Log:BHG: Artillery Playground
A huge fight in the park
OOC Date: February 19, 2021
Location: Industrial Park, Quadrant 2, Coronet City, Corellia
Participants: Bounty Hunters' Guild, Bossk, Boba Fett Mentioned, Jarret Sur, Hadrix Kora, Hahtavi, Kirioth Kora, Ishnahk, Dhr'rall, Terek Rosol, Sumi Kora
The day is young still, and rain falls in sheets. It's no easy task ahead, but the BHG sanctions another devastating hit to the 'gangster population' that leads our warriors to quadrant two of Coronet City. Relegated to the ghetto, essentially, this territory consists of tall apartment buildings, warehouses, and old industrial complexes long abandoned by official corporations, but taken over by criminal organizations. This area is notorious for taking civilian grade items bought on open market, and mass scale retrofitting them with after market military upgrades which have made criminals here very dangerous.
Where would one find such a pipeline of workers to do all of this, though? Those who have nothing to lose! Those who occupy the very region we are invading. Those who will defend it because the criminals in this city have given them purpose and places to live!
Sumi's voice cuts over comms as they arrive outside the Corellian Industry Memorial Park and disembark their ride, a personnel shuttle. <<"Mr. Bullet wants us to hunt down four walkers in this area. He says they're scaring off CorSec involvement. He also said this place is a stinger nest of diehard criminals. We're talking the low-lives of low-lives. The park is a pretty large location, and I recommend we tackle a walker at a time.. if we can manage to find them and draw them out. Everyone get your gear ready, and let's move out!">>
Where were they going? The roadway they landed on takes them straight to the park, but they'll have to cut between an alleyway. The sound of battle is already taking place within a different section of the same quadrant. Gor Bullet was leading a similar assault with some of the old timers of the guild. For them to succeed in their action, it was up to this group to crush the walkers that often patrol these streets. (AT-STs)
Sumi prepares an A280 CFE variant, collapsing its buttstock and snapping it into her sling. A guided rocketlauncher is on her back, and she has a duffle bag full of High Explosive Dual Purpose munitions (HE-DP). One shouldn't stand near her when the shooting starts..
Fully recovered from the damage he took while the hunters claimed the bridge, Ishnahk is back and ready for more. He steps off of the shuttle with the others and readies an E-11. He checks the weapon's charge and moves out with the others, eager to bring more pain to these criminal scum.
Ah, good. It's a block war.
Kitted out for urban combat, Jarret is ready for the close-ranged combat soon to come; blades and blasters, the ultra-compact carbine in his arms made all the more dangerous with newly-replaced emitter coils and match-grade imaging optics keyed into his helmet. Mandalorian designed. Mandalorian made. Let them come with their bastardized weapons. They'll be nothing before the pain he'll level unto them.
<<"Acknowledged.">> Walkers, too. Well, at least this will not prove a boring battle, if such a thing can exist. Jarret marches forth with the rest, tracking the towers ahead with eyes sharpened by helmet sensors. <<"Oya, vod,">> he signals directly to Hahtavi. <<"The grenade launcher there will serve you well against those walkers. Get the projectiles in through the vision ports.">>
Roth isn't a Bounty Hunter but she's here since most of the other Kora's are a part of the organization. And with the latest loss they had to endure it makes sense that people are out fighting to keep from sitting around and focusing on things. She's listened quietly as Sumi tells them what the plan is and the woman in the alabaster armor gives a nod to the Alor of her clan before bringing dagger and sword to bear and waits for the action to start. Because she's the kind of psycho to bring a knife to a walker fight and this should not surprise anyone that knows the Arkanian.
Relatively quiet during the briefly Dhr'rall's glowing jade pupils take in the rest of the team before slipping on his helmet. This time for now he's leaving off the faceplate below the visor to keep his muzzle clear. Specifically his nose. He notes the Guild Lieutenant's loadout. "Dhr'rall rarely feel inadequate, but lacking in explosives." His clawfingers curl and crack the knuckles of his massive hands. Shrugging, it is time to pluck the heavily modified scout rifle off his thigh to check it over and ready it for what is to come. His ears prick up from his helmet, twitching in seemingly random directions. He's working to locate their targets already. "Dhr'rall very good at vanishing in plain sight." Always entertaining given his size. "Could start scouting."
Urban fighting can be nasty. On the other hand it means you have cover almost everywhere. But so do /they/.
Hahtavi has disembarked the shuttle and pulls a rifle with a grenade launcher around, double checking it's setting and looking around cautiously. Kitted out in a better set of Mandalorian armor now, he listens up, << Hahtavi copies, over. >>
He looks towards the park's direction and the alleyway that they'll need to use to access that area. No waiting, Hahtavi moves to cover and starts looking for possible hostiles, obsticals, cover, along the route they'll likely be taking. And looking UP at the buildings along that direction.
Sumi takes the rear of the group, moving her arm instinctively around her weapon to take hold of its grip and hoist the rifle up. When the receiver is lifted high enough, her other hand cups underneath to support it, drawing it back against her shoulder and orienting the muzzle down for now. <<"No restrictions, just be mindful of friendly locations and try not to bring buildings down. Even abandoned, these properties have value.">>
They make it to the end of the alleyway no issue, but when they emerge, they can see the park. A maze of overgrown shrubbery, and tall trees with a canopy so thick it can't be seen through from the air. It made sense why Mr. Bullet sent them in on foot. Unfortunately, the forested park is crawling with gangsters mobilized and dug in, ready to fight them. Almost immediately out of the alleyway, the first shots ring out, poorly aimed but in large quantity. Small arms, by the sounds and look of it, and some fifteen (15) people spread among the base of the trees, firing at random intervals. One such gangster even has his blaster pistol cocked to one side!
Ishnahk rushes in, rifle raised and ready. As soon as the gangsters appear, the Trandoshan skids to a stop and takes aim. His first blast goes wide but the second finds it's mark and one of the gangsters goes down screaming; wreathed in flames.
It's been a while since he's done a combat leap, and Jarret decides it's time to try - getting behind the poor bastards and starting up a crossfire will be very helpful in the immediate conflict. Taking a running start, Jarret makes to leap forward and launch - but leap is all he does, as nothing comes from his lift pack but a little grunt. To the outside observer, Jarret apparently leaps into an awkward, leaping slide...and promptly crashes into a dumpster while shooting. One shot goes wide, though the other - driven by spite and momentary embarassment - drills one of the punks center mass, dropping him instantly.
So at least /something/ was salvaged.
Someone shot in their general direction?! That's enough of an excuse for Roth to go off. And by go off it means that the alabaster banshee lets out a battle cry and takes a few long legged strides before kicking off the ground and she goes flying towards the shot. She was a very angry blender. The woman lands in front of an unlucky target and in two quick strikes they are flopping over in a lifeless way. She breathes deeply and then recenters herself for the next attack...or to get her butt shot off.
There is a growl of understanding deep in the Togorians throat. He shoulders the rifle and prepares to move cover to cover. He has a history of getting shot on these adventures after all. The price one pays for being such a large target. There is some slow blinking through his dark transparent visor was Jarret slide tackles a dumpster. "Mandalorians are strange to Dhr'rall." Not condemning, just curious as to the early victory dance manuever... or dealing with the offense the dumpster gave to Jarrets ancestors. Dhr'rall really has no reference. But it was a nice shot afterwards. Roth makes with the stabbery, and Dhr'rall just raises his rifle and triggers a shot to end a gangster without any fanfare.
As soon as they come out of the alley's mouth and shots start popping in their direction, Hahtavi's moving swiftly for the nearest cover along the edge of the park. While others fire of their jetpacks, Hahtavi spares a quick glance for Roth flying over and he mutters to himself, rather than over his coms, <<" I gotta get me one of those. ">> Then he's too busy looking for targets.
The T27's but is set against his left shoulder, goved hands raising it to take a bead on a shooter who's using shrubbery for concealment. Concealment however is not the same as /cover/ when it comes to getting shot. Hahtavi smiles behind his helmet's T-visor and waits for the guy to lean out once more and fires off a coherant zap of light! He nails the gangster who flings his arms up and hits the ground spread eagled!
Hahtavi is already looking for more targets and for additional cover so he can keep his ass moving. No wanting to stay put too long and let them zero in on his position. But, also keep peripherally aware of what his team mates are doing, as he's able.
Well, the shooting starts without a ton of fanfare. Terek is used to this part by now. The Mandalorians and their bounty hunter guild associates are having shots rained down on them, in some of the worst display of aiming that Terek has seen.
The cathar is quick to roll into cover behind a fallen tree, bracing his blaster over the edge of it. A shot slams into the bark near him, making his first shot fly off target, but he quickly re-adjusts and fires again, striking the target in the shoulder and sending him to the ground.
It's likely Sumi can -feel- the Hadrix Frown when she says 'don't bring buildings down'. He stands there, shoulders a little stooped, looking to the buildings. To Sumi. To the Buildings. Sumi. Buildings. Grenade belt. Sumi, then head turning to look at the rocket coming out of the top of his armor. Sumi. Buildings.
THE FROWN
It threatens to melt the front off of his helmet. THREATENS it.
<"Fine..."> rifle brought up and the charging sphere humming louder as he switches to team coms <<"This is Hadrix, I am advancing and preparing to utilize ordinance on walker units. Keep your spacing, they're designed to target clusters, so don't bunch up and if you go to concealment, be ready to move immediately after firing.">>
And off he goes, feeding his own tactical details through his suit and Gripper as a relay to the others, doing his best to try and live up to the reputation of the armor that was hand forged for him. Recently reinforced as well in the right shoulder pauldron that absorbs the kick that actually forces Hadrix to brace and still be pushed back almost a meter when it goes off. The first shot striking one of the thugs and leaving the poor kriffer mostly hole and only a few parts otherwise - the second shot? It goes well wide as the big man is forced back again, a hunk of sidewalk masonry exploding in a mushroom cloud.
<<"Hathavi, Terek - keep Roth covered, she's exposing herself again.">>
The fight kicks off like it usually does with blaster bolts going in every direction. Sumi manages to catch one gangster center mass with a powerful rifle bolt that punches straight through their torso and hits the tree behind them. Sumi calls out, <"One down!"> Before pushing her shoulder up against a tree for cover. Taking a kneeling stance, Sumi peeks about and catches sight of a walker nearing their location. Transmitting it to the others, the red outline of the approaching armor appeared in HUDs.
<"Armor incoming, boys and girls. Find cover.. I'm prepping the ordnance!"> Sumi screams out, cursing to herself as she begins to prepare the rocket launcher for a shot.
Meanwhile, the gangsters keep the fight up. Seven (7) in total remain, and the last flurry of shots saw some of their number injured! One down, even! Sumi didn't witness Dhr'rall go down, but when she glanced up, she saw him fall back to cover to see to his wounds! It must've been bad!
The sound of the diddybopping mechanical AT-ST begins to draw closer. Even the ground shakes from the steps as the chicken-walker's head turns to try to track targets.
PEWPEW PEWPEW
A small tree is uprooted and falls over slowly with a loud creaking noise and rains starts to fall heavier.
Sumi is in the process of preparing the guided rocket system, but needs cover to do so efficiently!
Ishnahk presses forward and somehow doesn't manage to draw much attention to himself. He grins widely behind his helmet as he sees the enemy fall to his comrades. And then the ground is shaking and Sumi is warning the group of what they'd been waiting for; the AT-STs. A tree falls nearby as blasterfire erupts from the walkers and Ishnahk slides in next to it as it comes to rest on the ground. Rising up, he takes aim and fires two more blasts into the fray. "Two more down." he rasps into his helmet's comm.
It's a park. There's lots of cover or concealment. Big gnarly trees and some of them down, rocks that children used to climb all over, a half blasted playset area, concrete and metal benches, big fat flower planters, the base of an old fountain, statuary, refresher unit out buildings, the usual sorts of park stuff. But there are also expanses of open ground, people dug into firing positions, the occasional hole from some explosion. Lots of dubious concealment like trashcans and shrubbery.
Hahtavi moves up deeper into the park, <<" Another one down. ">> Then he's seeing other firing positions on his team and having slid in behind a big stone flower trough, Hahtavi pops around the side to fire off another shot from the T-27 ... but it misses, drek!
Nonetheless the clanless Mandalorian checks Roth's position now he's moved closer to cover her six as best he can. She got ahead of him with that jetpack. Ut oh, here comes the first Walker!
Roth is definitely trying to get shot. But...there's some big cat dude that takes the hits for her..."I can get guys to take shots for me but I can't find one to date. Wild." the Arkanian mutters to herself. Maybe falling on a bullet was easier? Probably. There is a shrug in a very comedic way as she turns to lash out at the next person. She hears Hadrix over the comms, <<I'm fine! I'm taking cover as well!>> she tells them as she stabs the next two guys and leaves them to flop to the ground in a heap. Then she scurries back to what cover she is able to find. Walking target that she is.
It's hard to fire shots effectively when there's a walker bearing down on you. Terek takes cover behind a tree that's not on the ground, leaning out from behind it and firing off a trio of shots. Only one hits, but it's more than enough to finish off the gangster he's shooting at.
<"I'll do what I can to cover 'em, but it's hard for me to do much with those walkers bearing down on us!" Maybe he should get himself one of those jetpack rocket launchers himself, though!
<<"Copy, following your marker.">> Hadrix is moving, heading for masonry to duck behind as the targeting antennae on his helmet flips down and a socket plug within his helmet extends to insert into the widening iris of his bionic eye with a soft 'schlick' sound. Never a sensation he's been able to get used to, either, as he grimaces and feels the targeting data fill part of his vision. When blaster bolts sail past him, one skimming his helmet while he twists and drops into a Mandalorian Roll - well he tries. It's wet on the ground and instead he hits on his shoulder and hutt-ball slides into a corner of a wall with a grunt. It carried him beneath the next shot at least.
"Smooth." <"Shut up, Gripper."> "Do better." amusement in her voice as Hadrix scrambles to his feet and looks in the direction of the walkers again, tapping at a switch on the side of his helmet.
<<"Targeting.">> the soft tone in his head as much as within the confines of his head gear. A hissing sound as well as the cybernetic circuits do their work on direct interface.
"It's in your eye again." A sound like a shudder in her synthesized tones and the Droid attaches all four of her clamps to one of his shoulder pauldrons. <"Get out of my HUD if you don't like it."> "Look... I... Look!" Gripper prepares to duck while feeding her own visual data, "That just seems uncomfortable." <"Trying to aim."> "Fine."
A momentary solid buzz and the rocket kicks forth from the jetpack mounted on Hadrix's back, spiraling out towards the painted target, red lights just beneath the warhead cone looping faster and faster as it homes in and smashes into the side of the armored vehicle shaking the walker's structure and cracking armor. Hadrix, meanwhile, ducks back down and re-readies his rifle while a giddy shiver goes through him.
Explosions.
<<"Target hit, still up.">>
Right. Time to try again.
Jarret goes running down the alley, sighting a balcony beyond the other end that he can vault to - but whatever's going on with his jetpack, it is /not/ firing. << Osik, >> he mutters to himself, barely audible over comms, and instead just charges headlong at the two remaining gangsters before dropping both at close range with well-placed torso shots. It /looks/ cool, perhaps, but Jarret still carries the shame. The shame of an engineer whose equipment is not behaving.
Shaaaaame.
Sumi hoists the missile tube up, reaching over to roll the optics down and prime the weapon to fire. <"You're a heavy Huttsucker.."> She laments to herself, taking a low kneeling stance and bracing her shoulder to the tree. With the weapon set, and Sumi behind cover but angled and oriented toward the walker, she allows some time for the optics to align.
Beepbeepbeepbeepbeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
<<"I'm set, and I've got a lock--">> BOOM! Hadrix's rocket smashes into the side of it stumbling the AT-ST and frightening its operators who are not used to having ordnance fired at them. Sumi has to spend time to adjust, and the smoke that was produced from the rocket hit scrambles the optics a bit.
Beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep.
Through the smoke and rain come seventeen (17) more GANGSTERs. Their small arms fire rips through the air by the group, pocking up dirt, duracrete, rocks, and tree bark.
Currently, OUR SETTING, has us inside this forest park with tall trees. The branches are thick, large enough to hold the weight of someone were they to land on them. However, the apartments BEHIND us have no vantage to provide because the canopy of leaves conceal the ground from view. The only height advantage is in the trees!
Summary: 17 gangsters, 1 Walker.
Ishnahk doesn't have anything he can use against the walker, but he can keep those newly-arrived gangsters busy. From his place behind cover, he lines up another shot. The rifle kicks and another gangster hits the ground. A second kick and another enemy gets taken out of the fight. The Trandoshan raises his rifle in celebration. "The Ssscorekeeper will bathe in blood tonight!!" he snarls as he waits for another opening to fire.
The heavy weapons employed by other parties, Jarret continues his run into the park - tucking behind a tree, squatting low, he sights up another pair of gangsters and downs them. << Hahtavi, >> he calls. << Grenades on those scum! >>
Roth's figuring that either she's going to walk out of this with few scratches or that Rathe's going to have to put together tiny little pieces. Either way she's gotta get some of these guys thinned out. The Arkanian rolls out of her cover and pops up next to the nearest targets, this guy didn't need his kidney, so she shivs the dagger into his lower back. Which makes them go reeling and eventually slumping over. The next target is cut down by a hard strike from the vibrosword before she dashes to cover. Hoping to make it.
While he's trying to close up and cover Roth's six as Hadrix ordered, he's not really sure where Terek got off to. Too much happening. The walker is what he /really/ wants to target but he's not real close to it and it's facing away from him. Sumi and Hadrix seem to be doing a very fine job of keeping it occupied so Hahtavi uses his cover to peer out and try to see if he can spot more than one of the gangsters on foot clumped up together. It quickly becomes obvious that /they/ haven't had any military training.
Ducking back for a second, Hahtavi flips the toggle on the rifle to another setting. He pops out from behind the big carved rock that used to serve as a base for a statue, leaning out the opposite side from the corner he'd peaked around, and fires off a grenade into the thick of the trash firing upon their own positions.
- 2043620436### WWWHHOOOMMMM! ####**
The grenade blows shrubbery, body parts, weapons, sod and all sorts of things up into the air! Hahtavi's such a litter bug. He triggers his coms after he ducks back down << "Like that, Alor'Sur? Over." >> Now, where'd Roth get off to?
"Damn!" Terek's doing his best to keep his head down as things explode all around. He wishes they had some air support, but there's too much tree cover for that, "Need to burn this forest to the ground!" He yells at nobody in particular, before he leans around and fires a trio of shots. He checks his weapon afterwards. Almost out. He'll need to reload the powerpack soon...If anyone is left standing after the next barrage of missiles.
"Going to have to pull apart that whole assembly to get a new rocket in there." <"It was worth it."> "I'll give you that."
<<"Keep using the tree line - Roth'ika, isolate and dismember.">> Hadrix moves from where he had huddled down, slipping from cover point to cover point as he speaks, <<"Jarret is correct - keep to the outskirts of their formation for ordinance to be used.">> hand dipping to his hip to pull up a sphere with an activator switch, <<"Sumi'Alor - remember Canto Bight?">>
She probably remembers Canto Bight. That was a helluva throw then as well.
"You're not." <"Yup."> "Rekking hells of Corellia." <"Yup!">
The selector is clicked the slowly quickening clicks and bleeps coming and then it's away. Sailing between trees and the limbs en route for the AT-ST where it thunks as the thermal detonator lodges in the view-port hood, allowing time enough to see it blinking like a door prize at the worst holiday party ever.
Rain is flash evaporated into steam that carries the light that turns the drab gray of the ambient light into stark whites and pitch blacks. Sound disappears as the sphere of destruction expands, consuming the walker in dazzling display that ends with the thunderclap that blasts leaf litter into the air and shakes trees for the force of it.
"She said-" <"Not... to bring down... buildings."> the big man's grin in his voice while Gripper's synthetic sigh warbles over her speakers.
The explosion from the thermal detonator erases all other noise from the vicinity. Its bright flash, and immediate release of concussive energy is so powerful, it dwarfs the explosion the walker is consumed with. Gangsters spill over, hell, even Sumi spills backward and prematurely releases a Mitrinomin rocket that spirals off somewhere deeper into the park, colliding with some tree and bringing it down in some marvelous, unheard explosion.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnging CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMME!
Are the only sounds heard post explosions, but the battle does not stop. In fact, a second walker is shuffling into view, brushing past the charred shell of its cousin.
When everyones hearing begins to come back, they can make out the broken comms between Gor Bullet and his squad. A Trandoshan is detailing a pair of glorious kills on two walkers near their position. Something about a phosphorus grenade shot into the control cabin of each. <<"THE SSSSSSSCOREKEEPER ISSSSSSS PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASED, HHHHHAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAA!">>
<<"Enough playing around, Bossk. Get back over here!">>
<<"Moving SSSSSS--">>
Sumi's voice is heard over comms then. <<"Another walker!.. Prepping a shot now! Cover me!">>
Beepbeepbeepbeepbeep.
As the first walker goes down to the detonator, the Trandoshan rises from cover, meaning to lock on to his next target and fire. But before he can get the shot off, two blasts get through; taking him in the chest and left leg. He staggers backwards, wincing in pain. Then he roars and brings the rifle up again. He unloads two blasts; moving from one target to another; dropping them where they stand.
Still hunkered by his chosen tree, Jarret looses another two-shot salvo at the men on the ground. One shot expends itself in a tree trunk, throwing a shower of sparks and flame, while the other strikes a man in the lower right side, sending him spiraling to the earth. << Now for the machines, >> Jarret murmurs, gauging the height of the treetops...
This is how you get traumatic brain injury. BIG EXPLOSIONS with shockwaves! Thankfully Hahtavi isn't /super/ close when the walker goes up with a bright flash but the ensuing shockwave is felt all the way through his chest even with his armor! His cover takes the brunt of it and deflects the wave so that it doesn't knock him on his ass. Even with his helmet his ears are a little bit deafened for a moment.
He moves his ass as soon as he's able to make his body work. Use the aftershock distraction while he hustles to a new position only a short distance from his previous cover. There's Roth slicing and dicing up the last of the gangsters and suddenly Hahtavi doesn't have a target.
... or does he? There's another walker just coming around the edge of a building and directly into the park!
The clanless Mandalorian lifts the rifle and waits for it... aiming up for one of the eye holes like Jarret had suggested, if he got the chance. And if he was close enough. Just have to be careful not to take the shot if the grenade might bounce back at Sumi's feet or some such idocy...
When the shot looks good, Hahtavi crouched with one knee down, fires the grenade launcher. It's a beautiful shot! Not as good as a missile launcher but it blows plating off of that sucker. << "Suck that!" >>
whumWhumWHumWHUmWHUM
Overpressured plasma igniter in the orb chambers of his long gun thrumming to full power, Hadrix is turned by a blaster bolt bouncing off of the cuisse of his right leg before the beskar cuirass reflects a second and the big man dips to let more sail past his shoulder.
<<"Covering.">> is he laughing? Hadrix is laughing. He's still riding a high from the detonator throw while he continues to move to the trees, warning indicators on his rifle threaten that overload is imminent and so he provides the best cover he can... and he opens fire on the walker with that man-pack artillery launcher of his. The solid bolt heated to white hot slams into the primary rotation cogs, wedging and shooting out sparks while the boxy vehicle is frozen from the 'neck' up, allowing only leg movements.
Hadrix himself picks himself from his half stumble from the kick of the personal cannon and continues charging between cover, the second shot throwing him on his back and sending him skidding towards another tree.
<"AHHA! HAHAHAHAHAH!"> "You're a space damned lunatic!" <"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!"> Sitting up and leaning against the bole of the tree before he makes to get to a kneeling posture. <"Rekk me...">
Roth counts the last people on the ground and there is a breath taken before she darts out of her cover and runs straight at them. Thankfully they aren't that far apart and there's an easier time of being able to switch to another target once the one is down. The red is starting to mark up her armor and she swings around violently with the last shot with her sword and she tries to take the head off of the last one. She lets the blood flow down the sword and then kicks the dead body in the torso to drop it back. She looks around at the carnage quietly. "Well. Looks clear." she states.
The Walker's sudden malfunction because of a plasma bolt has grinding gears sparking beneath its 'head'. Unable to pivot and swivel, the AT-ST looks to do a small dance of stepping forward and back, forward again, then back. The frustration in the control cabin can be heard outside as the last of the gangsters are cut down and gunned down simultaneously.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
<"BACK BLAST-- BACK BLAST-- BACK BLAST!"> Sumi warns before finally firing the missile launcher. A loud sibilant noise, like a fuse, initiates before a rocket spits from the tube and a 30m long contrail emerges from the back of the tube, the result of the cap combusting and releasing the dangerous kinetic energy!
The rocket goes airborne, splits, then shoots straight up into the sky. For a second, it seems like it was for naught. Then the rocket falls straight through the canopy and smacks the top of the chicken walker from above with its shaped charge, releasing a massive explosion that was oriented toward the ground. It went down, then out, before consuming the entire armored vehicle in smoke, fire, and explosive bits!
BOOM!
When the dust settles, Sumi lowers the missile launcher and chuckles. Her hand baps the side of her helmet, her hearing gone. <<"I THINK THAT'S FOUR, RIGHT?">> She asks. Yeah, Gor and his team took two down, and so did this one! The park is theirs!
