History

Arakyd Industries' J33 Tactical Pilot Droid series was a failed (some say sabotaged) development project thirteen years before the Battle of Yavin, controversially intended as mass production units to man the Imperial Navy's standard TIE/LN starfighter so that ace organic pilots could be assigned to other specialized craft.

Of the hundred manufactured advanced prototypes, only a scant handful are said to still exist.

Of that handful, only one rusty and battered individual has stepped forward to prove its existence was not a fluke, volunteering as a pilot for the New Republic to correct the mistakes of the past.
