class for sale recently, but it might be too large to actually get us close enough to where we need to go, and likely kick up so much silt that it would destroy visibility. But, if you think it would help, I can foot the bill for it, if this operation pans out, it would be a nice investment for the Jedi at least. Besides, I've never actually flown a ship under water."

Vega gives a smile and a nod to everyone who is throwing out ideas, this was for everyone in the order, so bouncing ideas was a group thing to do. "I'm excited to get back to the island now to see what is under the sea." she grins. "We have a plan and we can get others in as we go, we'll probably need everyone for this as it is." she nods to them. "I'll look up to see if there is anything we can do to help with pressures and other troubles we might run into." she tells the gathered. "That means I should get to work on seeing about shoring up repairs and other check list items." she smiles and dips her head to the others before she starts to head out of the conference area.

Rey lowers her arm back across her stomach as she smiles toward Ax, nodding once. "We'll go see her then." She says. "Her work on Luke's X-wing was phenominal after all."

Rey looks to Dio who quickly looks up at her. "Ready to get some arms?" She asks the droid who does a quick spin on the chair he's standing on.

"Ye-yes!" The droid says before rolling to the edge of the chair and down to the floor again with a thud.

Rey smirks before looking to Jax. "Didn't Aryn have access to an underwater capable ship? Mm, either way... yes, we can get one, we should. It'd make a huge difference, I believe."

As Vega starts to leave, Rey steps toward her satchel and jacket draped over another seat. She raises them up to sling over arm and shoulder. "Ahch-to will reveal more of its secrets to us one way or another." She tells them all with a smile.

"Exine." Jax says to the R2 unit. That projects a holographic imagine of Ax saying Kadi was smarter. "Thanks, Ax. I didn't know what to get your wife for her birth day. This should get me out of trouble for last year." He says teasing his friend. Then he turns back to Vega, "May the Force be with you."

Then he turns back to Rey, "I'm not sure what ship Aryn has at her disposal beyond the Rainmaker. Though if she does and is willing to come on the mission. Just as long as we don't get the bright idea to turn the Falcon into a submersible. I think Chewie wouldn't be happy about hat."

Ax nods, "Sounds like we've got a plan, at least. I do think we should do some runs in a less treacherous location than underwater caverns to test these sub-suits out. I've spent a lot of time in pressurized suits, but they were built for vacuum, not the pressures one might face underwater."

Ax looks to Rey. "I don't mind donating the funds for the order to purchase one. Pretty sure I saw a Deepwater for sale on Dac last time I ran some supplies there. If it would be beneficial...."

Ax turns his attention to Jax, quirking his eyebrows. "Laugh it up, chucklehead. Just remember that payback is hell." He chuckles a bit, and just shakes his head."
