Background and History

The 'Cargo Countess' was the the first attempt at a Heavy Freighter by Ghtroc Industries that saw fairly good success. Its the class of ship that inspired the company to 'go bigger' with the later 'Empress-class'... which was the decision that caused the company to later fall apart and dissolve all together.

Ghtroc Industries was a major producer of starships within the Outer Rim of the galaxy. Their ships included the Ghtroc 440, Ghtroc 580, Ghtroc 720, Luxurious-class space yacht, and Cargo Empress-class super freighter.

The Cargo Empress was a dismal marketing failure, and contributed to the corporation's eventual bankruptcy. However, Ghtroc's light freighters, especially the Ghtroc 720, gained a loyal following in the Outer Rim and remained in widespread use years after the company went out of business.
