Catch The Light: Part Five

The Jedi had survived their deep sea adventure on Ahch-To and so did Dio!

The information and scans from Dio had been completed and it was time to go over the findings. Which meant that everyone that wanted to come down and hear the latest information was invited to do so at the Lighthouse. There are snacks to lure unsuspecting Jedi in, because food could be used to make friends and make people sit through meetings that were not labelled meetings! Vega's settled off to the side with her purple and white bb-unit warbling about something that has her looking at it like they've just told her they didn't want to be friends anymore, "I'm sure he'll be fine, Round One." she murmrus as she waits for folks to file in and get settled.

Ah, snacks. If snacks are meant to lure unsuspecting Jedi in, then Nora Frayus has been caught. Hook, line, snack, sinker. As usual, she's under-dressed for the occasion. She looks as if she's dressed for a beach party because, well, that's precisely what she thought this was. Thankfully, she'd left a white dress to pull over her lime green one-piece, but that floppy white hat and those cherry red sunglasses still remain. She has a little plate and is picking various snacks up with the tips of her fingers. Only the pristine sort of snacks that don't make a mess. Little veggies sans dip, small pastries and, oh, okay, a chocolate.

The warbling BB-Unit is given a once over from the woman from behind her cherry red sunglasses, but she doesn't say anything to it. Instead, she finds a little spot off to the side, takes a seat, and crosses her legs. Oh, and she eats the snacks. If she's going to be tricked into a meeting, she's at least going to eat the snacks.

She chews on a particularly crunchy vegetable from behind her hand, attention shifting to the others that have begun to file in.

"Helloooo!" she'll chime out, friendly-like, to new arrivals.

Yuun has helped on some of the expedition a few times, but he's hear today wanting to find out what was found. The dark skinned jedi had been keeping tabs on Ewan to make sure his Padawan was doing well, as well as doing a bit of research with the Jedi Texts. Though when snacks are involved, Yuun is hard pressed not to show up, so he's found his way to the meeting area. He sees Nora and waves to her, "Hello." he says to one of the newer faces and offers her a bow of his head in greeting.

He looks around and sees Vega with her droid and he smiles, "Hello Vega." he says to her offering her a bow of his head as well. He doesn't see the others but hopes more will be coming.

As things were at the Lighthouse instead of on Ach-to, Ax was walking his guard droid, trying to socialize the little guy so he didn't pop shots off at random strangers. What better place to bring a murder-droid than to a Jedi camp. Tagging along with him was his BB-unit, Buster. "Stay close Donk, and guns powered down." The Droideka just buzzes an acknowledgement and rolls along beside Ax. Buster beeps, bitching more about Ax's wrecklessness, usually it involved flying, but this time it was about dragging a droideka along.

As Ax draws near, he gestures for D0NK to park in the corner. "Ooh, snacks." Ax says, sidetracked by such things.

Rey had been aware of the time to be back to the lighthouse. She'd gone in to the woods to the east to meditate at some quiet places she'd found. She had taken Dio with her, as he was quite eager to always be at her heels.

Now the two of them are returning, and unlike when they'd left, one of them is no longer clean...

"S-sorry, R-Rey." The droid says, repeating it every few seconds, as they make their way back to the lighthouse. Beyond just Dio's words, the sounds of Rey's squishy wet boots is heard as her feet impact against the stone masonry that leads up to the lighthouse entrance.

"It's fine!" Rey tries to assure the droid, as she steps inside the entrance, absolutely covered head to toe in mud. She's barely even recognizable as she steps inside the clean clean lighthouse... little flecks of mud on the white floors behind her wet boots as she moves.

Once inside, She sets her quarterstaff against the wall, then sets her bag down beside it, both equally caked in mud, then the young woman just turns and starts to walk toward the kitchen area, saying nothing to anyone.

"Rey. R-Rey. I'm sorry." Dio repeats as he keeps right on her muddy heels.

Vega gives a dip of her head in greeting as people start to get settled and she rises with her datapad in hand, "Thank you all for coming." she tells everyone as she greets those that have arrived. But Ax brought a Droideka and she's looking at it intently, "Donk...that's a great name for a droideka." she chuckles to that. "I bet that was expensive." she adds with a bit of a wistful look. She could just ride one of those into fights.

Ah well!

She does give a bit of an amused look when Rey's squishy boots can be heard and there's a bow of her head to her, "Master Skywalker." she smiles to that. "Dio, you're the hero of the day." she tells the little droid. She gives a smile, "We've gotten the scans back from the underwater exploration." she states as she brings the hologram of the mapping up. "We couldn't have gotten these without Dio, so everyone thank the little guy." she smiles.

Nora Frayus shifts lightly in her seat and wiggles her fingers in Yuun's direction when he greets her. Others receive a nod that can be considered friendly enough. The young woman sits upright. Shoulders back, chin up, posh and proper. When Rey arrives, covered in mud, Nora follows her motion and the apologizing Dio behind her with an amused smile on her face. When prompted to thank Dio, Nora gives a couple glances around and then bravely begins to clap her hands.

Always a risky bet, being the first person in a room to clap. Hopefully this doesn't end up awkwardly for here.

"Well done, Sir Dio," she adds helpfully.

Jax had missed the memo about there being food... and he'd been late coming back from somewhere. So the jedi arrives from kitchen entrance. He comes face to face with Rey. He raises a finger as if to say something but decides not to. Then reaching down to the pouches of the belt and opens a pouch then produces a pack of wet wipes. Ask Ax, parents of small children carries these things. He holds the small pouch out to Rey. Then looks around at those gathered, "I'm sorry I'm late. I feel like I've missed something very important. It's not every day we have a Droideka in our mist. Especially one not firing at us."

"Thanks, Dio," Ax says with a grin, trying his hardest not to chuckle at the mud-covered Rey. "So, these scans? We figure out what kind of critters we're going to be facing down there?" he asks, having to turn away from Rey to keep from laughing at the poor girl.

Ax looks to Jax instead, chuckling. "Trying to socialize him so he's not shooting at strangers. Figured if he went nuts here, everyone's pretty capable of protecting themselves." Ax lowers his voice, "Kadi lowered his power output for the blasters to be little more than a sting," he says in a near whisper. "Gotta make sure he's not going to blow up all the people coming into the wife's shop when I can't be around to protect her."

Having found a comfortable place to sit, Yuun watches as the others come inside. He take a deep breath and slowly lets it out. He see the wave from Nora, and he blinks at Rey who comes in with mud on her, "You ok?" he asks. But then he's looking at Donk as the droideka comes in with Ax. "Whoa!" he says as he looks at the droid, having read about them and seen some old holo-docuseries about the clone wars. "I bet it was expensive." he chuckles. "Hey Jax." says as he looks to his old friend. "Umm..we may need another towel for Rey." he says as he starts to stand up.

Rey is indeed gathering up a towel for herself in the kitchen area. She wets it under the faucet and then begins to wipe her face clean. She's doing this when Jax is suddenly there. She lowers the towel, eyes the wipes, and then gives him a faint smirk as the sun shines in through the windows across her still dirty face. "Thanks." She says quietly before her eyes go to Yuun. "I'm fine... Just..."

Dio is looking from Rey, to Vega, to Nora clapping for him. The droid starts to twirl happily on his one big wheel.

"Oh yes. Thank you. My hero." Rey dryly says to him before she tosses the hand towel down on to the droid's cone head, it splats on top of him. "Ah! I can't, s-see!" He announces then as his wheeling motions take him blindly around the floor now.

Rey picks up a bigger towel and takes it over to a chair to drape it across it before she settles down upon its edge. "How did the results come out?" She asks, using some of these wet wipes now on her eyelashes and around her nose.

"Did we find out what caused that .. eruption, within the cavern?"

Vega pulls up a map of the inside of the cave, it's just the outlying marks given there wasn't a picture taken of the place. "The cavern and the main little island seem to have been where someone was in the process of building. My guess is that if we sent divers in or managed to finish the construction that we'd be able to access the cavern proper without the use of the Charbydis or trying to dive down there." she tells the gathered.

"On the subject of what made the eruption," she starts as she zooms the map in, "The collapse here in the tunnel looks to be where something came in. I think that same something is stuck in the cavern now and has been trying to get out." she tells the group. "Which means there's a large something or other that's been stuck for we don't know how long and we have to try to evict it before we can confirm if there are crystals." she announces.

"Easy right?" she looks around.

Nora Frayus is the only one who claps. These things happen sometimes. Those claps get quieter and quieter as she realizes that nobody else is joining in and, after a moment or two longer, they slow to a hault. She's unshaken, though. Not a hint of embarrassment on her face and, in fact, there's a soft little laugh at the droid's antics. The gleeful twirling followed by the rag planting on its face. The poor little thing whirrrs around and, when it gets near enough to Nora, the young woman will pluck that towel from the droid's ocular sensors and give him a delicate pat on the head.

"There there," she says softly, below the volume of the words being spoken about caverns and eruptions. She lays the dirty towel over a less obtrusive part of the droid. And then, Nora turns back to face the conversation. Her fingers lace together and come to rest atop her lap, cold blue eyes peering out towards those that speak and offer information.

After Vega's debriefing, Nora reaches up to delicately tuck a curl of pink hair behind her ear and leans back into her chair. Her foot swings back and forth as she econsiders the projection on display.

"Ah yes. Only good things have come from releasing large creatures that have been trapped or otherwise dormant for an unknown period of time. Every storybook I have read since I was a child all but confirms this. We should just... swim on down there and ask it kindly to move," she says, amused.

When Vega chimes in with 'Easy, right?' Nora just gives a genuine, warm little laugh and shakes her head.

"Oh dear," she adds.

Seeing that Rey is cleaning herself up, Yuun turns and looks to Dio, "I'm sorry my friend, I didn't thank you." he smiles. "Thank you Dio for the help you've provided." he says bowing his head to Dio.

Upon thanking Dio, Yuun looks to Vega as the holo pulls up the map. He goes quiet as she begins to speak. His eyes taking in what she is speaking about and some of this he does remember but he wasn't able to accompany the others further down into the caverns so this is new to him. His eyes widen just slightly when the eruption is mentioned and he looks to Vega to brief them.

"Oh yeah that sounds really fun." he chuckles a little bit. "Something large, that has been trapped where we need to go for a long time. Piece of cake." he smirks a little and shakes his head, "When Ahsoka was hear I did learn a few things from her, the ability to control, communicate with beasts, maybe we can lure whatever it is out and help it get to the open sea and not fight it?" he asks.

Jax smiles to Rey, "Anytime." He moves to the food table snatching up a few bites. "That Kadi is a very smart and wise woman." Jax plops a bite into his amouth. Then he moves to sit down in a chair not next to Rey. "Hey Yuun." There's a salute to both Vega and Nora. "Do we have any idea how recent that damage was? I mean there are long lived species but that tunnel was pretty old right?"

"Guess we need to figure out a way to make an opening big enough for it to swim out of," Ax says. "Might be a good idea to figure out what exactly it is, so we know we're not unleashing a monster that's going to eat everyone who comes in close."

Ax looks to Yuun, "Yeah, I've meddled with that a bit myself, but not sure I could hack it under water. Might be worth investigating as an option though."

Dio instantly looks up at Nora when she removes the hand towel from his head. He backs up in surprise when he sees who it is, in so far as to say a person he doesn't know very well. When she reaches down to touch his head, he nearly falls back on his old, not very brave, ways, but he holds steady. "Th-thanks." The droid says up to the new woman.

With the towel on his head, he rolls quickly toward where Rey's mud caked, and wet booted feet are, his little tiny lightsaber flopping around beside his wheel on its hook.

"Surely whatever is contained in there is a sea creature native to the world, rather than a 'monster'. But, yes, if we free it, we should definitely be wary of being close to it. It very likely would be hungry... I'd imagine. We don't want to be on its list of edibles..."

Rey is about to say something else when she looks over at the Droideka. She's seen those things before, they're... unsettling. Obviously she knows it's an 'Ax thing', so she doesn't comment on it.

"Yuun. I need you to get Vega familiar with those diving suits we acquired. We didn't have them with us on this previous mission. We need to change that. Especially if we're doing anything more indepth in the oceans than what we did last time... I lost my rebreather after that burst of, whatever it was..."

Vega steps back a bit and unzooms the map, letting everyone look over it. She listens to what others say and there is a soft nod to what Ax says, "Ahch-To is basically undiscovered territory for us and for most of the universe, so I'd like to start documenting the flora and fauna that we find to start compiling for future generations of Jedi so they know what is there." she smiles to that.

"As for the creature in the cavern, I think allowing it out would probably be the best. I am certain there are bigger things out there in the waters. We're just a part of the proverbial food chain now if it does want to eat us." she chuckles. She then gives a dip of her head to Rey, "Thank you, I think getting a few people acquainted with the suits would be helpful." she agrees.

"For now, that's all the information that I have compiled for this. I'm guessing that our sea creature friend was smaller when they managed to get in and they've grown too big to get out...so I'm guessing they're mainly hungry and wanting out." she tells the group.

"If anyone wants to view the files on these I've uploaded everything so that it can be looked over." she smiles. "Thank you all for listening to me babble for a few moments and I hope that all of our work will lead to being able to provide the Order with what they need." she admits.

Nora is quiet and thoughtful as Vega speaks. Her thighs uncross and then recross, and her ice blue gaze sweeps across the room. She takes turns looking at everyone -- Yuun, Ax, Rey, Vega, and Jax. A relative newcomer, she seems hesitant to speak up much more than she already has. Her mouth does drop open for a moment or two after Vega speaks, but Lady Frayus opts to simply close it rather than interject further. Her eyes do turn towards that undersea cavern as it twists lazily in the holo-projection, providing a variety of different angles to the entrance.

"Hmmmh," she says softly to herself, and then rises to her feet.

A curtsy is given to Vega first, and the woman is addressed.

"You did not babble at all, Ms. Vega. You have my sincerest gratitude for the briefing. It was most informative," she says.

To the others now, Nora gives a soft bow in the general direction of the crowd. Less formal than the ladylike curtsy she'd given Vega, but certainly still polite. "I know I am a new member to your Order, but you have my word that I will do everything in my power to see this mission completed. And you all my... gratitude as well. For welcoming me," she says.

A pause.

"Now," Nora says, and slips her cherry red sunglasses back on. She adjusts the beachy hat atop her head and makes her exit from the lighthouse.

"I put on this bathing suit and the Silver Sea does look so attractive this time of day," she says, and takes her leave.

Jax takes another bite of his food chews and swallows. "This really only solves one half of our problem. The other is we have to make a hole big enough for the creature to exit. Underwater. That could be intresting problem to be solved in and of itself." Jax then nods to Vega, "Thank you for compliling the data." Then Nora makes her announcement and Jax shrugs. "Enjoy your day." As he could not fault that the ocean was rather inviting.

"Can I burn a copy of those? Wife's got an information analysis droid that can work wonders with disecting such things," Ax says. "Might be a good idea to look at medical as well, whatever that creature is, it would be nice to have the ability to tranq it if necessary. That's extremely outside my wheelhouse, and I don't know any fish doctors."

Ax looks towards Jax. "Yeah, that means a construction survey. We gotta open a hole, but not compromise the integrity of the existing structure to the point where it caves further. Any of the Jedi accomplished engineers?"

Yuun nods to Nora with a smile, "They do tend to eat the small running things first." he implies about the creature. He looks to Ax as he speaks to him directly, "I've been putting quite a bit of time towards the skill figuring I may find something I like that could be a friend." he chuckles. "Ever since seeing the dragon Ahsoka introduced us to, I've been working on it. So it should help us keep from fighting." he says.

As Rey speaks up, he turns to her, "Yeah, I've been a bit side tracked and apologies to everyone on that front. The suits are in working order, I've checked on them a few days ago, all the air supplies are ready, fins, and everything. We have four full suits if anyone has any lines on others let me know and I can try to purchase more." he says. "I can show everyone how they work."

Yuun quirks a brow up at Vega, "Padawan Vega, you did great, you didn't babble at all. This was a good and insightful debriefing." he tells her. Bowing his head to her, "I will take a look at the files again, there is still an area I wanted to check out on Ahch-To as well, but this should be done first before doing the other. Thank you for your time and effort on this." he says to Vega.

Looking to Nora and waves as she heads out. He turns and looks to the others, "I have some new combat training to start, so you all will be getting something sent to you and Ax thanks for your insight on what I was going to teach previously. I can't speak more about it but be ready soon." he states.

Looking to Jax, "I agree, maybe with more research we can maybe find where it is and maybe use a large underwater ship to move it from the cave, refill the whole and let the creature loose elsewhere in the water?" he offers.

Rey continues to dab at her face with the wet wipe she holds in her right hand. She listens to everyone, and watches Nora start to make her exit. "Nora." Rey calls out before she can though. "You seem as though you're a familiar swimmer. Would you be willing to work with Yuun, and Vega, on these diving suits. I need more than just one person familiar with them, so that we can get them on to Vega's submersible starship..."

With the wet wipe she has in hand completely filthy now, Rey sets it aside and unfolds a fresh one. "Ax, could you work with Jax on how to create fractures in the structure of rock large enough that we can move them. If nothing else, we can all observe from the ship, and potentially use our training to pull the loosened rock fragments out of the way, to free the creature inside. Hopefully... from the safety of the ship. Surely it doesn't want to eat a whole ship."

Right?
