Black Squad finds a disturbing relic lurking in the Volcano

OOC Date: October 19, 2020
Location: Rishi
Participants: Jessika Pava, Ektor, Bors Thul, Yuun, Elrych Cometburn, Rose Tico NPC'd by Poe Dameron, Black Squadron

The team sets down in a cavern, the walls are black like obsidian and clearly sculpted for discrete landings and shelter from the storms. By the time the fighters and such had made it through, Jess brought up the rear in the Ghost, bringing the bulk of their reinforcements to join the team on the ground.

Their mission: Investigate the island complex inhabited by the terrorist organization named Red Claws and ascertain whether or not Red Claws have been operating in other regions of the galaxy.

Red Claws was responsible for holding the capital city of Courkrus, Vlarnya, hostage by threatening to leverage the purity of their water system in exchange for the pardoning of wanted criminals.

Stepping out of the Ghost, Master Chief Rose Tico throws the sling of her rifle over her mid-section and tests the sighting laser on the side-rail. Satisfied it works, based on her observation of the red dot seen on the obsidian floor, the master engineer turns to regard their tactical leader for this op, Major Pava. General Dameron had returned to monitor the situation above in case others reacted to Red Claws fighters being slagged over the sea.

"Well, we're here," Rose said while fitting a beanie cap over her head and orienting her dark hair behind her ears. "What now?"

Following Rose down the ramp, Jessika halts at the bottom and reaches out a hand to brace it against Rose's shoulder. It's just enough pressure to hint that she's trying to get the other woman to stop, and just lasts long enough for her to get out what she wants to say. "I don't know if anyone ever told you this, but I know Paige is so proud of you. Let's do what she'd want us to do and make sure these bullies get what's coming to them, huh?" What pressure she applies with a squeeze of her fingers is gentle, and the words she shares with Rose are quiet, and don't leave the overhang of the Ghost over them. Adjusting her own weapon, Jessika ends the vulnerable person trying to share a moment with a friend and her next step is taken as Major Jessika Pava of the New Republic. She never thought she'd say that again.

"Alright, everyone gather up. We'll move in an order file of Rose on point, me second. Yuun, take up the rear if you don't mind. I'd like a lightsaber at our back just in case anyone decides to sneak up on us. Elrych," Jessika's gaze turns in time from one person of their crew to the next. "Ektor," She nods at both of them in turn. "Nothing needs saying. Let's get the job done, let's go home safe." Her hand lifts, then, to brace a fingertip against the bead slipped into her ear. <<"Testor to Operations. Radio check.">> Motions are made with her two fingers, indicative of a signal for the Master Chief to lead them forward on this bold initiative to kick some teeth in.

Elrych had taken the time to untangle from the crash netting of his fighter and dress out of his flight suit into something more comfortable. His robes swayed s he moved down the loading ramp of the Ghost behind Jess and Rose, blue eyes glancing around hawkishly. "We clear their base... clearly." He said in that sassy way only Obi-Wan-Kenobi could have possilby appreciated. Just without the posh accent and more of that lazy corellian drawl. You know the kind where it sounded like he was mumbling, chuckling, and slurring his words together like Ektor on a good night after a mission.

His saber hung from his utility belt, harmless for now. Needless to say, the Jedi way always ready to strike. The Force was his ally. He gave a nod to Jess and fell in.

New guy. Not very apt in the manner of stealth - but he can fly, he can shoot, and Dameron gave him an opportunity to show what his people can do. Bors was bereft of his robes, heavy clothes and Alderaanian cape. Borrowed armor, loaned rifle.

A Knight Pauper of a Royal Court - seeking to establish himself and find his footing. Hearing Pava issue orders and moving to slip into formation, the nobleman keeps his eyes up and his rifle head at low ready posture.

Go home safe. "And with the entertainment of many large, and yet somehow still very safe explosions, yeah?" Ektor cracks with a crooked grin to Jess' marching orders. He draws his old pistol and spins it around in his hand- actually looking surprised when he pulls off the bit of flash. "Holy drek, you see that? Didn't even drop it, yeah?" A grin to Bors. "You see that?"

Yuun asked to join the mission and was granted that permission. He needed to be active again more so, upon getting the mission briefing and coming here landing near the other ships. Exiting his ship, the Jedi Initiate dressed for the mission, his clothing is loose grey tunic like hoodie with a deep purple sleeveless over jacket. Tied about his waist is a black sash where the tails fall along his right side. His lightsaber is clipped to his belt.

Walking over to the gathering, he is quiet as their orders are giving to them and he nods his head. "Will do." he says to Major Pava as teh others line up, he moves to the back of the group, he was taking rear guard. It's been a long time since he's ever had to take rear guard for anything, still he's here to help.

Rose is caught off guard by the mention of her departed sister, and it shows on her face, but a soldier's bearing was everything before the start of a mission. She glanced down, a moment of bashful consideration and respect for the legacy that was her sister and the kind words offered, then finally replied with a soft, "..thanks, Jess." When she looked up, her expression was genuine, and she was nodding.

Rose steps to one side to give Jess room to address the team all the while she prepares her weapon. Rose glances up when Elrych says his bit, and it earns a crooked grin from the engineer. "Hopefully there aren't a lot of people here..." She says more for the Jedi Knight than the group at large.

Orders given, Rose finally puts her game face on and takes the point position. She is carrying an A280 rifle, making use of an after-market consolidated buttstock to make the weapon more useable in close quarters. She steps off, leading the group to a large set of doors that open when they step near them, revealing a large corridor. Rose moves into the corridor, glancing left, then moving right (because left was a dead end and wall.)

<<"GREAT DESTROYER!">> Intones the nasally response of the B1 modified droid named Mister Bones running tac from the Ghost with Bee-Bee Eight. <<"We are here to operationally support your great efforts of causing violence. Hahaha! HA! Proceed, Great Destroyer, and inform us of all organics you blast along the way. I'm eager to hear the.. specific.. detail.">> The comms cut, and BB-8 warbles a chipper voice about trying to regulate Mister Bone's use of tac.

Watching Ektor spin his sidearm fills her with the horrible mental image of her death being the result of the Tionese man's fumbling of the attempted trick, but Jessika is so used to these brief moments of wondering if what Ektor chooses to do is going to kill her that she ignores it. Chases it away before it has a chance to solidify and dig into her mind with any kind of meaningful presence. From it's position hanging from the point it's clipped to her gear at, Jessika's left hand slips under the barrel of her blaster rifle to heft it into a low ready. She shifts into position behind Rose and begins to follow, moving with the purposeful steps that have her feet barely moving over the ground lest some obstacle be in the path.

Looking down is not an option. Looking down takes her eyes from the field of battle, and it'll be that crucial moment of dumbly wondering what she stepped on that'll leave her vulnerable and dead. So she doesn't. Rose checks left, moves right. Jessika checks left, moves right. Rose cleared it, but Jessika still treats it like there may be a target there all the same, because once Rose isn't looking at it anymore, military discipline and logic tell her that's the moment the enemy will be there, and not checking is complacency, and complacency kills. She's in the grove of things right up to the point that Mister Bones' blaring voice threatens to overload her ear drum with the reverberations of his electronically distorted voice. "Honestly..." She murmurs it so low it's barely a noise past her lips, and her eyes double-check their surroundings because such a loud noise makes her feel like everyone on the planet had to have heard it. It's not the case at all, but it makes her paranoid all the same.

She doesn't reply to the abrupt communique, but stays on Rose, barrel oriented in a direction off to the side in case any threat looms in from their flank while Rose focuses on the direct path ahead of them.

As they begine to move Elrych finally unclibs the darkstar and angelshine cylinder from his belt. His thumb hangs near the red ignition button yet it does not press it. At the ready, he moves with purpose, gathing the force aroudn him with a deep breath in and a slow one out. He glances back at Ektor, "Showing off for the new guy, Xer?" He loks back to Jess, smirking at Mr. Bones' comm message. "That's one special droid."

"Splendid work, M'lord - a fine talent as a pistolero." Bors nods and offers a broad wink to Ektor to go with the slight grow of his grin, "A long practiced motion? Or have we had a run of luck after long practice?" another appreciative nod to the display of skill while his eye drifts towards the Major and Master Chief, brows lifting at the somber nature of their discourse.

Then the droid troop is blaring and the orange roller-droid is on the move. "Curious." gaze flitting to Ektor again, "Or this a standard sight on operations thus?" Jessika's response to the automaton a more serious version of the bemused look that it gets from him.

But wait... "I'm being rude." looking to the others, "Bors of Thuul." and then he quiets again, fully to business and ready to peel off file in whichever direction he comes to first - or to remain in place if need be.

Ektor cackles. "Huh? Nah, this is the first time. It ain't like I dropped the gun a dozen times or anything, yeah?" Elrych is answered, "Nah, that ain't but a dude effect, yeah?" Mister Bones receives the mist damning critique of his programming possible: "I *like* this droid! Why can't more droids be like that, yeah?" Bors is grinned at. "Ektor-Xer, yeah? And.. you get used to the crazy, after a bit, new guy."

Yuun is quiet, he looks towards Elrych for a moment but he's further up in the line, he lets out a breath. Closing his eyes, and shaking his legs, arms and the reest of his body as the others start moving after Rose. He's only met Rose once or twice, but they never spoke or have they? With things going on in his life he's not sure. He checks behind them and looks to their ships making sure all was well, and he smirks a little eat Mr. Bones, "Curious Droid." he says more to himself then out loud. Yuun places his thundersilk gloves on and unclips his lightsaber from his belt. The weapon isn't turned on but gripped in his hands as he follows after the others. He moves just a bit slower, taking in everything and watching to make sure that they arne't seen or snuck up on.

Rose is quiet, even with the nasally droid in her ear. Bones didn't earn much of a response from the Engineer; either she was familiar enough with its antics, or she had learned long ago to tune out the unneeded chatter to focus on the mission. Being small already made it easy for Rose to pie corners and take regulated steps, pivoting when she needed and moving with general practiced ease.

For the most part, their mission was quiet, but that changed when they made it to the center of the long dormant volcano. Their corridor accounted for one small fraction of the massive interior, and that became apparent as they stepped out into the open and onto a catwalk.

They had arrived on the southern side of the massive cavern. Ahead of them was true north, an open expanse that stretched for two miles straight across, which didn't account for the circumference of the entire volcano, which is what they were looking at, the CENTER chasm of the volcano. More humbling than the size of this massive chasm was what occupied the center, suspended by cranes and dry-dock stanchions: A Harrower-Class Dreadnought!

Rain poured in from the top of the volcano, the night sky flashing with lightning to show the rain impacting the craft, and emphasizing the Harrower's intimidating presence. "Unbelievable," Rose said, walking to the edge of the cat-walk to look at the distant, massive ancient ship. She was completely caught off guard by this fossil's presence, and what it meant for the Red Claws.

"No way.." Jessika murmurs once they reach the cavern. A hand lifts to gesticulate to those behind, indicating they needed to get lower and slower. She refused to believe that someone would park a Dreadnought here and then just walk away without their being some kind of security around it. What form that security takes is anyone's guess, but Jessika is willing to be there's multiple layers of it and she's wondering if they've remotely tripped anything on the way in. <<"Testor to Operations. We have a very big problem. A ship-sized problem. A ship inside a volcano sized problem.">> This is absurd. The scale is difficult for her to grasp in totality, so instead she looks to Rose. "This can't be good." It's a thin smile she provides.

Casting a glance over her shoulder, she motions with two fingertips for the trailing trio to gather up around her. She's not done like Rose and gone out onto the catwalk yet. "I think, uh, your idea of bombs is not going to work here, Ektor." Her fingers then gesture, knowing that as they emerge out of the corridor they've been following, the other three are going to get to see what she and Rose have already been privy to. <<"Operations, I'm gonna need some guidance here. If we get caught out on this catwalk trying to get somewhere else.. It's not gonna be good. This changes the whole game, I think.">> She clears her throat for a moment. "Rose, get some footage of this. Relay it back."

There wasn't much that surprised Elrych these days. So it might be a bit off putting when the Jedi looked startled to see the anchient Sith Empire Dreadnaught in the chasm of the volcano. "This is..." He said nealy breathlessly... "A Battleship of the Anchient Sith Empire. I've read about this. Fleets upon fleets... The destructive power alone was incredible." He takes a breath, looking over his shoulder to Yuun, "Do you sense anything?" He looks back to the cruiser, "I certainly hope anything 'Sith' in there is dead." The want to turn on his blade grew, yet he resisted as he gathered the Force again and let it clear his thoughts. He looks mare carefully, "Is it operational? How? It's had to have been over a thousand years?"

"My pleasure, Extor-Xer - I shall make intention to be around long enough to accustom myself to the lunacy, thus." Bors grins a little wider while his eyes remain front, never staying in one place long. At least until they come upon the suspended craft.

"By The Mother." the immobility forced on him is momentary, a second, but he is stopped none the less. Mouth falling open a fraction, trying to take in the sight before him and able to only shake his head. Any further comment is caught when the Major signals. Moving close to listen, awaiting a stretch of quiet before offering a slight clearing of his throat to try and gain Jessika's attention before offering up,

"Were we to acquire positioning on a defense emplacement, or two, we could seek to weaken the braces of the drydock, Major. Cause enough structural weakening and allow the fire of the world to consume the evil for us?"

Ektor adds to Jessika's report, <<"A big-ship sized problem.">> Mention of bombs, gets a rueful grimace, "I definitely did not bring enough bombs to blow that up. I'll bring more next time," he promises, sounding as serious as he tends to. "So what you think? How many bodies they got? I say we shoot our way in, and set the reactor to overload. BIG ASS boom, yeah? And if the reactor is dead, rekk em it ain't going nowhere." A pause as he reconsiders a direct attack against likely vastly superior numbers. "That, or come back with bombs. A LOT of bombs."

Yuun is the last to reach the others having not seen anyone coming up behind them, but as everyone stops and he sees teh hand signs. Honestly he's forgotten some of them. He moves up and sees the Dreadnaught and a slight shiver runs down his back as he sees the Ancient Sith Destroyer. He doesn't ignite his weapon, his eyes quickly glance back the way they came, then over across the bridge.

"I never thought I would see something like this." he says in a low tone of voice. He moves closer to the bridge looking acrossed it, he takes a breath, "I feel a sense of impending danger but nothing...." he pauses a moment. "Immediate." he says as he looks to the group. "I don't think these pirates should keep this vessel, either we neeed to destroy this thing which will be hard or we get aboard and sabotage it." he offers.

Rose does as she's told, and takes a knee, producing a recording device to capture the Harrower in all its intimidating elegance. Imperial design was without question, this ship embodied power, destruction, and had a presence that Rose felt humbled by. Just looking upon the craft made her knees weak.

Talk among the team drew her attention, and the engineer clicked when Bors said something that peaked her brows. "The new guy is right.." Rose indicated, then gestured out to the cranes and dry-dock supports holding the vessel. "One or two of those fail, you're triggering a catostrophic failure and distribution of weight. Most professional docks have failsafes..here..?" Rose switched the optics of her recorder device to night-vision and scanned below. After a moment, she shook her head. "Their math is really good, because there's no cushion down there..It's held up by a prayer."

Guidance from operations arrives in the form of static. There was too much geothermal pressure interference. "What do you want to do, Major?"

Rose glances from Jess to Elrych, Ektor, and Yuun.. taking in their comments about the vessel to fill in the gaps of its personality. As an engineer, Rose had a habit of personifying ships. This ship.. this ship she nicknamed Mean Mother.

Right befor Rose says the new guy is right, Jessika cranes her head around to look at him like she's seeing him for the first time. What was his name again? She's being a bad Executive Officer, but that's not the important part. He gets the look, for a moment. The look that Ektor is used to getting, and the one that indicates Jessika thinks something is so absurd that she has no clue why someone has bothered to open their mouth to utter such ridiculous notions. The slight scowl on her face softens into something else. A more astute study, perhaps, of the man suggesting they blow the structural supports and send the whole thing crashing down into the volcano. Her finger taps against the trigger guard of her weapon.

It's Rose's voice that distracts her away, and it's the Maser Chief that gets her attention. Has she considered the same musings? Who knows what goes on in Jessika Pava's head. Generals (okay, one General) have stared at her and tried to work out the musings and gears turning within. None (He) have (hasn't) succeeded. "Problem. Destroying the struts is going to work, but if we destroy the wrong... right... struts," Jessika frowns at Ektor, because somehow this is his fault. Hearing him talk all the time has robbed her of her vocabulary over time, she's sure of it. Or maybe it was that one time she tried the booze he made and it killed those brain cells. Continuing, "The whole thing comes down too quick, the whole cavern goes up in a massive shower of lava, and we're dead before we can make it back." She stays in place for a moment and simply stares.

"There." Jessika points at a platform jutting out with crane support. "We get rid of that, we get what we want, and we have the time to get back. I think." She could be wrong. She's been wrong before. The number of times that's been the case.. "Let's find a way up there, Chief. Ektor, you'll get to use your bombs after all. Good idea, new guy."

"Climbing? Great I'm the best climber around." Elrych muses as Jess points out her plan. "Though setting a timed charge on the reactor sounds interesting... I may or may not just be curious to see the inside. Like. This is a one in a life time kind of thing. Like /how/ did they even find this and where can I get one?" He smirks just a bit, chuckling lightly. "Lead the way." He nods towards Jess.

Joyous! Service to the group and budding proof of his usefulness. Worthiness was yet to be seen, of course. But it was hard to hide the thrill budding from the success of his quick thinking. Bors looked between the others, unsure of how they will respond to his sticking his nose in.

Contribute or waste away. A hard lesson of the house tutors. There was no small twinge of sarcastic acceptance that his Chadian Au Pair had imparted among the other lessons heaped upon him by tutors and private instructors.

That all goes away when Pava gives him The Look, withering him. Decades of the Courts and the Republic SFC have ingrained durasteel in his neck and lock-pins in his eyes to not look away despite the self disappointment welling in him up until she says that. It doesn't stop his jaw dropping some at the compliment, enough he has to actively shut it when he realizes he's got the door open for bugs to get in. Nor the brief stutter that follows,

"Bhu-Bors. Major." a brief nod and a swallow.

"Boom, baby," Ektor crowd in triumph as Jess mentions detonations being a good idea. "*Knew* I got out of bed for a reason, today. Yanno... other than the whole.. saving the galaxy drek. But with bombs." A firm nod.

Looking towards the ship and looking where they were supposed to go. He sighs and he is a good climber but not all of them shoudl go. "Do we need all of us up there, too many people make us easy to pick off." he says to them. "Or am I not understanding something crucial?" he asks as he looks to the group gathered. Yuun looks back out towards the structor they are to climb up.

"Understood, Major," Rose replies and hoists her weapon up so it's supported by both hands. She steps off, moving along the cat-walk and taking a series of stairs up to the appropriate level to reach the 'mission platform'.

The Mission Platform, as indicated by Jess, was a central crane station, and it was responsible for holding not just one section of the bow, but both jutting frontal pieces of the ship through a complicated rigging system that spanned countless lengths of steel cable and pulleys.

The platform was occupied by a small contingent of terrorists. Some were chit-chatting and waiting out the storm, some were smoking. Rose held up a hand and indicated hostiles ahead. She counted 11 in total, and there was a leader type standing at the edge of the platform itself talking into a datapad.

Rose gave the silent command to spread out, pointed to the Jedi to take the lead, then looked to Jess to give the order for the ambush.

"Hello There," Elrych announces as he moves to point like Rose had indicated. He doesn't seek cover, instead walk casually in the middle of the platform towards the small group of terrorist. "Would you mind answering a few questions for a curious yet extrodinarily well dressed scholar like myself?" He asked with a smoewhat charming smile. It allways hung on the far side of cocky and sassy, dripping with that corellian over confidence and ego. "Like, where is the blazing hell of Tatoo's Twin Suns did you get this beautiful piece of art right here." He whistles, ooking up at the dreadnaught. He looks back over his shoulder, "Are we sure we can't pull a Havoc One on this? I promise I'll give it to fleet after I take it for a joy ride and never come back." He looks back to the pirates and smiles again. "Seriously though, let's have a sit down. Talk it out. Be reasonable." His lightsaber was still in his hand, ready for the inevitable turn of the tables.

Laying in wait, prepared to ambush. Daring dos and heroic action called to the fore. Eleven enemies and a symbol of terrible things that could be a rallying point for worse. Soldier, noble, conscript to service and volunteer guided by the will and wish of his princess and liege. Dagger work to be done, foul even for a good cause.

"Mother guide my spirit to find forgiveness for the lives that I must take to preserve others. Father guide my hand that it be the righteous and the aegis for those who cannot take up arms. Let me be wicked so they remain pure. Let me seek redemption so that they need not."

Sighting up a target while he speaks barely above a whisper. Cool calm befalling him as he waits to fire while the man with... Wait what the hell is Elrych holding?! Mother protect him... OH! And then there is shooting. No more time for thought and prayer, only time to see how rusty his ground skills have become.

Pretty rusty.

Ektor peers aside at Bors curiously as the gentleman prays and asks forgiveness. Once the shooting starts, the Tionese pirate opens fire on the Red Claws in burst of pistol fire that sees two of the (bad) pirates dropped. He hollers, "And I enjoyed it!" afterward, before advising Bors, "That's your first mistake, New Guy: *never* ask forgiveness BEFORE you rekk drek up, yeah?"

Ektor adds, "Or after, really. Never ask forgiveness is the takeaway, here."

When the pirates came out, he watches as Elrych tries to talk them down or at least joke to possibly disarm the pirates. But that didn't go so well, he looks on as Elrych doesn't get hit, but seeing Ektor return fire, Yuun rushes forward, leaping into the air and igniting his lightsaber, a cool blue energy blade snap-his into life. The young Jedi Iniate swings and slashes through one of the pirates as he comes down, spinning the blade to defend himself and maneuver so that he is able to get into a good position, he slashes horizontally across the mid-section of a pirate, the pirate next to Yuun tries to attack but Yuun impales him through the chest. A frown on his face, "Rest in peace now." is what he murmurs as he brings his lightsaber up to defend and cover whoever is next to him.

Initial combat began in the blink of an eye as the group considered Elrych then shot at the Jedi. He was far too quick for them to retain any sense of accuracy, but that initiated the subsequent battle. From behind the Jedi emerged those who had been posed the question about making this a Havoc One type mission.

Rose sighted in the leader as they turned around and slowly lowered their device. A second later, a red bolt from her rifle impacts his chest and tears out the back, clouding the space behind them in a mist of pink before they fall off the edge of the platform to fall below, out of sight.

Several members of the eleven goons have already fallen and six remain, calling out what they see and engaging shadows at this point. None are successful at landing a shot. Rose holds her ground for now, feeling far more confident in her ability to engage at mid-range over close quarters.

So much for peaceful negotiations. Elrych tried, he truly did. Jessika couldn't fault him for that. What she can fault is the individuals who begin shooting. She takes cover during the opening volley, trying to find somewhere that won't result in some shot hitting her in the shoulder and sending her catapulting off the ledge of the narrow walkway. She doesn't like being up high like this. She doesn't like it one single bit. Especially not when certain melting doom awaits at the bottom of such a fall. With the initial salvo exchanged, Jessika swings out to shoulder her rifle and try to line up a shot on the goons that remain. Black Squadron has knocked them down a good few, but as long as some remain, the plan is in danger. "Ektor, you need to get ready to move fast on this! I find it hard to believe they wouldn't notice a stang firefight!" Yeah, they may be in trouble. Maybe.

"Life is life, vile or virtuous, my friend." Bors expression is calm, serene even as he he tracks his missed shot as well as the next as he continues to chew up stone and duracrete rather than the enemy - but not for a lack of trying on his part.

"Yet it seems the Mother does not seek my hands be crimson this day - or my skill in wielding a rifle and not the controls of a cannon have floundered some in my time away from the field." watching Jessika move, calling out to Ektor and then back to the man question. "Well then, best you step at clip or we risk her icy gaze frosting us over and the strength of her bellow shatter us like poorly tempered metal."

Moving quickly to follow where directed for now, the New Guy (tm) is on the move speaking in a conversational tone, oddly enough for a battle cry, "For the Republic. For Alderaan!"

"I hear you, Jess," Ektor calls back. "Ready to go, ready to blow," he draws, spraying blaster fire at the remaining trio of foes. As sloppy and erratic as his technique is, Ektor manages to be a deadly shot, dropping two and badly wounding one. To Bors, he grins as he checks on his pet bombs, a d asides, "Nah, the whole 'what the rekk is *wrong* with you, how are you not dead a d why haven't I shot you' look she gets? That's how I know she likes me, yeah?" Ektor may not comprehend people very well, but he steps to in good haste. "Big boom incoming, yeah? I'm moving."

Yuun doesn't see any hostiles but that doesn't mean anything, there could be more. "Is everyone ok?" he ask sover the comms and he glances around to check on everyone. Upon seeing everyone alright and still upright, he looks back to their objective, "How many pirate do we think are on that ship?" he asks curiously for a moment wanting to know what the others thought on this would be.

"Come ON guys.. what are you doing up there?! Are those... are those glowsticks?? I'm coming up.." Yelled one of the roving guards, and he begins to radio in as the sounds of blasters and random flashes raises suspicion and alarm. The THUNKTHUNKTHUNK of heavy bootfalls betray the approach of another goon arriving to observe what was going on. <<"WHat the rekking drek.. there's people up here! We're... We're under attack! They've killed them! They've killed them!">> He screams into his comm device and turns to run away.

Alarms in the cavern begin to blare and echo, and red rotating lights start. Lights on the ship come to life then, and a thunderous bass emerges from beneath it, rumbling. In atmosphere, that was the sound of engines!

"HURRY!" Rose screams, dropping down to a knee, prepared to defend their spot while Xer works.

"Hmm." Alarms blaring, individuals running about. Jessika spies the one responsible for the absolute cacophony echoing throughout the volcano. Yanking her barrel around towards his retreating form, she steadies just long enough to let her breath out. To let everything stop for a second. Elbows tucked. Finger squeezing. Her blaster rifle barks and whatever passed for the man's chest cavity is now his chest cavity plus a smoking hole through it. Ektor begins running. The New Guy Buhbors--how could she know it's a stutter?--is saying some crazy prayer? Is it a prayer? <<"Testor to Operations. We're in trouble.">> Their communications might still be down thanks to all the interference. "BUHBORS, ELRYCH, YUUN, CATWALK DUTY WITH ME! ROSE, EKTOR, GET EVERYTHING RIGGED!" For a brief moment, Jessika thinks this may actually be it. She's never felt as close to death except for that one time they were flying a giant bomb. An actual giant bomb of a ship. She has the brief lucidity to be surprised she's never told Ektor that story, and then the focus of combat is taking over everything again.

Elrych twirls his lightsaber around in a fancy fashion but at a slow pace, walking on the catwalk already back towards his dark green cloak on the ground. He squats down and picks it up, inspecting the damage. He purses his lips in disapointment, "Drek... another night of stitching..." There is a look towards Jess as she shouts names. He can't help but laugh, even as he stands there, open to fire, no cover even entering his thought process. "Ahhhaha, Buhbors... oh man. Good one Jess." He looks down towards the pirates shouting about them attacking. He waves. HE WAVES OPENLY AT THEM. "HELLO THERE FREINDS?!" Was he high? Did Ektor put spice in his cereal again?

"By your lead, Major." rising and moving with rifle shouldered and his cheek just shy of the furniture unless the circumstance comes he must lower it to run. The name though? Accepted. No need for clarifications in the field. Elrych's comment gaining lofted brows and a raise of one corner of his mouth.

Catwalk duty. Alas. What that he should find himself at controls of blaster cannons on a pintle mount if not a full rotational turret. The sing of energy and the shriek of displaced air. Not to be his. But Buhbors is ready for his service, to whatever end may come - ill or gainful.

"Another day in the office, comrades. It's good to be at work again."

Ektor mutters, "Rekk me running," as he hurry-limps to the designated demolition point. "Ahhh.." he begins wiring the explosive charge, but isn't doing a great job of it. "I think I got it. I got it- I don't got it. Rose, bit of help here?" A grimace as he starts correcting the timer wiring. "In my defense, I'd be a lot better at this if you let me blow drek up more often, Jess! But *no* it's always 'collateral damage' this, and 'banned ordnance' that.. So beach trip after this, yeah?"

Yuun switches off his weapon, he didn't need it on right now also he didn't want to give away his position. He hears Jess call for him and Elrych and Buhbors, "Bless you Captain." he says thinking she sneezed not knowing that was someones name. He quickly makes it up to to the Catwalk. He looks around and finds a good place where he could guard and defend if need be.

Rose walks briskly across the distance to help Ektor, their urgency conveyed in her expression but not in her actions. Rose seems to move with a bit of experience, someone who is used to operating under a lot of pressure. "The charge is wrong, Tion. /Like this/," She corrects, fixing the charge plate so it'll spark the explosive correctly and not prematurely. With the charges set, Rose pats Xer on the shoulder to let him take the lead while she bring up the rear. "ALL SET, MAJOR!" Rose yells out, taking hold of her weapon again.

The sounds of a lot of people on the catwalk echoes everywhere, and blaster shots start pelting the platform they'd just been at in random intervals, casting sparks in their wake. Rose is eager to escape, but she's convinced herself that this may be it. Alarms blaring, angry terrorists giving chase, a dreadnought coming to life, a hurricane outside the volcano, and comms... comms being drekky-- <<"Testor, it's Pretty Boy. I linked up with the team and took over the Ghost. I'm going to do something stupid. Activate your IFF.">>

Doing something stupid, as relayed by Poe Dameron, meant doing something crazy brave or foolish. Through the darkness, and opening of the volcano, the VCX-100 craft lowers into the cavern. Poe is at its helm, flying 'dark' until he's right up on his crew.

Lights come on suddenly and the freighter levels beside the catwalk, the ramp down. Mister Bones is at the edge of the ramp wearing a tattered poncho, his spikey beak-shaped head regarding them as he yelled in a nasally mechanical voice. <<"OH NO, DON'T FALL WHEN YOU JUMP! HAHAHA!">> A blaster bolt impacts above the droid's head, but he doesn't even flinch as sparks shower over its frame.

When everyone is aboard, the demolitions go off, the crane consumed in the sudden manifestation of orange. Cables snap and a chain reaction occurs. By then, the Ghost is already exiting the chamber as the structural integrity of the surrounding interior begins to fail. Cat-walks snap and fall, cranes crumble inward and break, the dreadnought dips and falls-- And the Ghost makes it out of the volcano taking to the sky. Unclear of the result, the crew leaves in haste. Aboard the Ghost, Rose carries a discarded datapad left by the dead Lt she'd shot, and she hands it to Jessika. "Here.. maybe there's something on here."
