C1-series Astromech Droid

Background

The C1-series astromech droid was an antique type of astromech droid still in use during the Clone Wars and Galactic Empire, though they had long since passed their manufacturer's expiry date a few decades prior. Some still survive to the present day, a tribute to the design's sturdy and simple construction. While not the most advanced droid, they had a reputation for stubbornness and dogged attention to their work.

Capabilities

The C1 had three fairly primitive if sturdy mechanical arms to manipulate objects with and featured an electrical arc welder, along with a simple holographic recorder/transmitter unit. They were programmed for a wide variety of tasks, but eclipsed by the much more advanced capabilities of newer astromech designs.
