The Gist
Jonn Hardy is a Human Replica Droid who works as a private detective on the Smuggler's Moon. If you need someone or something found, chances are he can do the job. His status as a droid is not public knowledge, though rumors have circulated that he might be more than just a little "off".
History
Jonn Hardy was one of many Human Replica Droid prototypes designed by the Empire during its later years. Designed specifically to engage in surveillance and subversion, HRD-JN05 would be tasked with dismantling the Rebel Alliance from within. Sadly, as funding for the HRD programs was cut in favor of a last-ditch effort to mass-produce the more proven equipment, Jonn never saw the light of day. The station that housed him was shut down and left forgotten in the coldness of space, set to decay much more slowly than the rest of the Empire. The war ended and any knowledge of Jonn's design was secured firmly as a footnote in the history of the Galactic Empire, until the unexpected happened. The derelict station drifted too near a lightning storm in deep space and a fusilade of electricity brought the once-dormant facility back to life for a brief moment. The majority of the prototypes were destroyed by the surge, but life was breathed into HRD-JN05, and the forgotten droid was born. Never instilled with his original prime directive, Jonn wandered the station for a while, finding what little information he could on his inception. Twenty years of isolation went by before a salvage crew set their sights on the facility. Thinking Jonn was some wayward soul, they allowed him passage on their vessel, and set him loose on Nar Shaddaa, where he set to work building a life for himself.
Not requiring food or sleep, this was easy going. Amazing what someone can get done when they don't have to worry about trivial things like that. He set the foundation for his own detective agency, deciding that installing himself within the community as a helping hand would be useful to help him...well, do whatever he was no doubt supposed to be doing for the Empire. He named his company 'Hardy and Solari Investigations' and found a cheap office space within the Spaceport District. Solari didn't exist, of course, but the holos always made it seem like he should have a partner, so he always just said that he had to step out to buy caff or had gotten wrapped up in a family emergency. To this date, Vinse Solari has lost seventy five grandmothers.
Description
Standing at six feet and two inches, this man is lanky and broad-shouldered. His skin is pale and his face is long, but not overly so. Narrow blue eyes sit to either side of a large, slightly-pointed nose. When he speaks, it is with a deep, practiced Coruscanti accent.
He's dressed simply and true to his profession; a bluish grey thigh-length coat made from thick fibers is worn over his clothes, the collar always flared just a little. Beneath the coat, he wears a navy blue henley-style shirt, a pair of grey dress pants and a pair of black Corellian leather shoes.
